Abstract: A hydrodynamic torque converter has a bridging coupling. An axial piston arranged in the converter housing is subjected to a working pressure for engagement of the bridging coupling and to an internal housing pressure acting in the opposite direction. A sensor operative relative to a reference control pressure controls working pressure. To obtain an analogous dependence on the internal housing pressure otherwise measurable only with special measures, the reference control pressure is set by means of a pressure-regulating valve working as a function both of the inflow pressure and of the flow-off pressure of the hydrodynamic working circuit.
Abstract: In a drive-slip control device on a road vehicle equipped with an anti-lock system and having a hydraulic dual-circuit brake system, in which at least on the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels, the ABS works on the return-flow principle and the ASR on the principle of decelerating a vehicle wheel tending to spin by subjecting its wheel brake to pressure. For the drive-slip control mode, a return pump of the ABS (assigned to the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels) is utilized as an auxiliary-pressure source. By means of an ASR control valve, the affected brake unit can be shut off from the main brake line of the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. The return pump is connected to the return line of the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. By means of an accumulator isolating valve the return line can be shut off from a buffer accumulator provided for receiving brake fluid bled from the wheel brake and from the inlet of the return pump during normal braking.
Abstract: A storage compartment for a motor vehicle and the like, comprises a receptacle having a bottom well which is lowered relative to an access opening situated at the front. The receptacle has a carrier body into which the bottom well can be detachably inserted, and upright side wall parts, formed or and extending beyond the bottom well. When upright, the side wall parts prevent the bottom well from being removed from the carrier body and can be folded in against the bottom well.

Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle locking device having a mechanical rotary connection between a cylinder core of a lock cylinder and a lever system of an associated lock and comprises a driver coupling having two sleeve bodies which are mounted coaxially to one another and, in their installed position, are positively coupled to one another with the interposition of a rotary lost motion freewheeling connection. The rotary movement of the sleeve body drivable by the cylinder core, via a rotary connection element, is sensed for the purpose of controlling an additional locking function superposed on the rotation of the cylinder core. The other sleeve body is dynamically coupled to a securing element of the lever system of the lock. In order to achieve a substantial freedom in the arrangement of the control elements, the two sleeve bodies are rotatably connected to one another and are independently rotatably mounted on a support, spaced from the lock cylinder.

Abstract: In a heating/air conditioning system for a motor vehicle, with an exchangeable and selectively bypassable absorption filter which is arranged in a channel shaped housing and through which fresh air and/or circulating air can flow, a high degree of absorption is achieved when unprocessed air passing through internal leakage points at the absorption filter holder and the shut off bypass line of the absorption filter is collected and conveyed, via at least one line, to a location which is separated from the passenger space and the pressure level of which is lower than the pressure level on the flow off side of the absorption filter. Untreated air, which in certain circumstances escapes through external leakage points of a housing partition, is guided outside the passenger space, at the same time being prevented from overflowing into the latter.

Abstract: An anti-collision cushion is disclosed for the occupants of a motor vehicle. Known anti-collision cushions are constructed with a central part which is connected to two side parts of equal size. A tearing fold which reduces the volume capacity, and which is formed by a rip seam, is provided on the surface of the central part. In the deployment phase an expansion occurs with high velocities in the region of the side parts, which may result in injuries to the occupant in some circumstances. In the novel anti-collision cushion the rip seams connect the connecting seams which are contiguous in the region of the tearing fold between the central part and the side parts. A reduction of the expansion and of the expansion velocity, particularly in the region of the side parts, is thereby achieved.

Abstract: An actuating device for the mechanical positive actuation of a pressure-responsive switch utilizes a pivotably movable spring-loaded switch lever which, when activated by a control component movable in relation to the switch, is pivotable out of a lift-off position separate from the switch into a switch-triggering position bearing on the switch which is thereafter maintained in the bearing position. The switch lever is motionally coupled to the control component by spring force until the switch-triggering position is reached. It is possible to trigger the switch at an exact point, the switch lever is made bend-resistant and is pivotable about a joint and spring-loaded in the direction of its switch-triggering actuating advance.

Abstract: The invention relates to a solenoid-valve-controlled injection device, comprising pump and nozzle, for an air-compressing internal combustion engine having an electromagnetically actuatable control valve. The valve stem of the control valve co-operates with a control slide which is designed as an inertia piston and, via its control bore and a bore arrangement in the valve stem, establishes a connection between a fuel injection line leading to the nozzle and a return line in order to divide the injection into a temporally staggered pre- and main injection.
Abstract: Two side pieces, each assigned to one longitudinal side of the vehicle, of rear axle supports for passenger vehicles are customarily connected to one another by two transverse tie bars arranged at a distance from one another, In a known type of vehicle, the rearward transverse tie bar, which is designed to be flexible, as seen in the direction of travel, is provided in front of a body cross-member which is directly adjacent to a spare wheel pan, near the rear crumple zone of the body at the floor. In the case of a crash, the spare wheel strikes the rearward transverse tie bar via the spare wheel pan. To increase this crumple zone in the body floor region, the rearward transverse tie bar is provided with lateral clearance between the body cross-member and the spare wheel pan. The body cross-member can thus be arranged at a correspondingly large distance from the spare wheel pan, and a corresponding free path for the spare wheel can be achieved.

Abstract: An apparatus for the regeneration of a soot-particle filter is located in the exhaust-gas line of an air-compression, fuel-injected internal-combustion engine. The apparatus regenerates the filter using a process which burns off the soot particles in the filter. A device in the intake line is actuable as a function of the engine load and engine speed and controls the cross-section of the intake line. To prevent damage to the soot-particle filter body during a transition of the internal-combustion engine into the deceleration mode, immediately after the transition into the deceleration mode of the internal-combustion engine, the process and apparatus move the device for controlling the intake-line cross-section first out of its open position into a position to reduce the line cross-section to a minimum and thereafter continuously into its open position.
Abstract: Resiliently compliant swivel bearings have particular resilience in one radial direction are used in vehicle construction, for example, for link mounting. An elastomeric spring element is firmly adhered between inner and outer bearing elements. Two diametrically opposite, elongate recesses passing axially through a space between the two bearing elements are molded into the springing element. Two radial webs remaining due to these molded recessed support upright forces, with the maximum radial resilience made possible by the recesses being selected so that the radial webs are not overloaded by shear stress. The outer bearing element is connected in resiliently compliant fashion, in each case adjacent to one of the elongate recesses of the springing element, to a carrier which can be secured on a vehicle part in order to impart to the inner and outer bearing elements a radial resilience greater than the maximum possible radial deflection of the inner bearing element relative to the outer bearing element.
Abstract: An arrangement for the inductive querying of and supplying of power to an isolated circuit having an electrical consuming device. The arrangement uses two isolating transformers each with a read winding to simultaneously compare the resistance of the consuming device with that of a simulation device when powered by a low alternating test current. Te arrangement has two outputs for test voltages corresponding to resistance deviations of the consuming device and the reference element, deviate in opposite directions. A bidirectional crosswise transmission of the testing power and the testing signal for the consuming device and the simulation compensates for tolerances of the transformers. When an increased alternating current is fed, the arrangement also causes the efficient supplying of power to the consuming device and a limiting of the power loss at the simulation.

Abstract: A device for controllably switching a rear fog lamp on a vehicle utilizes a switch located in the current path to sense the current flow of a rear fog lamp of a trailer attached to the vehicle. In order to prevent disturbing reflections of the light of a vehicle rear fog lamp of the trailer into the vehicle interior via a front wall of the trailer, during the connection of a trailer rear fog lamp to the vehicle, the vehicle rear fog lamp is switched off automatically by means of the device, with the trailer rear fog lamp remaining intact.
Abstract: A mechanical injection-pump governor with an electronically controlled torque-control in which, as a function of parameters, a stepping motor controllable by an electronic control device adjusts with its actuator a full-load stop interacting with the quantity-adjustment member of the injection pump. The torque-control movement of the actuator is limited by an end stop situated a short distance above the maximum full-load control path and by an end stop situated a short distance below the minimum full-load control path.
Abstract: A four-stroke internal-combustion engine for a motor vehicle having inlet and exhaust valves is provided with additional outlet valves for each cylinder, which valves are adjustable by means of an actuating device and with a throttle flap arranged in the exhaust outlet, also adjustable by means of an actuating device. The actuating devices are operated by at least one directional valve, in response to actuation of a brake switch. Braking of the internal-combustion engine occurs as a result of the opening of the additional outlet valves and a throttling of the exhaust gases during the braking operation. The braking of the internal-combustion engine is speed-dependent in that engine braking is cancelled below a minimum specified speed.
Abstract: A method controls adjustment devices of a motor vehicle seat. The devices are assigned to the longitudinal movement of the seat and the tilting movement of the seat back and are activated by positioning switching elements to move the motor vehicle seat into predetermined set positions. A switching device corresponding with the seat back blocks the associated adjustment device before the seat back runs into an obstacle lying in its range of adjustment. In order to optimize the motion sequences when a rearward tilting movement of the seat back is initiated by one positioning switching element, shortly before the seat back runs into the obstacle, the adjustment device is blocked from further tilting movement of the seat back and a longitudinal movement of the seat forward is automatically initiated by the switching device.

Abstract: A steering control system executes an automatic intervention in the steering of the rear axle when a .mu.-split condition is detected, in order to stabilize the tracking of the vehicle. The steering always takes place in the direction of the vehicle side on which the higher braking torque is generated; this applies also to cornering, irrespective of whether the lower .mu.-value is on the inside of the bend or on the outside of the bend and, furthermore, irrespective of whether the vehicle is being braked or accelerated.
