  • Patent number: 9784061
Abstract: The bore hole tracer injection apparatus is a mechanical device for inserting a tracer agent into a bore hole at a predetermined depth. Outer and inner cylinders have side ports, with the side ports of the cylinders misaligned to prevent fluid escape from the inner cylinder until desired. The bottom of the inner cylinder includes a filler passage. A line passes through the top of the outer cylinder and attaches to a rod across the top of the inner cylinder, above the closed top thereof. The inner cylinder is filled with a tracer agent, and the apparatus is lowered into the bore hole to the desired depth. A weight is then dropped down the line, and jars the outer cylinder down around the inner cylinder when it contacts the top of the outer cylinder. This aligns the side ports of the cylinders to allow escape of the tracer agent therefrom.

  • Patent number: 9783229
Abstract: A control system calculates inputs to a control target that has m inputs and n outputs (m=n, each of m and n is a natural number that is more than one), while designating a plurality of combinations of the inputs and the outputs. A feedback controller calculates, with respect to each designated combination, a control input to a non-interference controller based on a difference between a target value and a current value of the control quantity to make the current value follow the target value. The non-interference controller executes, with respect to each designated combination, a non-interference control to reduce influence due to mutual interference between n control quantities. This reduces the number of combinations of the inputs and the outputs, the combinations whose mutual interference needs considering; thereby, the non-interference control may be easily achieved.

  • Patent number: 9785728
Abstract: For generating a 3D geometric model (44) and/or a definition of the 3D geometric model from a single digital image of a building facade (4), a facade structure is detected from the digital image by dividing the facade (4) along horizontal lines into horizontal layers representative of floors (41), and by dividing the horizontal layers along vertical lines into tiles (42). The tiles (42) are further subdivided into a hierarchy of rectangular image regions (43). 3D architectural objects (45) corresponding to the image regions (43) are determined in an architectural element library. The 3D geometric model (44) or the definition of the 3D geometric model is generated based on the facade structure, the hierarchy and the 3D architectural objects (45). The library-based generation of the 3D geometric model makes it possible to enhance simple textured building models constructed from aerial images and/or ground-based photographs.

  • Patent number: 9786955
Abstract: Electrochemical cells operating with molten electrodes and electrolyte, where the cathode is an alloy of a metal and metalloid, may be assembled in a discharged state by combining first an anodic metal with a cathodic metal to form a binary alloy. This binary alloy is then placed in a cell housing with the metalloid and the electrolyte, all in the solid state. The temperature is raised to, and maintained at, a temperature above the melting point of the highest melting component until components assembled into horizontal layers of electrolyte above a layer of a ternary alloy formed by the combination of the binary alloy and the metalloid. A charge and discharged cycle is then run through the electrochemical cell.
