Abstract: A method for controlling an automotive vehicle includes providing a first actuator configured to control acceleration and braking of the first vehicle, a second actuator configured to control steering of the first vehicle, and a controller in communication with the first and second actuators, the controller configured to selectively control the first and second actuators in an autonomous mode along a first trajectory according to an automated driving system, receiving eye movement data and vehicle characteristic data from a second vehicle using V2X communication, determining a predicted vehicle maneuver of the second vehicle from the eye movement data and the vehicle characteristic data, determining a trajectory adjustment for the first vehicle to the predicted vehicle maneuver of the second vehicle, and automatically controlling the first and second actuators to implement the trajectory adjustment.

Abstract: A method for collecting and mapping eye movement data to vehicle data includes providing a vehicle having a plurality of sensors configured to capture vehicle characteristic data, an eye-movement tracking system configured to capture eye movement data, a wireless communication system, and a controller in communication with the plurality of sensors, the eye movement tracking system, and the wireless communication system, receiving the eye movement data and the vehicle characteristic data, analyzing the eye movement data and the vehicle characteristic data to temporally correlate the eye movement data and the vehicle characteristic data and generate a matched dataset, determining a predicted vehicle maneuver from the matched dataset, and transmitting the predicted vehicle maneuver to a nearby vehicle using V2X communication.

Abstract: A method of estimating the residual energy of a battery. The method comprises determining the battery's state of charge (SOC) and dischargeable capacity to determine the battery's state of energy (SOE), determining the battery's reference dischargeable energy (Eref) and total dischargeable energy (Etot), and comparing the state of energy to the total dischargeable energy to find the residual energy of the battery. The various functions of the method use battery current, cell temperature, and state of health (SOH) as variables for consideration.

Abstract: Embodiments of a new approach for training a class of quantum neural networks called quantum Boltzmann machines are disclosed. in particular examples, methods for supervised training of a quantum Boltzmann machine are disclosed using an ensemble of quantum states that the Boltzmann machine is trained to replicate. Unlike existing approaches to Boltzmann training, example embodiments as disclosed herein allow for supervised training even in cases where only quantum examples are known (and not probabilities from quantum measurements of a set of states). Further, this approach does not require the use of approximations such as the Golden-Thompson inequality.

Abstract: A system and method for replacing a customer's debit card payment with a one-time loan at a point of sale (POS) is disclosed. The method receives, at a POS, a debit card input from a customer to be used as a transaction payment. The POS obtains, from the debit card input, identification information for the customer. A total monetary amount of the transaction payment and the identification information is provided to a one-time loan provider's computer system. The one-time loan provider's system uses the customer identification information to perform a credit screening for the total monetary amount of the transaction payment. The one-time loan provider's system provides to the POS a one-time loan offer for the customer. The one-time loan offer to be used in place of the debit card input to make the transaction payment.

Abstract: A receiving apparatus includes circuitry configured to receive a digital broadcast signal which uses an internet protocol (IP) transfer method. Based on control information included in the digital broadcast signal, the circuitry acquires at least one of a broadcast component or a communication component, and controls an operation of each section which performs a predetermined process relating to the acquired at least one component. The broadcast component and the communication component are associated with a component hierarchy including a first hierarchy level, a second hierarchy level, and a third hierarchy level for each component category.

A sub-block transform (SBT) mode is determined for the current block based on the prediction information indicating that SBT is used for the current block. A partition of the current block based on the SBT mode is different from a partition of the current block based on the at least one allowed block partitioning structure. The current block is reconstructed based on the SBT mode.

In one example, a water-borne sealer composition includes an acrylic latex resin, a polyurethane dispersion (PUD), and water. The acrylic latex resin is free of a core-shell latex. The PUD includes a hydroxyl functional reaction product of polyisocyanate and a polyol including a polycarbonate diol.

The system compares the individual search criteria from the formatted digital file to information from a reference database. Based on the comparing, the system may identify a potential relationship between the individual search criteria and a disease or condition identified in the information from the reference database. The system may present the potential match, along with an analysis relating to the relationship, on a visualization interface on a device associated with the individual.

Abstract: An assisted perception (AP) module comprises an attachment mechanism to attach the AP module to a helmet, and a housing to integrate modular components of the AP module. The housing comprises a front portion and side portion, the front portion located over an eye of the user. The modular components include sensors to collect information about an environment as sensor data, and processors located in the side portion. The processors execute one or more assisted perception engines that process the sensor data from the sensors into enhanced characterization data. Output devices electronically communicate the enhanced characterization data to a user, wherein at least one of the output devices protrudes from the front portion of the housing in front of an eye of the user.

Abstract: A tissue approximation device for wound closure having a first arm having a proximal end and a distal end, a second arm having a proximal end and a distal end, the second arm connected to the first arm. A first rake member is connected to the distal end of the first arm and has a first plurality of tissue engaging members extending therefrom to engage tissue. A second rake member is attached to the distal end of the second arm, the second rake member having a second plurality of tissue engaging members extending therefrom to engage tissue. A transverse bar can extend through the first and second rake members such that the first and second rake members movable along the transverse bar. Systems and methods for wound closure are also disclosed.
