Abstract: A Femtocell measures power from a serving and/or neighboring base stations in a radio access network specified in, for example, 3GPP, 3GPP2 and/or WiMAX. The power measurements are transmitted over a broadband IP network to a location server coupled to an associated mobile core network. Related location information comprising reference positions and/or actual location of the Femtocell are received from the location server over the broadband IP network. The Femtocell generates measurement reports of a serving and/or neighboring base stations in the radio access network. The generated measurement reports are transmitted to the location server over the broadband IP network. The location server identifies the reference positions of the Femtocell from a reference database based on the received measurement reports for calculating the location of the Femtocell by the location server and/or by the Femtocell itself. The calculated location of the Femtocell is used to update the reference database.

Abstract: A system side interface of a PHY chip used in conjunction with a 100 GBASE backplane, sends and receives data using an NRZ signal format, but at a data rate of between about 26.5 Gbps/per lane to 27.2 Gbps/per lane, which is consistent with the PAM 4 signaling protocol. Thus, chip-to-chip communications between a PHY chip and a switch or controller chip can use an “overclocked” NRZ signaling format, reducing the amount of logic needed, which in turn can reduce signal latency, and reduce the chip area and power consumption required to implement the logic.
Abstract: A memory access circuit and a corresponding method are provided. The memory access circuit includes a crypto block in communication with a memory that encrypts data of a data block on a block basis. The memory access circuit also includes a fault injection block configured to inject faults to the data in the data block. The memory access circuit further includes a data scrambler and an address scrambler. The data scrambler is configured to scramble data in the memory by shuffling data bits within the data block in a plurality of rounds and mash the shuffled data bits with random data. The address scrambler is configured to distribute the scrambled data across the memory. A memory system including the memory access circuit is also disclosed to implement the corresponding method.
Abstract: A communication device (alternatively, device) includes a processor configured to support communications with other communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processor, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. The device receives a non-binary low density parity check (NB-LDPC) coded signal. The device then decodes the NB-LDPC coded signal using a NB-LDPC matrix to generate estimates of information bits encoded therein. The NB-LDPC matrix is characterized by a base proto-matrix having elements that represent sub-matrices, and the elements are selected from a finite Galois field that includes symbols.
Abstract: A method includes detecting, using a WiFi access point, channel use data indicating traffic on a plurality of channels of an unlicensed LTE band in a wireless network. Abstract: A near field communications (NFC) device is disclosed that intelligently routes NFC data from a NFC device between multiple user interfaces based upon a power level of its internal batteries. The communications device utilizes a communications device user interface to send and/or receive the NFC data from the NFC device when its internal batteries are sufficient to operate the communications device user interface. The communications device begins to route some of this NFC data from being sent and/or received by the communications device user interface to a NFC user interface as its internal batteries deplete. Eventually, all of the NFC data will be sent to and/or received by the NFC user interface as the internal batteries of the communications device become so depleted that they are unable to reliably operate the communications device user interface.
Abstract: A system and method for communicating tactile information, substantially as shown in and/or described in connection with at least one of the figures, as set forth more completely in the claims.
Abstract: A Near Field Communication (NFC) device has a short range wireless radio frequency communicator capable of seeking to initiate short range communication by transmitting an RF signal and of responding to such initiation so that communication between two short range wireless radio frequency communicators occurs when in range. The NFC device also has a high data rate data communicator for communicating directly with another high data rate data communicator to receive and transmit data when the short range wireless radio frequency communicator has communicated with another in-range short range wireless radio frequency communicator.
Abstract: Information may be communicated between two or more wireless devices via adaptive or steered antennas or antenna systems and 60 GHz signals. The adaptive or steered antennas or antenna systems may be initialized based upon location information determined from a beacon signal and/or a reference system. The beacon signal may be swept through an angle and may be utilized along with reference system information to determine the direction and/or distance between the two or more wireless devices. Spatial relationships between the two or more wireless devices may vary. The two or more wireless devices may communicate and coordinate communications between them via alternate lower frequency signals.
Abstract: A radio frame or subframe is checked and it is determined to satisfy at least one predefined condition. In response to that determination, a second search space is utilized such that a number Y of blind detections for a user equipment UE in the determined radio frame/subframe is greater than a number X of blind detections for the UE in the radio frame/subframe if a first search space were utilized. In various embodiments the predefined condition is: the number X of blind detections is less than a threshold value Z (Z>=Y) where Z is a maximum number M of blind detections defined by a transmission mode for the frame's/subframe's component carrier CC; a number of CCs configured for the UE; the radio frame or subframe is in the first CC but not in the second CC one of uplink or a special subframe (further conditions) or an almost blank subframe.

Abstract: In a base station having a Massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (M-MIMO) antenna array, the availability of the M-MIMO antenna array is exploited to manage the interference caused by the base station to neighboring cells. In one embodiment, the large number of antenna elements of the M-MIMO antenna array are used to create precise transmit and/or receive spatial nulls at specific User Equipments (UEs) being served by a neighboring cell and/or in select areas of the neighboring cell. Depending on whether the spatial null is partial or full, transmissions by the base station may have reduced or even zero receive power within the neighboring cell.
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program are provided for controlling a communications state of an apparatus with respect to a serving cell in a communications network. The apparatus is configured with a first and second, different signal threshold, wherein the first and second signal thresholds are dependent on a reference signal. A value of a signal associated with at least one cell in the communications network is monitored. A timer is configured with a first operative state when the monitored signal value is determined to exceed the first signal threshold and a second operative state when the monitored signal value is determined to be lower than the second signal threshold. Responsive to a value of the timer satisfying a predetermined time parameter, the communications state of the apparatus with respect to its serving cell is adjusted.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for reducing surge current in power gated designs. In one aspect, a storage capacitor supplies a portion of the current used to power up a circuit. The storage capacitor may be charged from a power supply or other source. When the circuit is to be powered up, the circuit is connected to the power supply and the storage capacitor. As a result, current is supplied to the circuit from the power supply and the storage capacitor to power up the circuit. Because a portion of the current used to power up the circuit is supplied from the storage capacitor, the amount of current needed from the power supply to power up the circuit can be reduced, thereby reducing current surge through the power supply. The storage capacitor may be shared by multiple circuits.
