Abstract: A loading apparatus and method for use with a firearm, which may be most suited for use with a bolt-action rifle having an internal magazine. The loading apparatus comprises an arcuate shaped body having a coextensive track, flap member, and access slot, and a guidance element, all of which combine to provide an apparatus that increases the ease and speed of loading the firearm.
Abstract: The invention relates to an article comprising: a) one or more stacks of battery plates comprising one or more bipolar plates; b) located between each plate is a separator and a liquid electrolyte; further comprising one of more of the features: an integrated valve and an integrated channel communicating with the valve.
Abstract: A three-roll thread gauge for measuring interior threads includes a fixed gauge roll and two movable gauge rolls. The motion of the two movable gauge rolls is constrained so that the interior angles of a triangle defined by the three gauge rolls are equal for each position of the first and second gauge rolls when the three gauge rolls are in engagement with an interior thread. The motion is constrained by reverse sine bars that limit the motion of first and second tables to which the first and second gauge rolls are attached.
Abstract: An external combustion engine is disclosed. The external combustion engine includes a working fluid and a burner element, at least one heater head defining a working space, at least one piston cylinder containing a piston, a cooler, a crankcase including a crankshaft for producing an engine output, a rocking beam, a piston rod connected to the piston, a rocking beam driven by the piston rod, and a connecting rod connected at a first end to the rocking beam and at a second end to a crankshaft to convert rotary motion of the rocking beam to rotary motion of the crankshaft. The external combustion engine also includes an airlock space separating the crankcase and the working space for maintaining a pressure differential between the crankcase housing and the working space housing and an airlock pressure regulator connected between the crankcase and one of the airlock space and working space.

Abstract: The invention relates to an article comprising: a) one or more stacks of battery plates comprising one or more bipolar plates; b) located between each plate is a separator and a liquid electrolyte; further comprising one of more of the features: 1) c) the one or more stacks of battery plates having a plurality of channels passing transversely though the portion of the plates having the cathode and/or the anode deposited thereon; and d) i) one or more seals about the periphery of the channels which prevent the leakage of the liquid electrolyte into the channels, and/or posts located in one or more of the channels having on each end an overlapping portion that covers the channel and sealing surface on the outside of the monopolar plates adjacent to the holes for the transverse channels and applies pressure on the sealing surface of the monopolar plates.
Abstract: A device adapted to connect a first securing member to a second securing member, the device comprising a link with a base having an interrupted raised lip forming an internal cavity, the base having a hasp extending into the internal cavity, the hasp having a through hole, and the raised lip having interrupted areas, a first securing element associated with the base at a first interrupted area, the first securing element securing a first securing member, a second securing element associated with the base at a second interrupted area, the second securing element securing a second securing member, a lock having a shackle and a body, the lock fitting within the internal cavity such that the shackle may be inserted through the through hole of the hasp with the body inhibiting the first and second securing members from being disassociated with the first and second securing elements.
Abstract: A gutter protecting apparatus includes a plurality of substantially parallel rods extending in a downward slope from near a roof edge to and beyond the far side of the gutter. The rods extend substantially perpendicular to the gutter's length and to a frame to which the rods connect at the upper edge. Preferably, the lower rod ends are spaced above and slightly beyond the far edge of the gutter to allow debris to pass the gutter without catching. Legs can extend down from some rods to the gutter's far edge to provide support. The apparatus can be pivotably mounted to the roof, the fascia or the gutter, permitting access beneath. The apparatus forms a cage-like covering over the gutter to exclude matter and small creatures, while allowing the liquid to flow past. Sunlight bypassing the rods and movement of air through the gutter make the water exiting the downspout cleaner.
Abstract: An apparatus for removing carpet including: a base; a hoist engaged with the base; a resilient line with first and second ends, wherein the first end is engaged with the hoist; a carpet gripping means removably engaged with the second end of the resilient line; and at least one friction surface engaged with a bottom of the base for holding the base in position. Further, a method for removing carpet comprising: the apparatus for removing carpet; moving the apparatus into position; engaging carpet to be removed with the carpet gripping means; and utilizing the hoist and resilient line to pull the carpet gripping means in order to remove the carpet.
Abstract: Devices and methods to assist a user in donning hosiery are provided. The device comprises an elongated flexible blade extending between a distal end and a proximal end, the blade configured to contact at least a portion of a user's foot, the blade having a textured inner surface configured to face towards the user's lower leg, and an smooth opposing outer surface relative to the textured inner surface.
Abstract: An article useful for atraumatic care and/or closure of wounds, as well as for repairing torn or ripped fabric is provided. The article comprises a substrate having opposing first and second major surfaces, a plurality of raised anchoring members disposed across the first major surface, and an optional adhesive pre-mounted adjacent the second major surface. A separate adhesive could also be used to mount the article to the desired underlying surface to be repaired. The substrate is a flexible and conformal continuous web that can be cut into pieces to custom fit the wound or fabric opening. Using the anchoring members and a thread, the pieces can be drawn together to correspondingly draw the tissue or fabric on either side(s) of the opening together, thereby closing the opening without piercing or suturing/sewing together the underlying tissue or fabric.
Abstract: A shelf assembly includes a shelf main body. The shelf assembly further includes a plurality of corner connectors releasably coupled to the shelf main body. Each of the corner connectors is configured to receive at least one post. Each of the corner connectors also has an insert for coupling the corner connectors to the shelf main body.

Abstract: An attachment for agricultural implements which tills soil compacted by the wheels of the agricultural implement it is attached to. In one arrangement the power and force used to till the soil is gained from the torque of the machine pulling the agricultural implement it is attached to, alternatively the tilling device is independently powered. This arrangement reduces compaction caused by the wheels of row-crop planters through the use of a shank or rolling tines. The tilling device is mounted directly behind wheels of the agricultural implement. The tilling device has the ability to raise and lower into the soil with the engaging and disengaging of the implement. In addition, in its current form it can independently be disengaged from use by raising and locking it up out of the soil, even if the implement remains engaged.
