  • Patent number: 5240173
Abstract: A product sleeve blank comprises a number of panels hingedly connected toher. The outside panels have interengagement structure associated therewith. One of the outside panels has a premium card detachably joined to an edge thereof along a perforation line. The sleeve blank is sized so that when this outside panel is folded about its hinge line with the adjacent panel, the premium card overlies a further panel between the hinge lines of that panel. The premium card may be affixed to this further panel and then the premium card detached from the outside panel with which it is associated so that the panels may be hinged and the inter-engagement structure engaged to form a sleeve. The premium card may be readily removed by a consumer by being peeled from the panel to which it is affixed.

  • Patent number: 5240696
Abstract: The present invention relates to the prevention of periodontitis by the use of a medicament which contains Triclosan. It has been found that Triclosan has a considerable anti-cyclo-oxygenase activity, thus inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins which are mediators of the loss of alveolar bone in the periodontium. Reducing the formation of said prostaglandins therefore reduces said loss of alveolar bone, which is one of the symptoms connected with periodontitis. The medicament is preferably in the form of a toothpaste.

  • Patent number: 5238209
Abstract: An arrangement for attaching, quickly disconnecting and jettisoning a rocket booster from a core space vehicle. The arrangement includes a housing connected to the booster and having a drive means slidably positioned therewithin and selectively locked to a bearing block connected to the space vehicle core by a lockable collet clutch means. The collet clutch means is unlocked by the drive means in response to a selective pressure to disconnect the booster from the space vehicle core and continued movement of the drive means within the housing forces the drive means into a high force contact with the bearing block, causing a rebound which jettisons the housing and connected booster from the core of the space vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5238374
Abstract: In the extrusion of hollow core concrete slabs, the density profile across the slab is controlled by the vibration of a hammering plate forming one side of a packing chamber through which the concrete is extruded. Vibrations are imparted to the hammering plate by a vibrator that acts to produce vibratory motions in the plate that are not parallel to the direction of extrusion. With two vibrators producing vibratory components both in the direction of extrusion and outwardly to opposite sides of the packing chamber, the flow of concrete to the side edges of the slab is augmented. In an auger-type extruder, this allows the outer augers to be run at a slower speed than otherwise, thus increasing their service life. The vibratory frequency may also be reduced considerably, thus reducing the noise generated by operation of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5235265
Abstract: A multi-level motor load sensing circuit senses first, second and third ranges of auxiliary winding voltage and provides a load-too-high signal for the first range, a load-OK signal for the second range, and a load-too-low signal for the third range, and provides an output which transitions from the load-too-high signal to the load-OK signal to the load-too-low signal as auxiliary winding voltage increases from the first range to the second range to the third range, and which transitions from the load-too-low signal to the load-OK signal to the load-too-high signal as auxiliary winding voltage decreases from the third range to the second to the first range. The output transitions twice during each of rising and falling values of auxiliary winding voltage between the first and third ranges. Hysteresis with improved tracking is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5234569
Abstract: A sensor is disclosed for detecting the relative air/fuel ratio of the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. The sensor includes a housing which defines a closed interior chamber. An oxygen diffusion cell constructed of a solid electrolytic material has one side exposed to the exhaust gas and a second side exposed to the housing chamber so that oxygen ions flow through the diffusion cell in dependence upon the relative oxygen concentration in both the exhaust gas and the internal air chamber. A sense cell constructed of a solid electrolytic material also has one side exposed to the air chamber and a second side exposed to a substantially constant source of oxygen, such as the atmosphere. Thus, oxygen ion flow through the sense cell varies as a function of the oxygen concentration in the air chamber and thus of the oxygen concentration in the engine exhaust gas.
