  • Publication number: 20090071218
Abstract: A die cushion apparatus of a press machine in which a discharge opening of a fluid hydraulic pump/motor is directly connected to a pressure chamber on a cushion pressure production side of a fluid hydraulic cylinder and the torque of a rotating shaft of the fluid hydraulic pump/motor is controlled by an electric motor to control a pressure (die cushion pressure) of the pressure chamber on the cushion pressure production side. It is therefore possible to control the die cushion pressure with excellent responsiveness with respect to a die cushion pressure command and prevent occurrence of a surge pressure. The die cushion apparatus also has excellent energy efficiency since energy required for a die cushioning action that a cushion pad receives when effecting die cushioning of a press machine is regenerated as electrical energy through the fluid hydraulic cylinder, fluid hydraulic pump/motor, and electric motor.

  • Publication number: 20090071392
Abstract: An indicator suitable for signaling restricted flow of a fluid through a filter mounted in a filter indicator includes a housing having an inner cavity. A diaphragm disposed within the housing separates the inner cavity into first and second chambers and deflects from a neutral position in response to applied pressures within the first and second chambers. A tab assembly opposite the diaphragm includes a spring-loaded flag moveable from a first position within the housing to a second position outside the housing. A pin operably coupled to the diaphragm holds the spring-loaded flag within the housing when the diaphragm is in the neutral position. In response to the diaphragm being deflected sufficiently from the neutral position to release the pin, the spring-loaded flag travels to the second position outside of the housing, thereby indicating a restrictive flow condition for the filter.

  • Patent number: 7505556
Abstract: An inspection system based upon an imaging enclosure characterized by an enclosing body, or skin. A source of penetrating radiation and a spatial modulator for forming the penetrating radiation into a beam, are both concealed entirely within the body of an enclosure such as a shipping container for convenient operational deployment. Multiple modules, such as for providing power and for enclosing an operator console may be coupled to the imaging enclosure. An image is formed of the contents of the object based in part on the scatter signal and the relative motion signal. A detector, which may be separate or part of the scatter detector module, may exhibit sensitivity to decay products of radioactive material.

  • Patent number: 7503721
Abstract: A coupling mechanism includes column-shaped plugs having engagement grooves, cylindrical sockets movable to and from the plugs in the axial direction, slip-proof members which are engaged with the engagement grooves of the plugs to prevent the plugs from slipping out of the sockets and sliding cylinders slidably fitted to the outside of the sockets in the axial direction of the plugs to enable the slip-proof members to engage with the engagement grooves. In operation, first spring members always urge the sliding cylinders in a direction to engage the slip-proof members with the engagement grooves. When cams of cam mechanisms rotates, the sliding cylinders are moved in opposition to the urging of the first spring members, so that the connection between the display units is released.

  • Patent number: 7504806
Abstract: Provided are methods for controlling operation of a voltage regulator of a single-phase of a three-phase power system to regulate a measured voltage. One of the methods includes recording a first elapsed time between detecting a first excursion of the measured voltage from an in-band area to an out-of-band area, and a first return of the measured voltage to the in-band area. The method also includes recording a second elapsed time period (dip period) between detecting the first return and a second excursion of the measured voltage from the in-band area to an out-of-band area. If the second elapsed time period is less than a predetermined dip time period, causing a tap position change of the voltage regulator upon expiration of a countdown period initiated upon detecting the first excursion, thereby adjusting the measured voltage to the in-band area while allowing a voltage drop of limited length.

  • Patent number: 7503608
Abstract: Provided is a lead-in structure of a front console side panel for guiding the assembly thereof to a driver side lower panel. The lead-in structure includes a substrate having an elongated aperture and a plurality of lead-in bumps, whereas the lead-in bumps are spaced apart and aligned in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the aperture. The lead-in bumps collectively have a lead-in surface and are connected onto the substrate and separated from the aperture by a distance. The lead-in bumps optionally are merged to form a singly elongated bump. The angle between the lead-in surface and the aperture is greater than 90 degree, preferably greater than 110 degrees, and more preferably greater than 130 degrees. The number of the lead-in bumps aligned is an integer between 2 and 10. Alternatively, the lead-in bumps are resiliently deformable so as to minimize contact friction during panel assembly.

  • Patent number: 7504465
Abstract: The present invention is related to a linear functional polymer having repeating units A, B and D. Unit A represents —CH2—, unit B represents and unit D represents where R1 represents a polar functional group. There are at least four A units separating each B unit, each D unit, and each B and D unit. The value y represents the total number of B units and is an integer greater than or equal to 1. The total number of D units is represented by h and is an integer greater than or equal to 0. And x represents the total number of A units and is an integer sufficient that the molar fraction of the B and D units in the linear functional polymer is represented by a value j defined by the equation: j = y + h x + y + h ? 0.032 . The present invention is also directed to a method for preparing such linear functional polymers by copolymerizing a first polar substituted monomer and a second non-polar unsubstituted monomer.

  • Patent number: 7504258
Abstract: The disclosure provides methods and composition to build living tissue covered stents and the like. These tissue coated stents provide a barrier against cell migration to the lumen of the vessel. Since the tissue can surround and envelope the stent, foreign body responses to the stent material are reduced and delayed. The tissue coating is also relatively impermeable to transmural flow, so the wrapped stent can act as a bypass vessel. The tissue is also robust enough to act as a stand alone vessel, without requiring the presence of the metallic stent. These stents can be endothelialized to reduce thrombosis. The genetic modifications described in this disclosure allow for functional organs to be built that express agents that are anti-restenotic or anti-thrombogenic. The use of tissue manipulation devices further allows for the assembly of complex tissue engineered organs.

  • Patent number: 7503289
Abstract: An enhanced heat exchanger (10) consists of a tube (11) receiving heat from an external source. A fluid (F) to be heated flows through the free area created between the body (12, 12?), introduced inside the tube (11), and the tube itself. Both the tube (11) and the body (12, 12?) heat the fluid (F). The body transfers to the fluid the energy received by the tube (11) by all the lo three modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection and radiation.
