  • Patent number: 6508922
Abstract: A process for the production of a multi-layer coating, wherein a primer layer which is electrically conductive in the at least partially cured state is applied by electrodeposition from an electrodeposition coating agent (I) to an electrically conductive three-dimensional object, at least partially cured exclusively by the action of near infra-red radiation substantially only on the surfaces of the object exposed to the radiation, and an additional coating layer is applied by electrodeposition from an electrodeposition coating agent (II) which is different from electrodeposition coating agent (I), and then this additional coating layer as well as completely uncured or incompletely cured area parts of the primer layer produced from electrodeposition coating agent (I) are cured.

  • Patent number: 6509439
Abstract: A process for producing polyamides from dinitriles and diamines in a continuous reaction using subsequent heating steps. In particular, the process involves contacting a dinitrile, a diamine, water, and optionally a catalyst to form a reaction mixture; heating the reaction mixture to a first elevated temperature of between about 180 to about 240° C., maintaining said temperature for about 0.10 to about 20 hours, and optionally controlling the pressure in this heating step by venting; heating the reaction mixture to a second elevated temperature of between about 250 to about 350° C., adding water to the reaction mixture before or after the second elevated temperature is reached, maintaining the pressure in the second heating step above atmospheric pressure by venting at least some of the water, and maintaining the second elevated temperature for a period of about 0.10 to about 10 hours; and recovering the polyamide.

  • Patent number: 6508262
Abstract: A folding tent frame for collapsible tents includes upright pole sets, fixed couplers, stoppers, movable couplers and traverse frame members. Specifically, each stopper is provided on the uppermost pole of the upright pole set at a position lower than the fixed coupler so as to prevent the lower pole of the upright pole set from moving up beyond the stopper and so that the movable coupler is slidable over the stopper and the lowest pole of the upright pole set, and is kept from moving up beyond the stopper. The lower pole is larger than the upper pole in cross section. The structure of this folding tent frame provides improved strength and stability.
