Abstract: Particulate detergent compositions are prepared by (a) forming an aqueous crutcher slurry having a total solids content of from about 40 to about 80 weight percent on a total weight basis and comprising a surfactant ingredient, al least about 0.1 weight percent (surfactant weight basis) of which is a glycoside surfactant; a builder ingredient; water; and, optionally, a filler ingredient and (b) thereafter drying said aqueous crutcher slurry. In an especially preferred embodiment, the glycoside surfactant is employed as an additive in a relatively small but effective amount (i.e., corresponding to less than about 2 weight percent on a dry solids weight basis) to provide reduced viscosity and/or enhanced homogeneity to the crutcher slurry compositions of interest.

Abstract: Pontoons along both sides of the vehicle can be filled with either air or water, at the user's preference. When the pontoons are filled with air the vehicle floats in water and is driven along the water surface by a propeller and also by a tread drive. When the pontoons are filled with water the vehicle sinks in water and is driven along the bottom by, again, the propeller and treads. In either event when the vehicle comes to a dry surface it continues to be driven along that surface by the treads. The pontoons are provided with a hole and plug for use in filling or draining them. Preferably the interior spaces of the pontoons communicate through a cross-connection chamber that rougly equalizes the amount of water in the two pontoons, so that the vehicle has minimal tendency to capsize or ride in the water at a cant. An unusual two-worm-and-worm-gear drive train provides power to the tread drivers both fore and aft with high mechanical advantage and very few moving parts.

The copolymer has a number average molecular weight between about 1000 and about 15,000, has a hydroxyl number between about 30 and about 300, and is the reaction product of carbon-carbon double bond-reactive monoethylenically unsaturated monomer with hydroxy functional carbon-carbon double bond-bearing branched polysiloxane macromer. The macromer is the reaction product of (i) epoxy monomer having the formula: ##STR1## with (ii) hydroxy functional polysiloxane reactant containing 0-10 urethane linkages per molecule.
Abstract: A converter of the rate of flow of a fluid is disclosed with a measuring chamber having a smooth internal outer surface and a cylindrical casing, disposed in the base of the eternal casing of the converter. An inlet chamber of a damper is formed from the side of a flexible membrane in the converter. Between the cylindrical casing and the base of the external casing, a free (clear) annular space is provided. On the external wall of the first half of said chamber there is a hole, while on the external wall of the other half of said chamber there is a compensation hole disposed in front of the tangential inlet of the cylindrical measuring chamber. A turbine wheel, disposed inside the chamber, has flat rectangular blades. In the axial outlet of the cylindrical measuring chamber, a guiding element is disposed with bottom and top transverse bases having the shape of circular sectors.

Abstract: A network for supplying identical biasing voltages and programmable direct currents to a plurality of mutually similar transceivers, connected across respective transmission lines, is integrated with the associated transceivers in a common semiconductor body and comprises a generator of fixed reference voltage determined by the band gap of the semiconductor. The reference voltage is applied in parallel to the bases of several NPN transistors emitting the same biasing voltage as a result thereof. This reference voltage also drives an NPN pilot transistor lying in series with an external resistor through which it draws a small programmed current. Through two cascaded amplification stages formed by NPN transistors operating in the ECL mode, with the second stage designed as a multiple-output current mirror, the programmed current is stepped up to provide the several direct currents required by the associated transceivers.

Abstract: Power is fed to a plurality of loads by a respective plurality of circulating current type cycloconverters connected to an ac power supply. A power compensating capacitor common to the cycloconverters is provided at the ac power receiving-end to deliver a leading reactive power to the ac power supply. Further, each cycloconverter is provided with means for delivering a circulating current and means for delivering a circulating current command value to the circulating current control means. A lagging reactive power corresponding to the leading reactive power by the power factor compensating capacitor is delivered to the ac power supply. The power factor compensating capacitor may be configured so that its capacity is variable by changing the number of stages connected. In addition, the circulating current command value may vary depending upon the peak value of the current flowing in each cycloconverter.

Abstract: A "flying field" computer aided interactive microscopical mapping system has been developed that enables an operator to map over a region of the specimen covering many microscopical fields of view without the discontinuities associated with moving the stage and then generating mapping marks as separate and discrete operations. By fixing the mark generation point at a single location on the display device corresponding to the instantaneous intersection of the microscope's optical axis with the specimen stage, a trail of marks are produced that move in unison with the stage motion to remain superimposed with the viewed live specimen image. The points thus recorded are available for later display and analysis.
