Abstract: The present invention relates to a semiconductor memory having a pre-fetch structure. In such memory, an odd address cell array is provided with an odd address redundant cell array, and an even address cell array is provided with an even address redundant cell array, firstly, the present invention comprises a redundant memory, which stores an odd redundant address and an even redundant address, together with odd and even selection data. Since redundant memory is used flexibly on the odd side and even side, it is possible to maintain a high relief probability even when redundant memory capacity is reduced.

Abstract: In an SIMD sum of product arithmetic method of enabling a concurrent execution of 2n (where n is a natural number) parallel sum of product arithmetic (operations), the SIMD sum of product arithmetic is executed using 2m (m=0, . . . , log2n) accumulators as one set, and by replacing a 2p-1th accumulator with an adjacent 2pth (p=1, . . . , n) accumulator, without changing a sequence of accumulator addresses, in the set, as accumulator addresses to be allocated to sum of product arithmetic circuits for the SIMD sum of product arithmetic.
Abstract: An E-mail program according to the present invention can protect an existing file from the infection by computer virus, when a user receives an attached file sent from a transmitter through a communication network. In the present invention, an execution power for accessing another file of the attached file is set to a particular level. The E-mail program always checks the reference/overwrite to another file in which the attached file of the received mail intends to execute. When not-permitted process occurs in the attached file as a result of checking, the E-mail program informs it to a user. Further, the attached file, in which not-permitted process is found, is cancelled so that it is possible to avoid an accidental mistake, i.e., “accidental opening of the attached file without checking the infection of the computer virus”, on the user side.
Abstract: An event invitation method according to this invention comprises the steps of acquiring position information of a customer registered in advance; judging whether or not information concerning an invitation to an event to a terminal of the customer based on at least a positional relationship between the customer and a site of the event; and sending information concerning the invitation to the event to the terminal of the customer if it is judged that the invitation to the event should be sent to the customer. With this method, for example, by sending event invitation information to customers who can reach the event site by the opening time or ending time of the event, collection of customers who attend the event and resale of canceled tickets can be performed efficiently.

Abstract: A direct memory access control system supplies the respective status signals indicating timings of the read data effective state or writable state between the input/output interface and memory interface, both interfaces maintain the read data effective state and writable state of the input/output memory and synchronous memory under control until the later timing comes up. Consequently, it is possible to match the read data effective timing and writable timing of the synchronous memory and input/output memory, thus making possible flyby transfer of data between both memories.

Abstract: A WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplex) terminal device located in a WDM network includes a multiplexing unit that multiplexes a wavelength of a client signal having a single wavelength or a wavelength of at least one of a first plurality of client signals whose wavelengths are multiplexed, to wavelengths of a second plurality of client signals received with their wavelengths being multiplexed, and transmits the second plurality of client signals. Thus, the WDM terminal device can multiplex wavelengths of a plurality of client signals received from a metro WDM terminal device located at a distant place, to a wavelength of another client signal without separating the plurality of client signals by each wavelength, thereby achieving accommodation of a plurality of client signals whose wavelengths are multiplexed, at low cost.
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device has 2n word lines, a plurality of bit lines, a plurality of nonvolatile memory cells disposed at each intersection of the word lines and the bit lines, a write circuit for writing data to a memory cell located at an intersection of selected ones of the word lines and the bit lines, and a sense amplifier for reading data out of the memory cells. Further, the semiconductor memory device comprises a first unit for simultaneously selecting a block of 2m (n>m) word lines among the 2n word lines, and a second unit for not selecting a block of 2k (m>k) word lines among the 2m word lines. The second unit does not select the block of 2k word lines, and selects a block of 2k word lines prepared outside the 2n word lines when any one of the 2k word lines among the 2m word lines is defective. Consequently, redundant word lines are effectively employed, write and verify operations are stable, and thereby the yield and performance of the semiconductor memory device are improved.
Abstract: First transistor rows are arranged, each including two transistors connected in series for selectively connecting any of memory cell rows to an input/output circuit. A switching transistor operates as a switch and a short transistor(s) each having a source and a drain shorted to each other function(s) as wiring. The first transistor rows are provided with a plurality of transistors in advance. Since there is no need to selectively form only such a transistor that is to be operated as a switch, there is no need to form ion-implanted regions for making a source and a drain per transistor. As a result, the spacing with which the transistors are arranged can be set without considering the layout rule of the diffusion layer regions. Since the transistors can be arranged closely, the layout area can be decreased and the chip size of the semiconductor memory can be reduced.
Abstract: The invention provides an image processing apparatus which can correct distortion of read image data using only the image data without using a two-dimensional sensor. The image processing apparatus includes an estimation section for estimating a displacement amount between part data which form image data based on a cross-correlation between the part data, and a correction section for correcting the image data so as to cancel a displacement in the image data based on the displacement amount estimated by the estimation section. The image processing apparatus is used to correct distortion of an image, particularly a document image, inputted from an image inputting apparatus such as, for example, a handheld image scanner.

Abstract: An interface unit issues input/output instructions regarding an input of a translation target sentence, an output of a translated sentence, and a translation control. A machine translating apparatus translates a document in a certain language into a document in another language. A translation memory device translates a sentence by searching an original/translation database in which sentences in a certain language and original/translation sentences in another language corresponding thereto have been accumulated. A data compatible processing unit makes original/translation information translated by the machine translating apparatus and original/translation information translated by the translation memory device common, thereby enabling them to be fetched mutually as original/translation information.
Abstract: The present invention provides a computer virus infection information providing system for providing infection information such as the time of infection to the users and thereby permitting the users to understand the time of infection easily. Anti-virus software is installed in a central apparatus. The central apparatus further stores the communication history of the information transmitted by terminal apparatuses. When the installed anti-virus software detects a computer virus in the transmitted information, the time of infection is specified based on the stored communication history. The infection information including the specified time of infection is transmitted to a terminal apparatus. The terminal apparatus displays the transmitted infection information including the time of infection.
Abstract: In generation of communication data, continuous data capable of being acquired by a data logger is set as original data and the original data is sampled every a timing period t inputted. Since the original data and timing of sampling are displayed on the same screen, it can visually be checked which portion of the original is sampled and sent. In the timing of sampling, an initial point can be shifted. Assuming urgent time such as abnormal occurrence, a sending point for sampling the original data and generating and sending the communication data can be inputted and set at the time other than the sampling period t.
Abstract: A question extraction unit extracts predetermined question elements such as ‘operation’, ‘state’, ‘question’, etc. from question text transmitted from a questioner by electronic mail, etc. A case retrieval unit searches a question and answering case accumulation unit using a question element extracted by the question extraction unit as a retrieval key, and outputs a question case containing a matching question element to a answer presentation unit. The answer presentation unit reads an answer case corresponding to the retrieved question case from a question and answering case accumulation unit, and presents it to the questioner. Thus, the questioner can be provided with a desired answer.
