Abstract: New carboxyalkylacylamino acids which have the general formula ##STR1## are useful as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors. The compounds claimed in this application are those wherein R.sub.1 is 3-indolyl-lower alkylene.
Abstract: A three-dimensional toy representation of a figure such as an animal, e.g. a goat, which includes an outer body and a head pivotally mounted on the body which may be manually shifted between an upright and a lower position. The head includes an opening representative of a mouth and a conveyer mechanism inside the body extends into the head and has a portion located close to the mouth opening. Articles representative of solid or relatively solid "food," such as carrots, tin cans, etc., can be introduced into the mouth. The articles may be physically grasped by the conveyer mechanism and moved into an interior compartment. A portion of the path of movement of the articles may be upward or partially upward. The conveyer mechanism can be operated by manually actuating a portion of the animal figure, such as reciprocatively shifting a tail thereon.

Abstract: An image reproduction process which comprises (1) exposing imagewise to actinic radiation a photosensitive element comprising a cover sheet, a photoadherent layer, and a solvent-soluble, contiguous layer, (2) stripping the cover sheet from the element with either the exposed or unexposed areas of the photoadherent layer adhered to the cover sheet while the other areas of the photoadherent layer remain on the contiguous layer, and (3) washing out the bared areas of the contiguous layer.
Abstract: N-(heterocyclicaminocarbonyl) arylsulfamates, such as phenyl[(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)-aminocarbonyl]-sulfamate or 2-chlorophenyl[(4-methoxy-6-methylpyrimidin-2-yl)-aminocarbonyl]sulfamate, are useful for plant growth retardation, brush control and weed control in crops.
Abstract: Herbicidal compounds of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl;R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, methoxy or cyanomethyl; and p1 R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together can be --(CH.sub.2).sub.4 --, provided that when R.sub.2 is alkyl of 3 or 4 carbon atoms, methoxy or cyanomethyl, R.sub.1 cannot be ethyl.
Abstract: This invention relates to novel compositions containing a compound of formula I ##STR1## with a chelating agent capable of tying up essentially all of the calcium ion in aqueous spray water solution. These compositions are useful as plant growth regulants.
Abstract: Imidazolylethoxy derivatives of pyridin-5-methanols having the general formula ##STR1## and their acid addition salts are useful as antifungal and antibacterial agents.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for taking up label stock slack as it is advanced out of a printer or other source of labels and locating the label stock properly with respect to the vacuum platen of an applicator for receiving the label then applying it. When the label has been advanced to a location adjacent said vacuum platen, a separate drive pulls the label backing through a stripping device leaving the label in a position released from its backing so that it can be propelled to and acquired by the vacuum platen of the label applicator simultaneously with its release from the backing.
Abstract: Magnetic printing process, and apparatus for carrying out same, comprising:(a) forming a magnetic image on a ferromagnetic material which is imposed on an electrically conductive support and subjecting the ferromagnetic material to the action of a static neutralizing means;(b) developing the magnetic image by decorating same with a ferromagnetic toner comprising a ferromagnetic component and a resin which substantially encapsulates the ferromagnetic component; and(c) transferring the developed image to a substrate.

Abstract: The foaming tendencies of continuous liquid-solid reactions which evolve gas are reduced by subjecting the reactant stream simultaneously to non-turbulent flow through an enclosed conduit having a vapor space above the flowing stream and to mild agitation to increase the liquid-solid and gas-liquid interface areas.
Abstract: Highly filled thermoplastic compositions useful as sound-deadening sheeting for automotive carpet are obtained by blending about 5-50% by weight of an ethylene interpolymer, such as ethylene/vinyl ester, ethylene/unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic acids or esters of said unsaturated acids, etc.; about 2-15% by weight of processing oil; and about 50-90% by weight of filler.
Abstract: Solid, unvulcanized neoprene pieces are packed in thermoplastic bags compatible with neoprene; the bags are closed by means of a compatible synthetic polymer stitch, coated on one of their large surfaces with a hot melt adhesive for easy stacking on a pallet, and are delivered directly to rubber compounding equipment, where the bags are shredded, while neoprene is being compounded. In this manner, opening and emptying of kraft paper bags is avoided. Typical thermoplastic bags are made of low density polyethylene and the thread of polyvinyl alcohol.
Abstract: Centrifuge tube cap has a plug which fits into the open end of the tube. A reduced diameter stud on the plug has an axial bore and extends outside of the tube thereby forming a shoulder at the lip of the tube. The peripheral portion of the shoulder is beveled. An annular cap is placed over the open tube end and stud portion of the plug and secured thereto by a nut which, when tightened, wedges the tube wall between the cap and the shoulder portion of the plug. The cap has a downwardly extending skirt whose inner wall is flared outwardly. This wedging action compresses the wall of the tube between the plug and the cap thereby forming a seal. A post fill screw is threaded into the central bore formed in the plug.
Abstract: N-(heterocyclicaminocarbonyl)arylsulfonamides, such as N-[(4-methoxy-6-methylamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-aminocarbonyl]benzenesulfo namide, are useful for the regulation of plant growth and as herbicides, particularly for controlling volunteer corn in soybeans.
Abstract: Anti-inflammatory 4,5-diaryl-2-(substituted-thio)imidazols and their corresponding sulfoxides and sulfones useful for treating arthritis and related diseases.
