  • Patent number: 6934165
Abstract: A new power supply topology is described consisting of an input h-bridge or half-h-bridge, a low coupling coefficient transformer such as an air core transformer, a secondary resonant circuit, and a voltage multiplier which includes a series output capacitance. The topology is advantageous for high voltages since the reduced coupling leads to large spacings reduced insulation requirements.

  • Patent number: 6932041
Abstract: In a variable phased valve lifter of an internal combustion engine, a roller lifter is allowed to move along a constraining face of a constraining mechanism in a first direction, and the constraining mechanism is allowed to move freely in a second direction. As the roller lifter moves through its arcuate path, the flat surface(s) of the roller lifter will slide across the constraining face(s) of the constraining mechanism, and end members of the constraining mechanism slide fore-and-aft in at least one stationary block. The roller lifter is thus prevented from rotating about its longitudinal axis as it moves in arcuate fashion in cooperation with the constraining mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6934210
Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor memory circuit capable of reducing current consumption at non-operation in a system equipped with a plurality of chips that share the use of a power supply, address signals and a data bus. The semiconductor memory circuit has an internal circuit which is capable of selectively performing the supply and stop of an operating voltage via switch means and includes a memory array. An input circuit, which receives a predetermined control signal therein, controls the supply and stop of the operating voltage by the switch means to reduce a DC current and a leak current when no memory operation is done, whereby low power consumption can be realized.

  • Patent number: 6931826
Abstract: A machine for turning material piled on the ground in a windrow comprises first and second track assemblies spaced apart from one another and having a lift assembly therebetween. The lift assembly lifts the material upwardly and deposits it to the rear. The first and second track assemblies are individually driven so as to eliminate bending forces on the intermediate lifting assembly. Extensible belt tensioners are provided for tensioning the belt, and these extensible belt tensioners are protected from the material being elevated and aerated. The method involves moving the belt assembly along a first pit containing the material to be composted and then reversing the belt assembly for returning in the opposite direction along an adjacent pit containing materials.

  • Patent number: 6934654
Abstract: A measured phasor representing a sinusoidal power signal waveform is produced by orthogonal FIR filters, one of which produces the real part of the phasor and the other of which produces the imaginary part. The frequency difference between the rated frequency of the signal waveform in the power system and the actual frequency of the waveform at any selected point in time is determined and the elements (A, B, C, D) of a compensation matrix is determined. The compensation matrix is then used to perform a linear transformation to produce an exact phasor for the waveform.

  • Patent number: 6931977
Abstract: A protective device for a field apparatus includes first and second lateral plates, each plate having a top end and a bottom end. The first and second lateral plates are opposingly situated to mutually support each other in an A-shaped structure. In this A-shaped structure, the top ends are coupled together by at least one coupling device substantially at the apex of the “A”, and the bottom ends are coupled together by a fastening assembly. The bottom fastening assembly acts to restrain the rending of the A-shaped structure by a force generated from debris striking the first or second lateral plate. Each lateral plate also has a handle positioned in proximity to the top end. When a user grabs both handles, the A-shaped structure collapses for storage. The protective device further includes a transmission line and a device for transmitting and receiving radio waves to an electromagnetic field apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6933719
Abstract: This invention is a method to measure fluid flow properties of a porous medium, including, but not limited to, the fluid flow permeability. In a preferred embodiment, the measurements are made down hole in drill wells exploring for hydrocarbons or acquifers. The measurement involves two types of instruments. One instrument creates a pressure wave in the porous medium, which generates motion of the fluid in the pore space. The second instrument measures the fluid motion in the pore space using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) methods. Any type of instrument that can generate a pressure gradient is suitable, including instruments that are remote from the NMR instrument. Magnetic field gradients can be used to localize the NMR signal to a specific region within the porous medium. The magnetic field gradient also provides the method by which the fluid motion is encoded on to the NMR signal.

  • Patent number: 6934714
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing data records through a concept of families are provided. Example embodiments provide an enhanced record management system, a Data Family Record Management System (“DFRMS”), which maintains families of data. In one embodiment, the DFRMS comprises a command interface, an auto de-duplication engine, a query engine, and one or more data repositories. The DFRMS automatically processes imported data to insure a clean data repository and the management of the families of data. Each new data record is normalized, automatically inspected for related data records, automatically de-duped, and then added to a family when appropriate. Related data records can be directly related or indirectly related, for example, through multiply nested, embedded relationships. Once established, the family associations in the data repository are used to retrieve data records in response to user queries, such as to retrieve only a selected set of records from each family or from a selected set of families.

  • Patent number: 6934648
Abstract: A jitter measurement circuit includes: a conversion section sampling one of a reference signal and a measurement target signal in response to the other of the signals, thereby obtaining a sampling data string; and a determination section measuring jitter of the measurement target signal on the basis of the sampling data string obtained by the conversion section. Since the reference signal is a stable signal having a predetermined cycle, the sampling data string as a measurement result depends on the measurement target signal. Therefore, it is possible to simply measure jitter level in accordance with irregularity of the measurement result and on the basis of relative measurement to expected value data.
