Patent number: 8831849Abstract: Detecting traffic signaling of a mobile environment includes receiving image frames captured by an imaging device to detect a traffic signal candidate therefrom based on at least a vehicle location. A score having a predefined value is established for the traffic signal candidate. The traffic signal candidate is tracked by incrementing the score when the traffic signal candidate is determined to appear, based on a probabilistic estimator that indicates an expected value for a location of the traffic signal candidate, in a tracked image frame of the captured image frames. The score is decremented when the traffic signal candidate is determined not to appear, based on the probabilistic estimator, in the tracked image frame. The traffic signal candidate is recognized as a traffic signal based on whether the score is above a specified threshold.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2012Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.Inventors: Avdhut S. Patent number: 8828218Abstract: This invention provides methods for multi-stage hydroprocessing treatment of FCC naphthas for improving the overall production quantity of naphtha boiling-range materials during naphtha production for low sulfur gasolines. Of particular benefit of the present processes is the selective treating of cat naphthas to remove gums instead of undercutting the overall naphtha pool by lowering the end cutpoints of the cat naphtha fraction. This maximizes the amount of refinery cat naphtha that can be directed to the gasoline blending pool while eliminating existing processing problems in hydrodesulfurization units. The processes disclosed herein have the additional benefit of minimizing octane losses in the increased naphtha pool volume.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2012Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: ExxonMobil Research and Engineering CompanyInventors: John Peter Greeley, Timothy Lee Hilbert, William Joseph Novak, Rohit Garg

Patent number: 8826659Abstract: PCV systems are well known in the art and commonly used in turbocharged engines. The ejector creates a pressure drop for additional pull of PCV gas under boosted conditions of the turbocharger engine. The ejector typically includes a first inlet and a second inlet and a sole outlet. The first inlet pulls air from the compressor of the PCV system. The second inlet pulls air from the cyclone separator of the PCV system. Air exiting the ejector is exited to the intake manifold. However, when the turbocharger of the system is off, fresh air can leak in from the inlet from the oil separator thereby preventing the ventilation of blowby. The unwanted air reduces the efficiency of the turbocharger system. Accordingly, an ejector preventing unwanted fresh air flow is needed in the art.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2011Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.Inventor: Tenghua Tom Shieh
