Abstract: A casing grip assurance interlock system connected with the elevator and the spider of a well casing installation apparatus including positioning valves respectively actuated by the elevator and the spider to permit actuating fluid pressure to be admitted to either the elevator or the spider only when the other of the elevator or spider is positioned to firmly grip the well casing.
Abstract: This invention relates to highly attrition resistant catalysts, catalyst precursors and catalyst supports and to processes for making and using them.
Abstract: The monochromator presents, in the plane of the slit (5), a mirror (6) which reflects the radiations comprised within the spectrum portion selected by the slit (5) towards the grating (3) dispersing a non-monochromatic beam. The radiations reflected recombine into a single, substantially monochromatic beam on the grating (3), and a suitable optical system (7,8) focuses such a beam forming the substantially monochromatic image of the source (1).

Abstract: A mono- and di-saccharide based sweetener composition is provided which consists essentially of a blend of fructose and sucrose. Such sweetener composition is useful for sweetening a wide variety of foodstuffs and other edible formulations. When such sweetener composition is used to sweeten foods, smaller quantities of sweetener is required as compared to that which is needed for equal sweetening power when sucrose is used as the sole sweetening ingredient.

Abstract: An injection mold assembly for formation of thin walled multi-partitioned plastic containers. An Array of cantileveredly mounted and spaced apart cores are extendable into a female mold assembly which includes a pair of side cavity cams and end cavity cams closeable upon the array, but spaced therefrom to form the plastic container therebetween. A plurality of side locking wedge shaped fingers are extendable into the slots spacing the cores apart. The fingers are arranged to extend into the opposite sides of the array of cores in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the array spacing the cores apart while plastic is injected into the assembly by injectors mounted to the female mold. A pair of end pushers contact the two outermost cores in the array limiting outward movement of the cores during the injection step. The end pushers likewise extend in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the array.
Abstract: The terminal assembly of this invention has a terminal carrier comprised of a series of integral, same-shape structures whose shape forms a series of widthwise protuberances, arranged at a predetermined pitch, which constitute the respective longitudinal sides of the terminal carrier. A series of contact terminals extend from either side of each of the protuberances along one longitudinal side of the terminal carrier such that they are supported in the widthwise direction and by a pitch determined by that of the protuberances. Lozenge-shaped through holes are formed in the center of each of the same-shape structures at the point of intersection between an imaginary latitudinal and longitudinal axis. The individual same-shape structures and the terminal carrier as a whole are symmetrical with respect to these axes.
Abstract: A self-erecting end-loading top-dispensing container which is convertible from a substantially flattened configuration for shipping the empty container into an erected box-like configuration for loading product into the container and for shipping loaded containers. By removing a tear-away portion of the top panel, the container is convertible into a tray having an open top for dispensing product. Connecting webs join the end closures of the container to the front and rear side walls, preserving the structural integrity of the container when the removable top is torn away.

Abstract: A compliant terminal comprises a pair of legs facing each other. Each of the legs is provided with an outwardly expanded portion in the intermediate portion. The expanded portions form an elastic contact portion for compressed fitting with a through hole. The leg portion is also provided with a pair of inward projections in the boundary region between the intermediate and free end portions. The inward projections of the two legs are substantially in contact. Therefore when the legs are inserted to the hole, the ends of legs outwardly swing about the contact point of the inward projections, and the compliant terminal is prevented from being withdrawn from the hole.
Abstract: Seamless, molded, thermoplastic articles are disclosed having a laminar, multi-component composition with a heterogeneous blend of incompatible polymers--at least one as a matrix and at least one as a discontinuous phase. Knit lines in the article are curved to obscure seams and increase strength.
Abstract: A plastic container with an inverted V-shaped rim at the upper edge of its body. The rim configuration makes it easy to pour contents from the container and, after pouring, any material remaining on the rim will slide off. A cover with a V-shaped flange mates with the rim which holds it out of contact with the inner and outer surface of the body wall. The cover also has a pocket containing a sealing ring which is passed against the rim by a locking strap to seal the container.

Abstract: Vinyl ether monomers of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 0 or 1 and R is CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2 H.sub.5, precursors thereto, and copolymers with, e.g., tetrafluoroethylene, are provided. The copolymers are useful as electrical insulation and as the sheath portion of optical fibers, and can be converted to known ion exchange polymers having carboxylic groups which are useful, e.g., in the form of permionic membrane for separating the compartments of a chloralkali cell. The vinyl ether monomers can also be converted to vinyl ether monomers which contain carboxylate functional groups, which in turn can be copolymerized to useful copolymers.
Abstract: Procedure to measure the level (14) of a liquid (13) by means of elastic waves, such liquid (13) being contained within an axially moving tube (11) and cooperating with a filler tube (12), the filler tube (12) being used as an element in the transmission of elastic waves to the liquid (13), such elastic waves being picked up (16) outside the axially moving tube (11).Device (10) to carry out the above procedure, which device (10) cooperates with a filler tube (12) and comprises:at least one transducer (15) to transmit energization of the vibration of the filler tube (12), andat least one receiver transducer (16) located outside the axially moving tube (11).

Abstract: A reverse osmosis permeator of the capillary type wherein the tube sheet in which the ends of the capillaries are mounted and the porous support block therefor are slidably mounted on a hollow feed tube mounted in the center of the permeator is disclosed. The invention involves insuring that relative movement between the tube sheet and the support block does not occur during shut down of the permeator. This can be done by hydraulic pressure, spring loading, or mechanical attachment such as one or more bolts.

Abstract: A light string system is provided having a plurality of mono-color or bi-color light-emitting diodes electrically connected thereto. Each light-emitting diode has a generally elongated, hollow envelope mounted thereover, and the envelope is substantially filled with light-conducting optical spheres or even fragments. The envelope may be additionally filled with light-conducting epoxy, light-conducting liquid or light-conducting gas and sealed for improved light transmission and dispersion characteristics. The light-emitting diodes may include an improved base with light-emitting diode leads disposed approximately perpendicular to the axis of the envelope for bulb stability and for enabling the bulb to stand upright on the branches. Both the envelope and the optical spheres include light-conducting glass or plastic material. The spheres may be either hollow or spherical and may be of a uniform or a mixed size.
