    Abstract: A firearm comprises a gas drive for actuating loading and/or firing means in response to the discharge of a round, wherein the gas drive comprises a pneumatic cylinder and a pneumatic piston, the cylinder chamber communicates with the barrel bore through at least one transverse bore in the barrel, and powder gas is adapted to enter said cylinder chamber through said transverse bore and to move said cylinder and piston relative to each other against the force of a return spring. In order to provide a gas drive which is particularly simple and functionally reliable, light in weight and compact, the barrel is provided with a collar or the like, which constitutes a stationary pneumatic piston, and the pneumatic cylinder consists of a sliding sleeve, which surrounds the collar and is longitudinally displaceable between stops.

    Abstract: In an anti-blocking system for a road vehicle with statically pressure-actuatable brake circuits, a pressure modulator with an outlet pressure connected with the wheel brake cylinder is coordinated to each wheel brake, whereby pressure reduction-, pressure build-up and pressure-maintaining-phases of the anti-blocking regulation are attainable by its controllable volume change respectively maintaining constant of its volume. The pressure modulators are constructed as stepped cylinders with bore steps of different diameters passing over one into the other, in which a smaller and a larger control pressure space is movably delimited by piston steps of corresponding different diameters of a stepped piston, as well as the outlet pressure space, which is formed by an annular space remaining between the piston steps. The larger control pressure space is permanently connected with the main brake line of the respective brake circuit.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a power-assisted lock for doors, hatches hoods or hard tops of vehicles and the like. In addition to a known pivotal latch and a catch for a releasable engagement with the pivotal latch there is a control disc pivotally mounted in the housing of the lock. A manual or power actuated drive means is attached to the control disc for the closing and opening operation. The pivotal latch and the control disc have a drive connection providing for limited play. The arrangement together with the catch leads to a locking of the control disc before a closing operation and an unlocking of the control disc by turning the pivotal latch during the closing operation of the lock. The pivotal latch has the usual pre-lock position.

    Abstract: An orthogonally adjustable sight, particularly for rifles, comprises a housing (1), in which a carrier (2) for an eyepiece consisting, e.g., of a peephole sight (3), is mounted for an adjustment in two orthogonal directions. To permit a highly exact adjustment which can easily be effected, the eyepiece carrier (2) comprises a guided plate (6), which has parallel planar surfaces on opposite sides and extends in the plane which is defined by the axes of the actuators (4, 5). The guided plate (6) is adapted to be gripped between two guided surfaces (8a, 9a), which are parallel to the guided plate (6). A polygonal array of balls (7) is interposed between the guided plate (6) and each of said guiding surfaces (8a, 9a).

    Abstract: A heat-insulating lining for a gas turbine which consists of a mat formed of ceramic fibers that is provided on its side facing the hot gas with a metal-oxide-containing layer, especially Al.sub.2 O.sub.3. The mat to be provided with the ceramic layer should possess a gross density of 350 to 450 kg/m.sup.3 and the fibers in the mat which are in contact with the metal oxide-containing layer are to be predominantly so oriented that the longitudinal axis of the fibers forms an angle of 30.degree. to 90.degree. with the metal oxide-containing layer. It is preferred if the fibers form an approximately right angle with the metal oxide-containing layer. The thus made coated heat-insulating linings possess a good mechanical stability with respect to the hot gases as well as an adequate thermo-shock resistance.

    Abstract: A device is provided for reducing the engine torque when shifting up a change-speed gear transmission connected downstream of an internal combustion engine. A final control element for influencing the engine torque is connected to a control circuit and causes a reduction in the engine torque only in the full load range of the internal combustion engine and only above a limit value of the negative changes in engine speed over time. Comparator circuits for positive changes in speed over time are connected to the final control element such that the reduction in engine torque is blocked above a limit value of the positive changes in speed over time. In this way, overshoots triggered by positive changes in speed over time cannot result in a reduction in the engine torque.
