Abstract: A linking list transmit queue system includes a queue, packet buffer and buffer tag with one-to-one mapping between them. The packet buffer stores packet data, the buffer tag stores packet data length and the queue stores a linking list of addresses corresponding to the packet data in the order in which the packet data was received from a transmitting network node. The system transmits the stored packet data in the order it was received from the transmitting network node to a destination network node.
Abstract: Unlike sound based pressure waves that go everywhere, air turbulence caused by wind is usually a fairly local event. Therefore, in a system that utilizes two or more spatially separated microphones to pick up sound signals (e.g., speech), wind noise picked up by one of the microphones often will not be picked up (or at least not to the same extent) by the other microphone(s). Embodiments of methods and apparatuses that utilize this fact and others to effectively detect and suppress wind noise using multiple microphones that are spatially separated are described.
Abstract: Multi-channel noise suppression systems and methods are described that omit the traditional delay-and-sum fixed beamformer in devices that include a primary speech microphone and at least one noise reference microphone with the desired speech being in the near-field of the device. The multi-channel noise suppression systems and methods use a blocking matrix (BM) to remove desired speech in the input speech signal received by the noise reference microphone to get a “cleaner” background noise component. Then, an adaptive noise canceler (ANC) is used to remove the background noise in the input speech signal received by the primary speech microphone based on the “cleaner” background noise component to achieve noise suppression. The filters implemented by the BM and ANC are derived using closed-form solutions that require calculation of time-varying statistics of complex frequency domain signals in the noise suppression system.
Abstract: A system and method for energy savings on a PHY/MAC interface for energy efficient Ethernet. Power savings for a PHY due to low-link utilization can also be realized in the higher layer elements that interface with the PHY. In one embodiment, subrating is implemented on a MAC/PHY interface to match a subrating of the PHY with a remote link partner. This subrating is less than the full capacity rate and can be zero.

For example, the internal memory buffer may emulate the external memory device in response to an input signal. Moreover, in various embodiments of the disclosure, the external memory device may be a dynamic random access memory (DRAM), while the to internal memory buffer may be a static random access memory (SRAM). The memory controller may be adapted to automated test equipment (ATE). Moreover, the memory controller may be incorporated onto a system-on-a-chip (SOC) along with one or more agents.
Abstract: An update algorithm for equalizer coefficients in a communications system using phase correction symbols. Instead of using a traditional all symbols slicer update algorithm, the equalizer is updated during phase correction symbols for optimal performance in low signal-to-noise ratio conditions. In lower signal-to-noise ratio conditions, the equalizer uses a phase correction circuit to compensate for distortion caused by a communication channel when a demodulated data stream contains an unknown phase offsets resulting from a fast dynamic distortion. More specifically, the phase correction circuit uses a phase correction signal to correct for the unknown phase offsets in a demodulated data stream in lower signal-to-noise ratio conditions. The equalizer then corrects for distortion caused by the communication channel based upon the phase corrected demodulated data stream.

Abstract: A system for measuring aspects of a network having a plurality of network components, includes a monitor configured to gather operational characteristics of at least one of the plurality of network components and an analyzer. The analyzer is configured to analyze the gathered operational characteristics received from the monitor and estimate characteristics of an unmonitored one of the plurality of network components based on the gathered operational characteristics.
Abstract: Described herein are multi-channel noise suppression systems and methods that are configured to detect and suppress wind and background noise using at least two spatially separated microphones: at least one primary speech microphone and at least one noise reference microphone. The multi-channel noise suppression systems and methods are configured, in at least one example, to first detect and suppress wind noise in the input speech signal picked up by the primary speech microphone and, potentially, the input speech signal picked up by the noise reference microphone. Following wind noise detection and suppression, the multi-channel noise suppression systems and methods are configured to perform further noise suppression in two stages: a first linear processing stage that includes a blocking matrix and an adaptive noise canceler, followed by a second non-linear processing stage.
Abstract: A handheld computing unit includes a plurality of PHY units, a local wireless interface (LWI), and a processing module. When the unit is in a femtocell AP mode, the processing module performs one or more femtocell AP functions to facilitate conversion of a LWI downstream data into one or more downstream PHY signals and conversion of one or more upstream PHY signals into the LWI upstream data; determines energy demand of the handheld computing unit; determines whether the energy demand compares unfavorably to energy performance criteria; and, when the energy demand compares unfavorably to the energy performance criteria, executes an energy adjustment algorithm.

Abstract: A multimode communication device with a shared signal path programmable filter and a method for utilizing a shared signal path programmable filter in a multimode communication device. Various aspects of the present invention comprise a first module adapted to receive a first communication signal (e.g., corresponding to a first communication protocol) and a second module adapted to receive a second communication signal (e.g., corresponding to a second communication protocol). A shared filter, communicatively coupled to the first and second modules, may be adapted to filter the first and/or second communication signals in accordance with a plurality of selectable sets of filter response characteristics (e.g., associated with the first and second communication protocols). A filter control module may be adapted to select a set of filter response characteristics from a plurality of such sets and program the shared filter to filter a communication signal in accordance with the selected set.
