The edge connector includes a plurality of clamping contact elements, each with at least three contact arms defining at least two insertion openings, one for the rigid substrates and one for flexible film. A fourth arm may be included to define a third insertion opening for a second rigid substrate.
Abstract: A solvent-based thermosetting coating composition comprising a hydroxy functional epoxy ester resin, linear polycaprolactone diol, and blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent. The coating composition may be formulated as hot sprayable, high solids coating composition suitable for use as chip resistant automotive vehicle primer adapted for use on body panel areas subject to chipping by stones, gravel and other road debris. Alternatively, the composition may be formulated as a high solids composition sprayable with conventional spraying equipment. The hydroxy functional epoxy ester resin is formed by reaction of diepoxide, previously chain extended with dicarboxylic acid, with hydroxy functional secondary amine in chain terminating reaction.

Abstract: A centrifuge rotor is formed from an arm having a base portion with enlarged load distributing end regions. The arm and each end region are formed from a plurality of laminae themselves formed of fibers. Each lamina has a direction associated therewith, with the directions of the laminae in each end region defining a predetermined angle with a reference direction defined within the base portion.
Abstract: A new group of cyanine and merocyanine spectral sensitizing dyes based on derivatives of 3-indolizine carboxaldehyde is particularly useful in sensitizing a direct positive silver halide emulsion to orange and red.
Abstract: A connector for a coaxial cable comprising a cap and a bottom insulating plate. The plate has mounted thereon a first and second pair of contact elements. After the end of the cable is properly prepared, the first pair of contact elements is designed to pierce the outer insulation sheath of the cable and electrically contact the outer conductor while the second pair of contact elements is designed to pierce the inner insulation sheath and contact the inner conductor. The cap has inner slots and spaces adapted to receive the contact elements and portions of the cable end so that when the cap is pressed down and latched to the bottom plate, electrical contact is made with the inner and outer conductors and all portions of the inserted cable end are properly supported, thus ensuring adequate strain-relief.
Abstract: An improved antistatic coating for a polyester support bearing a photographic layer is applied in two coatings using conventional coating equipment. The first coating contains an electrically conductive polymer and optionally a binding agent; the second coating contains a crosslinking agent.
Abstract: Grounding of source contacts (S) of flat devices and integrated circuits (of the FET type) is carried out according to the following process steps: a GaAs wafer is applied on a support and is covered on its free or rear face with photoresist; the latter is then etched along the border lines of the single FETs; the GaAs layer between contiguous FETs is removed also to make accessible the contacts S; a layer of noble metal is then deposited on the FET rear faces, so that it bridges the contacts S; the single metallized devices are disconnected from the initial support and finally are soldered to a package base.

Abstract: A small lightweight portable television transmitter having few components and operable with NTSC, PAL and SECAM systems. A one transistor video amplifier receives a gain controlled video signal and adjusts the d.c. level. Common mode noise rejection and sync pulse stretching is provided by a two transistor single ended output differential amplifier. The r.f. modulator combines and emitter follower and a one transistor mixer, with the r.f. applied to the collector and the modulating signals, including video and an audio modulated subcarrier, applied to the base. The transmitter has less than about 210 electrical components, weighs less than 1 kg when constructed with discrete components and substantially less when integrated into a hybrid circuit, yet provides 3 watts minimum peak power.
Abstract: A knife to be mounted in an oscillating tool for cutting through the adhesive that fastens a window pane in place, especially in a motor vehicle. To reduce the risk of damage to its edge and to the window frame or other areas of the vehicle body, the knife has a rest made out of a soft material, especially plastic, associated with at least one side of the blade.
