  • Patent number: 4267817
Abstract: A wood stove is of all welded steel plate construction except for the door which is of heavy cast iron. When the door is closed, the only source of combustion air is through an adjustable air inlet on the face of the door. The door is hollow and serves to preheat the incoming air. The inner wall of the door divides the incoming air into lower and upper, primary and secondary, respectively, combustion air flows. The stove has an internal upper baffle running from rear to front which helps to promote air flow and combustion efficiency and to knock out entrained matter from the products of combustion. The flue connection is in the rear of the stove above the baffle and is stepped into the back of the stove to allow the stove to be fitted against a wall.

  • Patent number: 4266451
Abstract: Apparatus for screwing, unscrewing, and handling large bolts such as stud bolts for the cover of the core tank of a nuclear reactor. A circular guide rail is positioned above the periphery of the core tank. A main chassis is suspended from and movable along the guide rail. The main chassis includes two vertical beams and a plurality of horizontal guide beams which extend over the core tank periphery toward the interior thereof. A secondary chassis includes a number of bars which cooperate with the guide beams to permit horizontal movement of the secondary chassis in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the main chassis. A screwing mechanism is vertically movable on the secondary chassis and includes a gripping device for gripping the screw and a jack for compensating for the weight of the screw. A second gripping device can be included for gripping a washer.

  • Patent number: 4266502
Abstract: A food product in the form of an elongated strip is provided with a coating of seeds by directing it upon the loading end of a conveyor belt, passing it through a wetting station and thereafter directing it from the discharge end of the conveyor belt onto a grooved drum. A quantity of seeds carried by a hopper is directed onto a surface of the drum in the area just prior to the contact point of the food product with the drum. The seed is received upon the bottom of the grooves in the drum and around the sides and top of the food product. A pressure roller in contact with the periphery of the drum urges the seeds into firmer contact with the food product. Excess seeds are recaptured and the seeded food product is directed from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4267493
Abstract: A pre-step timer circuit for pre-advancing the next timer period (control step) in a DC motor controller, such as in a crane-hoist controller. A sensing resistor module is connected from the line side of a contactor coil of a preceding control step to the input of a timer module in series with the accelerating contactor coil in the next control step. This resistor module sensing the previous coil voltage provides a feed-forward path for the sensed voltage signal to pre-time the next timer module. So, if a master switch is left in the previous control step long enough for the next timer module to time out, then the next control step is actuated immediately when the master switch is advanced thereto.

  • Patent number: 4266690
Abstract: A dispenser for welding electrodes is disclosed. The dispenser comprises a tubular casing having a first internal elongate tubular cavity for storage of a plurality of the welding electrodes for dispensing one at a time therefrom. A top end closure has an axial opening dimensioned to permit the passage of one only of the electrodes from the cavity upon manual actuation of an axially-reciprocal pusher rod engaging the lower end of the electrode. The axial opening is provided with a friction grip disc which normally closes the opening, permits the passage of an electrode therethrough but exerts a friction grip on a stationary partly-dispensed electrode to prevent the same from returning to the cavity.

  • Patent number: 4265073
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved apparatus for forming and overwrapping the batches of products commonly known in Italy as "sticks".To form batches of products either flat, one on top of the other, or tip to tip along one of their narrower sides, a first intermittently rotating head provided with radial compartments for accommodating the individual products is placed at the side of a second head that rotates intermittently around an axis perpendicular to that of the first rotating head, is coupled to a wrapping mechanism and is provided with radial compartments, each suitable for accommodating one batch of products. The said second rotating head and the wrapping mechanism are supported in such a way that they are able to move in the direction of the first head so that the second rotating head can arrive at two different stations to receive the individual products from the first rotating head. The said two stations, angularly interspaced by 90.degree.

  • Patent number: 4265147
Abstract: A working pit with an articulated tool arm assembly is provided for an automobile assembly line. A tool carried by the arm assembly is used to perform assembly operations in an automobile moving either longitudinally or transversely along the line. The articulated arm is mounted on a trolley which is movable longitudinally of the working pit along tracks adjacent a side wall of the pit. The tool arm can pivot horizontally toward and away from the pit wall and can pivot vertically to enable a tool holder at the end of the arm to move from a position at or below floor level to a position in the path of an automobile body moving along the assembly line above the pit. The tool holder enables the tool to rotate through a path of 360.degree. and to tilt. The articulated arm is especially designed for use with a nut runner to tighten nuts and bolts underneath the automobile body, but can also be used with other tools.

  • Patent number: 4265924
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for recovering proteins from lactoserum. This process comprises subjecting a lactoserum to a heat treatment to denature the proteins present in it and then separating the denatured proteins from the other non-fat constituents of the lactoserum by ultrafiltration. Alternatively, the ultrafiltered lactoserum, i.e. the retentate, is subjected to a complementary heat treatment for denaturing the proteins. The proteins thus recovered may be used in dietetic or infant nutrition and in cheese making.

  • Patent number: 4266058
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the synthesis of 2-isopropylamino-pyrimidine by aminolysis of 2-methylsulphonyl-pyrimidine using isopropylamine. The aminolysis is effected, according to the present invention, by refluxing isopropylamine and 2-methylsulphonyl-pyrimidine in the absence of a solvent. Using this technique, the 2-isopropylamino-pyrimidine has been obtained in a substantially quantitative yield.

  • Patent number: 4265850
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of spectacle frame parts of synthetic material and in particular to the moulding of spectacle frame faces of synthetic material, for example, of polyurethane. The faces are moulded between two casting half-moulds each comprising a plate having an impression on one surface thereof. Each plate has a substantially equal thickness at every point and is made of a polyolefine. Use of such half-moulds enables the faces of spectacle frames to be directly moulded into their final shape.
