Abstract: A recessed portion is formed in an inner wall surface of a lower portion of a reduction gear housing (a lower wall in FIG. 2) in the direction of gravity and between a bearing 44 and an outer wall of the reduction gear housing (a right side wall in FIG. 2). The recessed portion is formed to have such a depth that the recessed portion does not penetrate the reduction gear housing. The recessed portion is formed in the reduction gear housing within a given range in a circumferential direction with respect to the axis of a rack shaft serving as the center. A moisture sensor is mounted in the recessed portion to detect water infiltrating into a housing. The moisture sensor has a transmission circuit that operates using a water battery as a power supply source. The water battery generates power when water flows into the water battery.

  • Patent number: 9568050
Abstract: The electromagnetic frictional engagement apparatus includes a housing member in which a housing space is formed, a clutch portion that couples the housing member in a disengageable manner to a shaft disposed so as to be rotatable relative to the housing member, and an electromagnetic coil that generates a magnetic force that actuates the clutch portion. The clutch portion has an outer clutch plate and an inner clutch plate that forms a magnetic path for a magnetic flux generated by the electromagnetic coil. Lubrication grooves through which a lubricant flows are formed in the inner clutch plate. Among the lubrication grooves, the total of groove areas of a portion of the lubrication grooves that is included in the magnetic path is 90 to 110% of a maximum lubrication groove area, so that magnetic flux density resulting from saturation of the magnetic path with magnetic fluxes is not reduced.

  • Publication number: 20170036691
Abstract: A shaft coupling structure includes a rotating shaft, a worm shaft, a first member, a second member, and an intermediate member that is an elastic member. The intermediate member is interposed between the first member and the second member. Coupling protrusions of the first member that extend in an axial direction are each inserted between second radial protrusions of the intermediate member and between a plurality of first radial protrusions of the second member. Protruding portions of the first radial protrusions engage with the corresponding recessed portions of the second radial protrusions in the axial direction. When a relative rotation angle between the first member and the second member is smaller than a predetermined angle, ends of each of the second radial protrusions in a circumferential direction each projects in the circumferential direction with respect to a corresponding end of the corresponding first radial protrusion in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 9561720
Abstract: A driving force distribution control apparatus includes: a driving force transmission device including a clutch which can change distribution of a driving force to front wheels and rear wheels of a four-wheel drive vehicle; and a controller which controls an engagement force of the clutch in accordance with a traveling state. The controller includes a different-diameter tire detector which detects an attachment of a different-diameter tire to one of the front wheels and the rear wheels when a rotation speed ratio between the front wheels and the rear wheels continues to be equal to or larger than a reference rotation speed ratio for a predetermined time. The different-diameter tire detector performs detection of the attachment of the different-diameter tire when it is determined that the wheels are unlikely to slip based on an outside condition.

  • Publication number: 20170021859
Abstract: A steering control device restrains not only a steered angle but also a steering angle from exceeding their upper limit values. A maximum value selection circuit selects a maximum value of a target steered angle and a target steering angle as an end angle and outputs the end angle to a limiting reaction force setting circuit. The limiting reaction force setting circuit increases a limiting reaction force rapidly if the end angle becomes equal to or larger than a common threshold. A target steering angle setting circuit sets a target steering angle based on torque applied to the steering minus the limiting reaction force etc. A steering angle control circuit sets reaction torque as a manipulated variable for feedback controlling the steering angle to the target steering angle. An operation signal generation circuit outputs an operation signal to a reaction force motor so as to achieve the reaction torque.
