  • Patent number: 4708980
Abstract: If antimony oxide is added to a blend of polyethylene terephthalate/alkali metal organic carboxylate in the form of a concentrate in a polyamide, the destabilizing effect of the antimony oxide on the blend is minimized. This greatly improves the thermal stability of the polyethylene terephthalate blend during compounding and subsequent melt processing operations, as compared with similar compositions where the antimony oxide is added in the form of a concentrate with another organic polymer, viz., polyethylene, or is added neat.

  • Patent number: 4708416
Abstract: An electrical connecting terminal has an elongated flat base portion. A female contact portion is formed on one end portion in the longitudinal direction of the base portion. A terminal portion is formed on the other end portion of the base portion. The contact portion has a pair of opposing elastic contact segments and a pair of opposing support segments. The segments are supported by the segments and extend toward the terminal portion. A pair of engaging segments, which restrict outward deformation of the contact segments, are formed on an intermediate portion of the base portion. A wrinkle portion is formed on an arbitrary portion of the base portion corresponding to the contact segments, thereby contracting the base portion in its longitudinal direction. Consequently, the distal ends of the contact segments are positioned between the engaging segments. One surface of the wrinkle portion is projected, and the other surface thereof is recessed.

The coating composition may be formulated as hot sprayable, high solids coating composition suitable for use as chip resistant automotive vehicle primer suitable for use on body panel areas subject to chipping by stones, gravel and other road debris. Alternatively, the composition may be formulated as a high solids composition sprayable with conventional spraying equipment. The hydroxy functional epoxy-polyester graft copolymer is the product of polymerization of lactone members in the presence of hydroxy functional epoxy ester resin precursor. The precursor resin is the reaction product of diepoxide chain extended with diphenol and chain terminated with acid component comprising primary hydroxy functional acid. The polymerization of the lactone monomers is carried out at a temperature between about 50.degree. C. and about 300.degree.
