The first nanomagnet is inductively coupled to a first current carrying element, and is configured to change polarity responsive to current in the first current carrying element. In one example, the first current carrying element includes a spin Hall effect substrate. The second nanomagnet is magnetically coupled to the first nanomagnet, and is inductively coupled to a second current carrying element. The first fixed magnet is disposed on the second nanomagnet and has a first fixed polarity, and second fixed magnet disposed on the second nanomagnet and has a second fixed polarity.
Abstract: A half-rate clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit includes a first and a second gated voltage-controlled oscillators (GVCOs) and a first and a second frequency detectors. The first frequency detector generates a first output current according to a reference signal and a second divided clock, and the second frequency detector generates a second output current according to a first divided clock and the second divided clock. A loop filter converts either the first output current or the second output current to a first control voltage to control the second clock, and generates a second control voltage according to the first control voltage to control the first clock. A lock detector receives the reference signal and the second divided clock, and accordingly generates a lock signal.

Abstract: Endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activity was modulated by contact with an effective amount of a mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase, resulting in phosphorylation of S602, T46, and/or S58. Kinetics and stoichiometry are disclosed. The contact strongly reduced nitric oxide (NO) synthesis, and inhibited the cytochrome c reductase activity of eNOS reductase domains. Three sites of phosphorylation were determined that matched the serine-proline (SP) and threonine-proline (TP) motifs of typical MAP kinase phosphorylation sites.

Abstract: A rigid, flat plate diaphragm for an acoustic device is illustrated. The internal supporting structure of the diaphragm provides a combination of torsional and translational stiffeners, which resemble a number of crossbars. These stiffeners brace and support the diaphragm motion, thus causing its response to not be adversely affected by fabrication stresses and causing it to be very similar in dynamic response to an ideal flat plate operating in a frequency range that extends well beyond the audible.

Abstract: Solvents for macromolecules generally believed to be insoluble in their pristine form are identified by generation of a ‘solvent resonance’ in the relationship between solvent quality (deduced by Rayleigh scattering) and an intrinsic property of solvents. A local extreme of the solvent resonance identifies the ideal intrinsic property of an ideal solvent which may then be used to select a particular solvent or solvent combination. A solvent for graphene is used in the production of transparent conductive electrodes.
Abstract: Hydrophobic drugs become more practical for treatments by being encapsulated in micelle compositions for increasing solubility. Micelle compositions may include an excipient tocopherol and/or prodrug formulations of the drug. Micelles extend the time period the drug remains in the micelles to improve drug circulation time and thereby drug delivery. Hydrophobic drugs for micelle encapsulation may include rapamycin, geldanamycin, and paclitaxel. Administration of these micelle compositions does not require Cremophor EL or Tween 80, avoiding serious side effects associated with these products which would previously accompany such drug administration.
Abstract: Polynucleotides which are novel causative genes for cancer are elucidated, and a detection method of the polynucleotides or polypeptides encoded by the polynucleotides, and a kit and a primer set for detection are provided, based on the knowledge gained by the elucidation. In the detection method, a fusion gene comprising part of an SDC4, CD74, EZR, SLC34A2, LRIG3, or TPM3 gene and part of a ROS1 gene, or a fusion protein encoded by the fusion gene is detected. The primer set or the detection kit comprises a sense primer designed based on a portion encoding SDC4, CD74, EZR, SLC34A2, LRIG3, or TPM3 and an antisense primer designed based on a portion encoding ROS1.
