  • Patent number: 7114402
Abstract: According to an embodiment of the invention, a sensor element device for a capacitive contact switch can be formed from a foam body with several portions. There are electrically conductive areas with a sensor element surface and an electrical contact face, as well as insulating areas. The sensor element surfaces engage from below on a glass ceramic plate. The areas can be interconnected in cylindrically elongated and juxtaposed manner. This leads to a type of strand material from which with the predetermined spacing it is possible to produce juxtaposed, capacitive sensor elements as parts of contact switches.

  • Patent number: 7117365
Abstract: In a method for generating a second data stream from a first data stream, which comprises a first header and a first payload data block with payload data, the first header is initially extracted from the first data stream. Subsequently the second header for the second data stream is generated. Then, at least a part of the first header is entered into the second header, the part of the first header including information, which allows conclusions as to the origin of the payload data. Finally, the second payload data block is generated, which comprises the same payload data, so as to obtain the complete second data stream. The method according to the invention enables device-specific encrypting of payload data, a flexible, device-specific “copy” for other devices of a user and, in particular, complete documentation of the origin of the present copy, such that effective copyright protection may be realized.

  • Patent number: 7116466
Abstract: An electrophoretic display comprises an electrophoretic medium having a plurality of charged particles suspended in a suspending fluid, and two electrodes disposed on opposed sides of the electrophoretic medium. At least one of the electrodes is light-transmissive and forming a viewing surface. The display has a closed optical state in which the charged particles are spread over substantially the entire viewing surface so that light cannot pass through the medium, and an open optical state in which the electrophoretic particles form chains extending between the electrodes so that light can pass through the electrophoretic medium. Insulating layers are disposed between the electrodes and the electrophoretic medium. Similarly electrophoretic displays are provided equipped with color filter arrays or reflectors.

  • Patent number: 7114380
Abstract: A method is described for determining geometric errors of a rotary encoder with a plurality of increments that can be registered by a sensor, encoder being applied to an internal combustion engine and being mounted on a shaft which can be directly or indirectly set in motion by gas moments and moments of inertia. The invention profile of the angular velocity ?mess(t) of the shaft is measured for a time-variable shaft speed, that the shaft speed signals obtained during the measurement are averaged and that the averaging process is carried out within a shaft speed range in which the effects of the gas moments and moments of inertia, which act on the shaft in the internal combustion engine, on the angular velocity of the crankshaft cancel each other out statistically, at least to a great extent and that geometric errors of the rotary encoder are determined on the basis of the profile of the angular velocity ?mess(t).

  • Patent number: 7115885
Abstract: In a method for multi photon excitation of a sample a laser beam is split into at least two coherent partial beams each having a beam axis and a same intensity distribution about its beam axis. The partial beams are directed from different directions towards a common measuring plane running transversely to the beam axes at an inclination angle <1 between the beam axes of the partial beams; and the partial beams are projected onto the measuring plane by means of a common lens system. Thus, an interference pattern formed by the coherent partial beams within the measuring plane provides areas of maximum light intensity adjacent to areas of minimum light intensity.
