Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for producing 2,3,4,5-tetrachlorobenzotrifluoride comprising chlorinating 4-chlorobenzotrifluoride with elemental chlorine, in the presence of from 0.1 to 2% by weight of iron(III) chloride and 0.05 to 0.75% by weight of aluminum(III) chloride, in each case based on 4-chlorobenzotrifluoride, where the weight ratio of iron(III) chloride to aluminum(III) chloride is 10:1 to 1:1.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the continuous production of nano-scale precious metal particles on SiH-containing support materials, the compositions themselves, and the use of these precious metal-containing compositions as catalyst. The continuous process according to the invention includes impregnating support materials and, after thermal activation, drying the support materials by spraying or by fluidized bed technology leads to form precious metal-containing support compositions that are active in the catalysis of oxidation reactions. The catalytically active precious metal-containing support compositions exhibit high selectivities and productivities and have very long catalyst service lives without deactivation. The invention also relates to a process for the oxidation of hydrocarbons in the presence of oxygen, a reducing agent and the precious-metal containing support compositions of the present invention.

Abstract: An auto-calibration label for use with one or more sensing instruments. The label comprising first encoded calibration information and second encoded calibration information. The second encoded calibration information may correspond to a different instrument than the first encoded calibration information. The second encoded information may also be used to provide additional calibration information for use with the first instrument. The label may be removably attached to a sensor package comprising a plurality of sensors. A first conductive ink pattern is disposed on the label to define the first encoded calibration information. The first conductive ink pattern is disposed contemporaneously with or without a portion of a second conductive ink pattern defining the second encoded calibration information. An insulating layer is disposed on the first pattern. And the second ink pattern is disposed on the insulating layer. The first pattern is operable with the first instrument, not the second instrument.
Abstract: Process for recovering the vanadium present in the chromium ore chromite, as vanadium pentoxide, as a by-product from the vanadium-containing sodium chromate solution produced in the process of preparing sodium chromate and sodium dichromate from said ore, by precipitation of calcium vanadate from the sodium chromate solution, treatment of the precipitate with water and sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, carbon dioxide or sodium carbonate and carbon dioxide, to precipitate calcium carbonate and electrolysis of the solution remaining after separation of the calcium carbonate precipitate, to produce vanadium pentoxide.

Abstract: A sensor dispensing instrument adapted to handle a sensor pack containing a plurality of sensors and to perform a test using one of the sensors. The sensor dispensing instrument includes an outer housing and display disposed on the outer housing for showing items. The sensor dispensing instrument further comprises a power button for turning the sensor dispensing instrument on and off, a scroll button for scroll through the items, and a select button for selecting an item.
Abstract: This invention relates to polyurethane compositions which cross-link via a silane polycondensation and contain at least one alkoxysilane-functional polyurethane, at least one basic filler, at least one reaction product of an aminosilane with a maleic or fumaric ester, at least one organometallic compound and optionally additional auxiliary substances, to a process for their preparation, and to their use.
Abstract: The invention relates to rubber compounds that contain rubbers polymerized in solution with a secondary hydroxyl group content of 0.1 to 5 wt.- % that are not more than 4 carbon atoms away from the respective side chain end. The invention also relates to mixtures thereof with fillers, optionally additional rubbers and rubber auxiliary agents and the vulcanized rubbers produced thereof. The inventive rubber compounds are useful for producing highly reinforced, abrasion-resistant molded bodies, especially for producing tires that are characterized by excellent non-skid properties on wet surfaces.

Abstract: A melt-polymerized polycarbonate is disclosed. The polycarbonate has a shear thinning ratio (y) that is defined by the limiting values of the following equation
c+axb>y>−c+axb (Q)
wherein y≧1, c=0.3 to 0.1, b=14.831±0.05 to 0.02, a=0.1262±0.005 to 0.003 and x is the relative viscosity of the polycarbonate. The polycarbonate exhibits a flow behavior similar to that of a linear polycarbonate of comparable molecular weight obtained by the interface polymerization process.
