Abstract: The application relates to a dextran affinity tag and use thereof. The present application provides an affinity tag, which is a segment of dextran binding domain, and can purify a target protein by its affinity with the dextran. The affinity tag of the present application has the advantages of more efficient in preparation and purification, and can be widely used in industrial applications that require protein purification processes.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for designing a skull prosthesis are disclosed. In one arrangement, imaging data from a medical imaging process is received. The imaging data represents the shape of at least a portion of a skull. The imaging data is used to display on a display device a first virtual representation of at least a portion of the skull. User input defining a cutting line in the first virtual representation is received. A surgical operation of cutting through the skull along at least a portion of the defined cutting line to at least partially disconnect a target portion of the skull from the rest of skull is simulated. Output data is provided based on the simulation. The output data represents a simulated shape of at least a portion of the skull with the target portion at least partially disconnected from the rest of the skull, thereby defining the shape of an implantation site for a skull prosthesis to be manufactured.

Abstract: A heat exchanger may include a first container having a gas inlet, a liquid inlet, a gas outlet, and a liquid outlet. The gas inlet may flow a gas at a first temperature into the container while the liquid inlet introduces droplets of a liquid into the container at a second temperature. In the container, the liquid droplets may fall under the force of gravity while the gas flows through the container in a direction that is different from a direction of the spray of the liquid through the container. Accordingly, the liquid and the gas may come into direct contact within the first container and exchange heat. After the liquid and gas exchange heat, the liquid may leave the container through the liquid outlet and the gas may leave the container through the gas outlet.
Abstract: Disclosed are an unsupervised learning-based image registration method using a neural network with cycle consistency and an apparatus therefor. An image registration method includes receiving a first image and a second image for image registration, outputting a deformation field for the first image and the second image using an unsupervised learning-based neural network with cycle consistency for the deformation field, and generating a registration image for the first image and the second image based on a spatial deformation function using the output deformation field. The outputting of the deformation field includes outputting the deformation field for the first image for registering the first image to the second image may be output, when the first image is a moving image and the second image is a fixed image, and the generating of the registration image includes generating the registration image by applying the deformation field for the first image to the first image using the spatial deformation function.
