    Abstract: Reactive adhesive compositions that can be activated with actinic radiation, manipulated for an extended time and then cured thermally are disclosed. The prepolymer mixture for the reactive adhesive contains a catalyst component and a monomer/oligomer component. The monomer or oligomer is chosen from oxetane monomers, oxirane monomers, oxetane oligomers and oxirane oligomers. The oxirane monomers and oligomers have at least one oxygen or sulfur of an ether or thioether in a position two or three carbons removed from the oxygen of the oxirane.

    Abstract: Convolutional networks can be defined by a set of layers being respectively made up by a two-dimensional lattice of neurons. Each layer—with the exception of the last layer—represents a source layer for respectively following target layer. A plurality of neurons of a source layer called a source sub-area respectively share the identical connectivity weight matrix type. Each connectivity weight matrix type is represented by a scalar product of an encoding filter and a decoding filter. For each source layer a source reconstruction image is calculated on the basis of the corresponding encoding filters and the activities of the corresponding source sub-area. For each connectivity weight matrix type, each target sub-area and each target layer the input of the target layer is calculated as a convolution of the source reconstruction image and the decoding filter.

    Abstract: Polymer micro-resonators and methods of fabricating the same. A liquid polymer material is applied to a micro-resonator master that includes at least one micro-resonator, such as a disk or toroid micro-resonator. The liquid molding material is cured or set to form a mold that is derived from the master. A replica of the master micro-resonator is cast using the mold, and the replicated micro-toroid resonator(s) are separated from the mold. The polymer micro-resonators can have Q factors up to about 5×106. The mold and replica materials can be a silicone material, such as polydimethylsiloxane.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for providing fast handoff in WLAN-like communications system construct a caching candidate set based upon a weighted handoff tendency coefficient. The weighted handoff tendency coefficient is based upon the handoff matrix and the weighting factor. The handoff matrix is an adaptive two-dimensional array that provides a list of nearby access points relative to a mobile station and the weighting factor is a value that prioritizes the nearby access points based upon a signal quality indication. A home access point, once it is triggered to initialize proactive caching, provides the caching candidate set with registration data of the mobile station before a transfer of a connection between the home access point and one of the access points on the caching candidate set.

The image sensor also collects an autofluorescence image having a blue component, a green component and a red component. A processor processes the fluorescence image by determining a ratio of the fluorescence image and the reflectance image to provide a processed fluorescence image.

Since the two equations employ a look-up table, that is, multiplicative_inverse(x), the lookup tables for use in byte substitution and inverse byte substitution operations are to be combined according to the invention so as to lower hardware complexity of the implementation. In addition, main operations of column mixing operation and inverse column mixing operation are to be rearranged to combine the two operations in part, resulting in simplified hardware implementation.

    Abstract: A method for preparing a dehumidifying element including a superabsorbent polymer (SAP) comprises mixing SAP particles with inorganic salt particles, exposing the SAP particles and the inorganic salt particles to a high humidity atmosphere thereby absorbing the deliquescent inorganic salt by the SAP, and drying moisture inside the SAP that has absorbed the inorganic salt. Accordingly, an amount of the inorganic salt absorbed by the SAP is minutely controlled thus to precisely control a degree of an ion exchange therebetween, thereby freely controlling a hygroscopic property of the dehumidifying element including the SAP. Furthermore, since the SAP particles and the inorganic salt particles are physically mixed together, the mixture ratio therebetween is entirely uniform, and therefore, the reliability of the product can be obtained.
