  • Patent number: 4652725
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for heating up a first gas-flow with a second gas-flow. The first gas-flow is caused to flow along a wall in a cylindrical chamber as a rotating gas-flow and the second gas-flow is caused to flow centrally in the chamber, surrounded by the first gas-flow, so that the wall is protected. The apparatus comprises a chamber having an inlet section designed as a whirlpool chamber and an elongate cylindrical mixing part non-radial inlets for the first gas-flow, having their orifices in the wall of the whirlpool chamber and having an inlet for the second gas-flow, arranged substantially centrally in the end of the whirlpool chamber facing away from the mixing part, as well as an outlet section arranged in the mixing chamber part opposite the whirlpool chamber.

  • Patent number: 4647231
Abstract: A multiple-row tapered rolling bearing in an O-arrangement has an outer ring, a pair of abutting inner rings, and tapered rolling bodies arranged therebetween. The inner rings are axially secured together by a clamping ring which form-locks with annular grooves formed in the inner rings. A bore is provided in the outer ring which is adopted to allow a separating tool to be passed therethrough. The separating tool has a cutting edge which is impressed on the clamping ring during relative rotation of the outer and inner rings, thereby severing the clamping ring for disassembling the bearing.

  • Patent number: 4645395
Abstract: The invention concerns a nut provided with a locking element (4, 5, 6, 7), which by e.g. a screw (8, 9, 10, 11) can be urged radially against a screw thread. In order to provide a self-contained and easily releasable nut the locking element is arranged in a recess which, together with the element, is so arranged that at least a part (12, 13, 14, 15) of the element is deformed elastically when the element is moved against the screw thread. Thereby the element springs out of contact with the thread when the screw (8, 9, 10, 11) is released.

  • Patent number: 4645047
Abstract: In a freewheel mechanism with a number of blocking members arranged between raceways on two elements, one raceway is arranged on a body which is co-operating with one of the elements and is turnable thereon. The circumference of the body is variable for varying the distance between the raceways. The variations can take place because the body is elastically deformable radially and by tightening and releasing a threaded portion between the body and the element, the thread flanks thereby acting as wedges. The purpose of the arrangement is to avoid jamming of the freewheel by the blocking members upon reversal of the direction of rotation when the blocking members are in blocking position. The unwanted torque developed during jamming of the freewheel releases the tightened thread joint between the body and the element, whereby the circumference of the body and the distance between the raceways of the freewheel is increased so that the blocking members are released.

  • Patent number: 4643742
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a plant for cooling gases and removing dust from them. In a first step after saturation with water vapour, the gas is brought to accelerate, additional water being simultaneously added to the dust particles in the gas, whereupon the gas flow thus loaded is brought to pass over the surface of the water in a first sedimentation container (1) so that the majority of the dust content is released to the sump in the sedimentation container (1). The gas flow is thereafter subjected to final cleaning and cooling in a second step, through direct contact with water, whereupon the water utilized in this manner, possibly via a second sedimentation container (2), is wholly or partially returned to the first step.
