  • Patent number: 10235972
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bit rate controller comprising: a light determination block configured to determine a light level in images of a captured scene; and a maximum bit rate setting block. The maximum bit rate setting block is configured to: upon the light level being determined to be a low light level, set a low-light maximum bit rate; upon the light level being determined to be an intermediate light level, set an intermediate-light maximum bit rate; or upon the light level being determined to be a high light level, set a high-light maximum bit rate. The low-light maximum bit rate is lower than the intermediate-light maximum bit rate. The high-light maximum bit rate is lower than the intermediate-light maximum bit rate.

  • Publication number: 20190066335
Abstract: A method of calibrating a pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) camera with a fixed camera utilizing an overview image of a scene captured by the fixed camera, and an image of the scene captured by the PTZ camera when directed in a first direction. By matching features in the overview image and the PTZ camera image, a first calibration is carried out by correlating the first direction to matching features in the overview image. A mapping between the PTZ camera image and the overview image is defined based on the matching features. The mapping is used to map an object from the PTZ camera image to the overview image. Based on an appearance of the mapped object, a quality of the mapping is calculated. If the quality is not good enough, the PTZ camera is redirected to a second direction, and a further calibration is carried out by again.

  • Publication number: 20190057492
Abstract: A method and an image processing device for detecting a portion of an image that is dominated by infrared (IR) light of at least one predetermined IR wavelength are disclosed. A set of phase pixel values for setting focus in the image is obtained. Each of the phase pixel values is compared to a first threshold related to phase shift occurring due to difference between at least a wavelength of the first colour component and said at least one predetermined IR wavelength. Moreover, in case a phase pixel value satisfies the first threshold, it is determined that the respective location associated with said phase pixel value is included in the portion of the image that is dominated by the IR light. A computer program and a computer program carrier are also disclosed.
