Abstract: An hydroxy functional epoxy-polyester graft copolymer and solvent-based thermosetting coating composition comprising said copolymer and blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent. The coating composition may be formulated as hot sprayable, high solids coating composition suitable for use as chip resistant automotive vehicle primer adapted for use on body panel areas subject to chipping by stones, gravel and other road debris. Alternatively, the composition may be formulated as a high solids composition sprayable with conventional spraying equipment. The hydroxy functional epoxy-polyester graft copolymer is the product of polymerization of certain lactone monomers in the presence of hydroxy functional epoxy ester resin precursor. The precursor resin is the reaction product of diepoxide with aliphatic diol and, subsequently, with acid component comprising primary hydroxy functional acid. The polymerization of the lactone monomers is carried out at a temperature between about 50.degree. C. and about 300.degree.

Abstract: Delay detonators can be made to function reliably at reduced distances from a neighboring detonation by increasing the weight of the detonator's priming charge. Detonators containing about 0.26 g or more of lead azide perform reliably 12.7 cm from a detonation in a shock resistance pipe test, and this performance is reflected in high performance in trenching operations. The higher energy output of the heavier primer charge may compensate for a decrease in the base charge's sensitivity as the detonator shell is deformed or collapsed by shock.
Abstract: A holder for receiving cards with electronically stored data or printed circuit boards. The holder has guide means to receive the card. The holder is provided with a connector with contact springs for contacting connection strips located on the card. One end of each contact spring is clamped while the other is free to move and make contact with the connection strips. The contact springs include the parts formed by bending and shaped so as to minimize pressure and friction against the connection strips of the card.

Abstract: An organoaluminum polymer formed from R.sub.3 Al and R.sub.2 AlNH.sub.2 that is useful for forming shaped articles of inorganic aluminum nitride along or with other nitrides, oxides, carbides or combinations thereof; R being selected from C.sub.x H.sub.2x+1 wherein x is 1 to 10.
Abstract: A compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, hydroxy, alkoxy or aryloxy; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, hydroxy, alkoxy or aryloxy; or wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 taken together is an aromatic ring; R.sub.3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R.sub.4 is lower alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; X is amino, alkylamino, alkanoylamino, oxygen or a single bond; A is CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH or a single bond; and n is an integer from 0 to 9, with the proviso that when A is a single bond, n is an integer from 1 to 9 including all stereoisomers thereof. These new compounds have been found to simultaneously inhibit the arachidonic acid enzymes 5-lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase and as such are useful, for example, as antiinflammatory agents.
Abstract: A rope is pulled between an end member such as a parachute forming a sail with regard to the wind and a main floating anchor located at the other end. This rope is connected at chosen intervals to captive-balloons, each associated with secondary floating anchors. The captive-balloons are chosen to be sensitive to the wind in order to incline themselves with respect to the floating anchor and to respectively support decoys formed by sets of retroreflective trihedrons. Advantageously, the decoys are individually connected in their lower part to floating bodies such as slightly inflated and loaded balloons. The invention has application, in particular, to the simulation of large surface ships.
Abstract: A flexible protective device is formed with a base member of bendable material having a resilient pad on one surface, a thin plastic coating on the opposite surface, and a plurality of bendable arms extending from the base member. The base member of one embodiment is provided with a pivot hinge to allow adaptability to any angular configuration. Another embodiment uses a bendable spine with extensions therefrom. The methods of making and using this protective device are also part of the invention.

Abstract: A band-type abrasive strip and hand tool holder which utilizes the resilience of the holder to enable the band to be applied to the holder or removed and also the same resilience to maintain tension on the band. Modified holders allow difference size bands and a longitudinally split band allows transverse deformation to reach crevices and contours on a workpiece.
Abstract: A digitally-controlled quadrature signal generator is provided having a frequency synthesizer for receiving a digital input signal and in response thereto generating an output signal having a predetermined frequency. The output signal is split to produce an in-phase (I) signal and a quadrature-phase (Q) signal. A first table look-up memory is provided for generating a predetermined phase correction signal for use in cancelling any phase error in the quadrature-phase signal. A mixer receives the phase correction signal and the in-phase signal and in response thereto generates a phase error signal. The phase error signal is then added to the quadrature-phase signal to thereby cancel the undesirable phase error. Moreover, programmable attenuator circuits or limiter circuits are provided to limit the in-phase and quadrature-phase signals and thereby cancel any undesirable amplitude error components therein.
Abstract: The local network comprises a plurality of active nodes (N1 . . . Nn) placed along a folded unidirectional bus (1) which presents a writing branch (1W) and a reading branch (1R). The nodes present means (RR) for network reconfiguration in the presence of a failure, through an isolation of the parts concerned by the failure, through an isolation of the parts concerned by the failure, and for regular service restoration after the repair, and means (GA) for the implementation of an ordered access protocol, which is based on the physical position of the nodes (N1 . . . Nn) and allows hybrid frames to be transmitted through the bus (FIG. 1).
