  • Patent number: 7521642
Abstract: A switch assembly for an automotive power window having a housing and an actuator with two spaced-apart ends pivotally mounted to the housing about a transverse axis extending across a central portion of the actuator. The actuator includes a first actuator surface extending between the axis on one end of the actuator and a second actuator surface extending between the axis and the other end of the actuator. The actuator is pivotal in a first direction from a rest position by depression of the first actuator surface and is pivotal in the opposite direction from the rest position and to a second position upon depression of the second actuator surface. The second actuator surface is recessed within the housing in an amount sufficient to prevent actuation of the actuator to its second position by a sphere having a radius greater than or equal to 19 millimeters which approximates the size of a child's knee.

  • Patent number: 7520743
Abstract: With the disclosed device, some or all of the available oil tank vent gas in a production system can be utilized to augment the primary fuel gas needed by a heater treater unit to separate the gas, oil, and water fractions from raw natural gas extracted at the wellhead. Augmenting the primary fuel gas with vent gas reduces the demand for primary fuel gas, which thereby increases the amount of gas traversing a meter. The disclosed device also provides for an auxiliary burner unit that can directly address any available oil tank vent gas that is not utilized to augment fuel gas as waste gas. A method and apparatus for reducing the venting of raw natural gas emissions from an oil storage tank is described.

  • Patent number: 7521686
Abstract: A directional fast neutron detector having superposed layers of a hydrogenous non-scintillating material for generating recoil protons, a non-hydrogenous scintillating material for generating scintillations, and a non-hydrogenous non-scintillating barrier material, in which the layers are placed in a specific order at regular intervals and the composition and thickness of the layers can be varied in order to alter the efficiency and sensitivity of the system. The detector exhibits both intrinsic and geometric directionality. The intrinsic directionality will depend primarily on the materials selected and the thicknesses of the individual layers, while the geometric directionality will depend primarily on the size and shape of detector. The detector of the invention provides a compact, relatively easy to use, directional neutron detector for use in locating and monitoring special nuclear materials and other sources of fast neutrons.
