Abstract: In one embodiment, an intermediary gaming trusted electronic device for use with an untrusted PED may operate to securely communicate with a gaming apparatus and securely communicate with the associated untrusted PED. The intermediary gaming trusted device is able to support interaction between the gaming apparatus and the associated untrusted PED. In another embodiment, a system to authorize a mobile electronic device to play games of chance may include a gaming system manager and a docking station. The docking station can be configured to: detect whether the mobile electronic device is connected to the docking station; and determine whether the mobile electronic device, or its user, is authorized to play a game of chance on the mobile electronic device.

Abstract: The innovations herein concern a general service architecture and flexible backend platform design for a novel game development kit (GDK). In particular, a hosted gaming platform may be used to provide backend data services to a number of different players and/or for a number of different games, such as slot games or other wagering games. Many slot games and other wagering games may be developed by many different gaming studios concurrently, and such games may have many shared components, as well as many unique or custom-developed components for a particular game. Thus, presented herein are techniques, devices, and software architectures to provide a novel GDK having a general service architecture and a flexible, platform-agnostic backend design to support customizable, composable, and interoperable game development.

Abstract: A button deck includes a substrate and a two-part non-penetrating pushbutton assembly with an upper portion positioned on an upper surface of the substrate and a lower portion positioned on a lower surface of the substrate. The upper portion includes a button face positioned in a button frame that is coupled to the upper surface of the substrate. The button face is configured to be pressed to move within the button frame toward the upper surface of the substrate. The upper portion and the lower portion are configured to work together to provide a signal to an EGM that the button face has been pressed. The pushbutton assembly is non-penetrating because it does not provide any penetration points through the substrate of the button deck.

Abstract: A listening device is operatively connected to multiple network devices, and is configured to subscribe to one or more EGM data types, and receive first data from a first network device in accordance with the subscription. The listening device is also configured to generate a first data package in a form of a first data structure comprising the first data and configuration information related to the first network device, and transmit the data package across a second network to a collection server. The listening device is also configured to receive second data from a second network device in accordance with the subscription, wherein the second data comports with a second protocol that differs from the SAS protocol, and generate a second data package in the form of the first data structure comprising the second data and configuration information related to the second network device.

Abstract: Multi-currency digital wallet systems for use in casino gaming and other contexts are described. Such digital wallets may allow for balances of a variety of different types of currencies to be tracked and managed by a user. Multi-currency gaming machines are also described; such gaming machines may provide award amounts in different currencies dependent on a particular game outcome.

Abstract: Techniques and systems for providing games of chance with multiple levels of persistent features are disclosed. Some example systems include scatter prize indicators that are each associated with different symbol positions of a game of chance. When a scatter symbol is selected for a given symbol position, the scatter prize indicator associated therewith may be upgraded; selection of a sufficient number of symbol positions may result in a feature game mode being activated. During feature game mode play, scatter symbols are retained after each play of the game until either sufficient consecutive plays occur without any scatter symbols being obtained or until all symbol positions have scatter symbols. In the latter case, the scatter prize indicators are upgraded and play continues. In the former case, the feature game mode concludes. Various enhancements may be triggered based on the number of times that the feature game mode has been activated.

Abstract: A reward system includes a tangible, non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon and a processor configured to execute instructions stored in the storage medium. The processor is in communication with a mobile computing device and an electronic gaming machine. When executed by the processor, the instructions causes the processor to at least (i) receive mobile game activity information associated with a mobile game on the mobile computing device; (ii) award the player a first awarded prize based upon the mobile game activity information; (iii) store a first awarded prize entry in a player account for subsequent redemption at the electronic gaming machine, the first awarded prize entry identifies the first awarded prize; (iv) detect a presence of the player at the electronic gaming machine; and (v) instruct the electronic gaming machine to display the first awarded prize when the player accesses the electronic gaming machine.

Abstract: An electronic gaming machine (EGM) archway includes a first EGM including at least one first curved display device, the at least one first curved display device defining a first portion of the archway. The EGM archway also includes a second EGM including at least one second curved display device, the at least one second curved display device defining a second portion of the archway, the second EGM spaced apart from and diametrically opposing the first EGM. In addition, the EGM archway includes an overhead display portion including at least one third display device, the at least one third display device defining a third portion of the archway, the overhead display portion extending overhead between the at least one first curved display device and the at least one second curved display device.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for providing an enhanced return to player (RTP) mode is provided. During play of a base game, certain tracking elements are collected over a number of plays. After a predetermined quantity of elements are collected, play of the enhanced RTP mode begins. For the play of the enhanced RTP mode, a wager is required. A quantity of plays of the enhanced RTP mode is provided that matches the quantity of tracking elements accumulated to trigger the mode.

Abstract: A system is provided. The system may include a display device and a processor configured to present an array of display positions including columns and rows of display positions, the array including a first row having a reel of symbols associated with each column of the first row for displaying symbols on the reels within the first row, the array including a second row for displaying a set of initial symbols, each row of the array above the first row including a progressively increasing multiplier value, identify an RNG output for each of the reels, perform a lookup within a table associated with a column using the RNG output for the column, determine that a step-up symbol should be displayed in the first column based on the first lookup, and move the initial symbol displayed in the first column up at least one row based on the determination.

Abstract: A gaming device may comprise various components, including a main cabinet, a game controller, and a display assembly. The display assembly may be releasably coupled to the game cabinet so that the display assembly may be quickly removed prior to replacement and/or maintenance operations. The display assembly may include a display panel and the display panel may be separated into multiple display regions. Each display region may be presented at an offset angle with respect to a proximate display region so as to display information to a player of the gaming device at different angles. The display assembly may additionally be provided with an electrical connector and/or an attachment mechanism to releasably couple the display assembly to the game cabinet.

The electronic gaming machine includes at least one memory device and at least one processor in communication with the at least one memory device. The at least one processor executes instructions to store a plurality of wagering games, including a first wagering game with a first RTP and a second wagering game with a second RTP. The first RTP and the second RTP are different. The at least one processor also executes instructions to execute the first wagering game, receive a player identifier from a player, determine that the player has access to the second wagering game based, at least in part, on the player identifier, and execute the second wagering game for the player.

Abstract: A gaming system includes an EGM having a horizontally mounted display device, a reader device configured to wirelessly detect tagged items. The EGM is configured to detect, using the reader device, the presence of a first tagged item and determine a tag identifier (ID) of the first tagged item. The EGM is also configured to transmit a tag detection message to a gaming support server and receive, from the gaming support server, a response message including an amount of play credits to be added to a credit meter of the EGM. The EGM is further configured to increment a first credit meter on the EGM by the amount of play credits identified in the response message and to conduct instances of game play of an electronic game on the display device, each instance of game play decrementing the first credit meter to enable play.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein concern mobile gaming environments. Portable electronic devices can be supported by the mobile gaming environments. The locations of the portable electronic device can influence how the portable electronic devices operate or what services or features are available to the portable electronic device or their users. According to one embodiment, a mobile gaming system can concern gaming/betting opportunities that can be secured using a portable electronic device even when an individual is located in a location where betting or games of chance are not permitted. According to another embodiment, a mobile gaming system can concern an application program operating on a portable electronic device that supports multiple modes of operation depending upon whether the portable electronic device is in a location where betting or games of chance are permitted.
