Abstract: A method of estimating the residual energy of a battery. The method comprises determining the battery's state of charge (SOC) and dischargeable capacity to determine the battery's state of energy (SOE), determining the battery's reference dischargeable energy (Eref) and total dischargeable energy (Etot), and comparing the state of energy to the total dischargeable energy to find the residual energy of the battery. The various functions of the method use battery current, cell temperature, and state of health (SOH) as variables for consideration.

  • Publication number: 20210064145
Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable detecting and processing unsuccessfully recognized or unsuccessfully utilized non-contact gestures for a computing system. A radar field enables an electronic device to determine that a part of a user is within a gesture zone around the device. The device can determine whether an application that can receive input through touch-independent radar-based gestures (radar gestures) is operating on the device. Using these techniques, the device can present a failed-gesture feedback element on a display when the user unsuccessfully performs a radar gesture. The failed-gesture feedback element alerts the user that the user's attempted gesture did not meet the criteria to be a radar gesture. This provides the user with feedback, which can educate the user about the device's capabilities and allow the user to take advantage of additional functionality and features provided by the availability of the radar gestures.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums for video encoding/decoding. In a method, prediction information of a current block of a coding unit tree in a coded bit stream is decoded. The prediction information indicates at least one allowed block partitioning structure for the current block. A sub-block transform (SBT) mode is determined for the current block based on the prediction information indicating that SBT is used for the current block. A partition of the current block based on the SBT mode is different from a partition of the current block based on the at least one allowed block partitioning structure. The current block is reconstructed based on the SBT mode.

Abstract: Adapting a storage system in response to operation of a corresponding host includes determining whether the host is performing a boot up operation, determining whether the host is performing a shutdown operation, and adapting operation of the storage system in response to the host performing one of: a boot up operation or a shutdown operation. Adapting operation of the storage system may include suspending low-priority housekeeping tasks, decreasing work queue scan times to be more responsive to incoming work, moving cores from other emulations, increasing thread counts, and/or preloading specified files into cache memory of the storage system. Determining whether the host is performing a boot up operation may include making a call from the storage system to the host that causes the host to return an indication thereof.
