Abstract: Furniture anti-tipping mechanism integrated into furniture includes a bracket attachable to a vertical support, a substantially planar wall section situated in the furniture and having front and rear surface defining a thickness therebetween constituting a rear wall of the furniture, and attachment structure to connect the bracket to the wall section. The attachment structure may include at least one bolt projecting from the bracket and having a height greater than the thickness of the wall section, at least one aperture in the wall section, and at least one wing nut threadable onto a respective bolt after the bolt projects through a respective aperture to enable the wall section to be tightened against the bracket.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for recommending relevant positions. A method includes receiving, from a member of an online networking service, a query for one or more available employment positions; executing the query, at a database of employment positions, to retrieve the one or more available employment positions; filtering results of the query according to one or more facets; generating an electronic user interface to display the filtered results; and allowing the member to adjust the facets using the electronic user interface.

Abstract: A bariatric device includes an esophageal member having an esophageal surface that is configured to generally conform to the shape and size of a portion of the esophagus and an anchoring technique anchoring the esophageal member to the portion of the esophagus. The bariatric device includes a cardiac member having a cardiac surface that is configured to generally conform to the shape and size of a portion of the cardiac portion of the stomach and a connector connected with the esophageal member and the cardiac member to cause strain to be applied by the cardiac member to the cardiac portion of the stomach. The strain applied by the cardiac member to the cardiac portion of the stomach causes satiety in the absence of food. The connector is adapted to pass through the gastroesophageal junction while leaving a continuous portion of the gastroesophageal junction substantially unrestrained.

Abstract: A system for a vehicle includes an electrical port that charges a vehicle battery via a connection to a power source, and a controller configured to interrupt charging and to display an alert responsive to temperature at the connection being greater than a threshold and voltage of a control pilot terminal of the port being at an overtemperature state voltage that is different from each of disconnected, connected, ready, and fault state voltages.

Abstract: A high dynamic range imaging pixel may include a photodiode that generates charge in response to incident light. Charge from the photodiode may be coupled to a voltage supply and discarded or transferred to a charge storage region such as a storage diode. Alternating between discarding and integrating charge enables flicker mitigation. When the generated charge in the charge storage region exceeds a first charge level, the charge may overflow through a first transistor to a first storage capacitor. When the generated charge exceeds a second charge level that is higher than the first charge level, the charge may overflow through a second transistor. The charge that overflows through the second transistor may alternately be coupled to a voltage supply and drained or transferred to a second storage capacitor for subsequent readout. Diverting more overflow charge to the voltage supply may increase the dynamic range of the pixel.

Abstract: An exercise machine for leg strengthening, the exercise machine comprising a stationary frame; and a thigh support member and an ankle support member coupled to the frame and configured to support a user's thigh and ankle, respectively, during a hamstring curl exercise motion. The thigh support member and the ankle support member are each movable with respect to the stationary frame during the hamstring curl exercise motion, thus facilitating contraction and extension of both of a hamstring and glute of the user during the hamstring curl exercise motion.

Abstract: An exemplary battery assembly according includes, among other things, a tray, and a cover adjacent the tray to provide a flow path therebetween. The battery assembly further includes a tray boss configured to selectively provide a port through the tray to the flow path, a cover boss configured to selectively provide a port through the cover to the flow path, and a protective fin that is spaced from, and extends at least partially about, the tray boss or the cover boss. An exemplary battery coolant port protection method includes, among other things, forming a cover or a tray with both a boss and a protective fin. The method further removing material from the boss to provide a coolant port to a flow path between the cover and the tray.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology may provide methods and apparatus for an interface. The interface may be configured as a low-voltage interface and provide a redriver connected between a pair of input pads and a pair of output pads. The interface may further provide a signal detection circuit connected to the pair of input pads and configured to bias a pair of input termination resistors connected to the input pads with one of a supply voltage and a regulator voltage. The signal detection circuit may be further configured to enable/disable the redriver for a period of time.

Abstract: An energy harvester for use to provide power to metrology hardware like gas meters and flow measuring devices. The energy harvester may include a body with ends connectable to a pipe, a fluid circuit disposed in the body and coupled to the ends, the fluid circuit comprising, a flow unit configured to convert a single stream of fuel gas into a pair of streams at different temperatures, and a power unit responsive to a temperature differential between the two streams to generate an electrical signal. The electrical signal can be directed to the flow device to operate the flow device or, when necessary, replace, supplement, or recharge a power source on the flow device that powers electronics necessary to expand functions on the flow device.

Abstract: Techniques for recording and replay of a live conference while still attending the live conference are described. A conferencing system includes a user interface generator, a live conference processing module, and a replay processing module. The user interface generator is configured to generate a user interface that includes a replay control panel and one or more output panels. The live conference processing module is configured to extract information included in received conferencing data that is associated with one or more conferencing modalities, and to display the information in the one or more output panels in a live manner (e.g., as a live conference). The replay processing module is configured to enable information associated with the one or more conferencing modalities corresponding to a time of the conference session prior to live to be presented at a desired rate, possibly different from the real-time rate.

Abstract: A muzzle brake (i.e., muzzle brake, suppressor, or compensator) directs air through ports in a top of the muzzle brake. Each pair of ports, left and right, has a corresponding baffle to which they are adjacent and form a recess in the rear face of. Each port is between 15 and 30 degrees from top center, and each port angles forward between 15 and 30 degrees. Each port is threaded such that a user may shut the port off with a set screw. Each baffle has a top tooth and a bottom tooth which direct gases from the muzzle of the firearm laterally and into the pair of ports associated with the baffle. The brake may also have lateral vents to disperse the excess gases received from the muzzle.

The server system determines a plurality of stickers applicable to data presented on a user interface of a client device, and causes presentation of the determined plurality of stickers on the user interface of the client device. The server system receives a selection of a sticker from the plurality of stickers. The server system then applies the selected sticker to the presented data, whereby the application of the selected sticker causes the presented data to be classified based on the selected sticker.

Abstract: Theft increases the average product cost to consumers. A mentoring system is presented that can help to reduce or prevent the inventory from lost or theft. Theft is a serious concern in the consumer market place. Industry loses billions per year on theft of merchandise. According to a Reuters report, last year, thefts by employees of U.S. retail merchandise accounted for $15.9 billion, or 44 percent of theft losses at stores, more than shoplifting and vendor fraud combined. Thus, the total thief by the customers and store employees during the year 2008 amounted to $36 billion. Several embodiments of ways to control or reduce the thefts in the market place are presented.

Abstract: A data processing system archives local snapshots of a primary storage object to cloud storage by dividing an address space of the snapshots into sequential chunks, and organizing the cloud storage into archived snapshots including sets of cloud objects created from respective modified chunks of local snapshots. The archived snapshots are organized into families each having a full snapshot and incremental snapshots. A new family is started by creating a synthesized full snapshot from the archived snapshots of a preceding family, which includes (1) for chunks whose data is contained within one cloud object of the preceding family, logically incorporating the cloud object into the synthesized full snapshot, and (2) for chunks whose data is contained within multiple cloud objects of the preceding family, coalescing the data of the cloud objects into a new cloud object and logically incorporating the new cloud object into the synthesized full snapshot.

The first pair of grooves and the second pair of grooves are positioned offset from each other, along the bracing surface of the specific sidewall. The primary cavity and the secondary cavity each traverse normal and into the bracing surface from the first base to the second base.

Abstract: Techniques for implementing a pipe deployment system that includes a pipe reel, in which the pipe reel includes reel ends and a reel drum and the pipe reel enables a pipe segment to be wrapped on the reel drum. The pipe deployment system includes a brake assembly with a brake wheel having a shaft socket keyed with flat inner surfaces, and a shaft adapter assembly, which includes an adapter head to be coupled between the pipe reel and the brake assembly. The adapter head includes an adapter shaft keyed with flat outer surfaces, in which the adapter shaft matingly interlocks with the shaft socket and is to be partially inserted through a reel end of the pipe reel, and a rotation control pin coupled to the adapter shaft, in which the rotation control pin is to be inserted between adjacent reel spokes in the reel end of the pipe reel.
