  • Patent number: 7088108
Abstract: In a method for detecting an offset drift in a resistive Wheatstone measuring bridge, a switch is made between a measuring mode and a testing mode without interfering in the internal structure of the measuring bridge. In testing mode, two sensor resistors that act in the same way and lie in different bridge arms in the measuring mode are connected in series, and a voltage level occurring in the connection of these sensor resistors is compared with a reference voltage. Preferably the sensor resistor that acts in a different way and lies between the two series-connected sensor resistors acting in the same way is bridged. The reference voltage is advantageously formed by resistive division of the voltage applied to the series connection of the sensor resistors. The testing mode may expediently be switched in such a way that the two pairs of sensor resistors acting in the same way are respectively tested in succession.

  • Patent number: 7087336
Abstract: A method for producing a solid electrolyte layer, of a fully stabilized zirconium oxide layer on a substrate includes adding a sintering additive to a ZrO2-starting material, a liquid phase is formed during a sintering process and liquid phase sintering is possible at a reduced temperature in comparison with the required sintering temperature without the sintering additive. The reduced sintering temperature substantially prevents the formation of a foreign phase layer between the substrate and the gas-tight layer applied thereon, being of fully stabilized ZrO2. The method is particularly suitable for producing a solid electrolyte layer on a cathode of a high temperature fuel cell and in a sensor.

  • Publication number: 20060170920
Abstract: A diffraction grating and a prism with the appropriate characteristics are employed to provide a combined dispersive characteristic that is substantially linear over the visible spectrum. Radiation from the grating and prism is collimated by a lens towards a detector array. The grating or a telecentric stop between the grating and prism is placed at a focal point of the lens in a telecentric arrangement so that equal magnification is achieved at the detector array. If the detector array is replaced by a plurality of optical channels, a multiplexer/demultiplexer is obtained. A one or two dimensional detector array may be used for detecting the characteristics of a radiation beam. Alternatively, a one or two dimensional array of optical channels may be employed in a multiplexer or demultiplex arrangement with a single output/input optical channel.
