Abstract: A method and system for an automated trading network that continuously collects invisible, anonymous, binding orders and indications of interest to buy and sell specific equity securities at variable, passively determined prices and, then, executes trades based on these collected orders and indications. In general, the binding orders are collected from retail broker-dealers and the binding indications are collected from institutions. The variable, passively determined, non-discrete prices can be linked to the National Best Bid or Offer (NBBO) for each security, or some other prevailing market indicator, at the time a trade is executed. In an embodiment of the method and system, marketable retail orders which match with one or more collected institutional indications, are routed from a Dynamic Order Router (DOR) at each broker-dealer to a Central Order-Match Box (COMB) to be executed against the one or more matched collected institutional indications.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system presenting site-specific accumulation through a ligand that specifically targets a receptor overexpressed on the surface of specific cells within a target organ, like, for example, tumor cells and/or vascular cells of tumor blood vessels. Moreover, this invention provides a method where, upon internalization of the previous-mentioned system by the target cells, triggered release at a high rate of the associated agent takes place, permitting efficient intracellular delivery and, thus, increased concentration of the transported cargo at the target site. Overall, this invention provides a method for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of human diseases and disorders.

Abstract: Processes for the synthesis of lipochitooligosaccharides were developed. A fully acylated oligoglucosamine precursor is prepared and reacted with a glucosamine monomer that has an amine protecting phthaloyl group. With removal of the phthaloyl group, a fatty acid may be added on the terminal glucosamine unit, forming a lipochitooligosaccharide. The processes can be adapted for use on a commercial scale.

Optionally, the hyperbranched polymer may further comprise polymer units derived from one or more 1-alkenes and/or a chain transfer agent. A process to prepare the hyperbranched polymer comprises contacting maleic anhydride with at least one terminally unsaturated acyclic aliphatic diene having at least 7 carbon atoms in the presence of an effective amount of a radical initiator in an aprotic solvent under dilute conditions.

Abstract: Acyl-CoA binding protein [“ACBP”] binds thiol esters of long fatty acids and coenzyme A in a one-to-one binding mode with high specificity and affinity. This protein is expected to play an important role in altering lipid production in oleaginous microbial organisms. Knock-out of the protein in the oleaginous yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica, results in a decrease in the total lipid content, while overexpression results in an increase in the total lipid content of the recombinant Yarrowia cells.

Abstract: The water heating flow detection system for a beverage maker includes a heater control logic circuit that controls heating in response to temperature and flow conditions in the beverage maker. A heater control logic circuit receives a temperature detection signal and a flow detection signal, and generates a water heater control signal for controlling operation of one or more water heaters. A flow detection device may be connected to the hot water outlet conduit or the cold water inlet conduit, and may include a magnetic flow detection device. A faucet lever position detection device may also be used to indicate flow through a faucet outlet valve.
Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus and process for forming a printing form from a photosensitive element having an exterior surface and a composition layer capable of being partially liquefied. The apparatus includes a displaceable heater for heating the composition layer, means for removing at least a portion of the composition layer from the element, and means for displacing the displaceable heater to a predetermined distance from the exterior surface. Positioning the displaceable heater at the predetermined distance assures reproducible removal of the liquefied composition from the various types of photosensitive elements that can be thermally treated in the apparatus, resulting in the printing forms having improved relief surface uniformity.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for operating a thermal imaging camera for selective temperature imaging, and a thermal imaging system having a selective temperature imaging mode. When first entering the selective temperature imaging mode of operation, the system and method automatically determine the hottest area in a scene and display it in a predetermined hue. The remainder of the scene is displayed in grayscale. The method and system allow further adjustment of the set point of the selective temperature imaging mode, and display portions of the scene as hot as or hotter than the set point value in gradient shades of the predetermined hue.
