    Abstract: An arrangement for mounting measuring devices of axle measurement equipment with a fastening plate that is adapted to be installed at the vehicle wheel aligned parallel to a flat reference surface of the vehicle axle by means of abutment pins extending through the wheel disk by way of through-openings. An incorrect alignment of the plane of the fastening plate which causes an incorrect adjustment of camber, toe-in or caster, is avoided with a completely satisfactory abutment of all abutment pins at the reference surface.

    Abstract: An electrically dimmable rear-view mirror for motor vehicles of simple and robust construction, suitable for use as an outside mirror or as an interior mirror possessing a transmission layer which is composed of a PLZT ceramic, on which a linear birefringence can be imposed by means of a controlling electric field. The transmission layer is located between a linear polarizer and a reflective layer, the latter being designed as a dielectric multilayer arrangement. Suitable comb-type electrodes are located on that side of the reflective layer which faces away from the transmission layer and, if appropriate, on that side of the polarizer which faces the transmission layer, the function of these comb-type electrodes being to generate the controlling field. The polarizer defines the direction of polarization, which is inclined at 45.degree. with respect to the field direction and/or the optical axis of the transmission layer.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle wheel with internally located emergency wheel, which is composed of a plurality of segments, preferably four segments. The segments have a substantially double T-shaped cross-section. Each segment is clamped in the well-base channel of the wheel rim by means of two clamp screws. In order to facilitate assembly of the emergency wheel, a clear space kept totally free from other installations is provided between the segments and the tire beads supported at the wheel rim. This space permits easy alignability and mobility of the segment pieces in the circumferential direction. Axial grooves on the radial inner sides of the segments, at an interval corresponding approximately to the diameter of the clamp screws, permits the circumferential alignment of the segments during the assembly by means of a screwdriver or the like. The segments are fastened with two screws each.

    Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle is proposed with an opening needle opposed against the flow direction and in which a spring loaded abutment body is guided for longitudinal sliding movement, which body with its free end protrudes into a blind pocket reservoir of the nozzle after a successful injection. Before the beginning of the injection this blind pocket reservoir is opened to open injection holes with different injection directions branching off from the blind pocket reservoir. Through a nozzle embodiment of this kind the damaging space in the blind pocket reservoir is substantially avoided and the proportion of the unburned hydrocarbons is substantially reduced.

    Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the quantity of fuel injected per shot or the beginning of fuel injection in a diesel engine comprises a control rod, which is adjustable by a stepping motor through the intermediary of a resiliently yieldable coupling. The control rod acts to control the injection pump or pumps. In order to provide a structurally simple apparatus which comprises a low-power stepping motor and to eliminate backlash between the cooperating elements of the apparatus, the shaft of the stepping motor carries a camwheel, which is indirectly engaged by the control rod, which is biased by a spring. The resiliently yieldable coupling can be coaxial with the camwheel and adapted to rotate as far as to stop only in one sense of rotation whereas the coupling is rigidly connected to the camwheel for a movement in the other sense of rotation.

    Abstract: An exhaust-gas offtake for a track-guided vehicle propelled by combustion-energy, the exhaust gas being led into a force-ventilated waste gas duct located above the vehicle, which is anchored to the roof of a tunnel along the route followed. The exhaust pipe of the vehicle extends vertically through the vehicle interior, up to a point above the roof, and is surrounded by a protective tube. A collecting funnel is located on the vehicle roof, which funnel overlaps the end of the exhaust pipe, possesses a transfer pipe with a boat-shaped cross-section and, pivotably mounted on suspension elements, is resiliently directed into an upwards-pointed position. This arrangement enables small horizontal and vertical movements of the vehicle body to be compensated in relation to the tunnel waste gas duct.
