Abstract: A technique to provide a hardware security module that provides a secure boundary for retention of a secure key within the secure boundary and prevention of unauthorized accesses from external sources outside of the secure boundary to obtain the secure key. The hardware security module includes a security processor to unwrap and authenticate a secure key within the secure boundary to decrypt or encrypt data and to provide data through a single interface that communicates with external sources, so that all data transfers between the secure boundary, formed by the hardware security module, and external sources are transferred only through the interface. The hardware security module ensures no unwrapped key leaves the secure boundary established by the hardware security module.

  • Publication number: 20150048839
Abstract: Accurate charge measurement based on a calibration factor is described. According to certain aspects, the amount of charge stored in a battery is accumulated over time and adjusted using a calibration factor. In one embodiment, the calibration factor is determined by generating a replica current which comprises a scaled factor of a battery charging current. A calibration reference voltage is measured based on the replica current, and a charge reference voltage is measured based on the battery charging current. A calibration factor is determined based on the charge reference voltage and the calibration reference voltage. In turn, the amount of charge in a battery is accumulated over time using the calibration factor. In various embodiments, the calibration factor provides a factor by which a relatively-low tolerance reference circuit is adjusted, to achieve higher accuracy without substantially increased cost.

  • Publication number: 20150052240
Abstract: A device for instrumentation and traffic disposition of a network using one or more time-stamps may include a receiving port to receive a data packet. A device configuration module may be configured to determine whether the device is a boundary device located on a boundary of an instrumented sub-network of the network. If the determination is made that device is the boundary device, a frame processing module may insert a first time-stamp at a first offset from a frame checksum (FCS) field in a data frame associated with the data packet. Otherwise, a corresponding time-stamp may be inserted at a second offset from the FCS field. The one or more time-stamps may enable a receiving endpoint device of the network to determine timeliness information associated with the data packet.

  • Publication number: 20150049624
Abstract: The present application relates generally to use of radio resources in a radio access network (RAN) and, in more specific, Full-Duplex (FD) transmission on the same carrier. Due to the mobility of the UEs or the non-optimal grouping, two UEs belonging to different groups may be close to each other while performing transmission and cause serious transmission interferences to 5 each other. This is one of the problems which a method in accordance with the invention aims to solve. When the performing the method a RAN triggers a UE to measure 601 first interferences originated from a first group of UEs. Then the RAN triggers the same UE to measure 602 second interferences originated from a second group of the UEs. Finally, the RAN places 603 the UE into the first group, if the first interferences are higher than the second interferences. The both 10 groups of the UEs are composed of such user equipments which share a group-specific transmission pattern.

  • Publication number: 20150049716
Abstract: A wireless communication device (e.g., operative within a wireless local area network (WLAN)) coordinates with another wireless communication device to determine which communication parameter(s) to use in at least one FTM frame exchange. In an example of operation, the wireless communication device includes a communication interface and a processor such that the processor receives, via the communication interface, a fine timing measurement (FTM) request frame from the other wireless communication device. The FTM request frame specifies at least one preferred communication parameter for the at least one FTM frame exchange. The processor then determines, based on the FTM request frame, information related to the at least one preferred communication parameter. The wireless communication device generates and transmits a response to the FTM request frame to the other wireless communication device that confirms or overrides the at least one preferred communication parameter.

  • Patent number: 8957516
Abstract: A low cost and high performance flip chip package is disclosed. By assembling the package using a substrate panel level process, a separate fabrication of a substrate is avoided, thus enabling the use of a coreless substrate. The coreless substrate may include multiple stacked layers of laminate dielectric films having conductive traces and vias. As a result, electrical connection routes may be provided directly from die contact pads to package contact pads without the use of conventional solder bumps, thus accommodating very high density semiconductor dies with small feature sizes. The disclosed flip chip package provides lower cost, higher electrical performance, and improved thermal dissipation compared to conventional fabricated substrates with solder bumped semiconductor dies.
