Abstract: During operation, an access point aggregates communication-performance information and behavior information in a wireless local area network (WLAN) corresponding to an electronic device, where the communication-performance information and the behavior information are aggregated over a time interval that is longer than an instance of a connection or association of the electronic device to the WLAN. Then, the access point provides the communication-performance information and the behavior information to a second electronic device. After receiving information about another instance of a connection or association of the electronic device to the WLAN, the access point provides a request to the second electronic device for historical information about communication performance and behavior of the electronic device in the WLAN.
Abstract: Presented are dual-passage fluid couplers with integrated fluid sensors, methods for using/making such fluid couplers, and motor vehicles equipped with such fluid couplers. A quick-connect (QC) fluid coupler includes a sensor assembly with a sensor housing containing a sensing device that monitors fluid flow, and a main connector body with opposing inlet and outlet ends having respective inlet and outlet ports. The main connector body contains a sensor chamber attaching thereto the sensor housing, and a primary fluid chamber that extends from the inlet end to the outlet end of the main connector body and fluidly connects the inlet and outlet ports. Interposed between the primary and sensor chambers is a secondary fluid chamber that is fluidly connected to the sensor chamber via a sensor port and to the primary fluid chamber via a bleed port upstream from the sensor port and a merge channel downstream from the sensor port.
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a quantum processor. The methods comprise: receiving a reward matrix at the quantum processor, the reward matrix comprising a plurality of values that are in a given format and arranged in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns; converting, by the quantum processor, the given format of the plurality of values to a qubit format; performing, by the quantum processor, subset summing operations to make a plurality of row selections based on different combinations of the values in the qubit format; using, by the quantum processor, the plurality of row selections to determine a normalized quantum probability for a selection of each row of the plurality of rows; making, by the quantum processor, a decision based on the normalized quantum probabilities; and causing, by the quantum processor, operations of an electronic device to be controlled or changed based on the decision.

Abstract: A cooling system drains oil from low side heat exchangers to vessels and then uses compressed refrigerant to push the oil in the vessels back towards a compressor. Generally, the cooling system operates in three different modes of operation: a normal mode, an oil drain mode, and an oil return mode. During the normal mode, a primary refrigerant is cycled to cool one or more secondary refrigerants. As the primary refrigerant is cycled, oil from a compressor may mix with the primary refrigerant and become stuck in a low side heat exchanger. During the oil drain mode, the oil in the low side heat exchanger is allowed to drain into a vessel. During the oil return mode, compressed refrigerant is directed to the vessel to push the oil in the vessel back towards a compressor.
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices associated with an electronic candle are described. In one example, an electronic candle comprises a housing having a through-hole at its top and a component shell. The component shell encloses a transfer mechanism including a driver motor and one or more gears positioned inside the component shell, a light emitting component coupled to the transfer mechanism such that the transfer mechanism causes the light emitting component to move vertically up or down to protrude from the housing or to retract into the housing, a lid positioned inside the component shell and movable to remain in at least one of an open configuration or a closed configuration, and a controller configured to turn on or off the light emitting component. The candle also includes a controller configured to turn on or off the light emitting component.
Abstract: Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission system between transmitting and receiving devices are provided. In an embodiment, each of the transmitting and receiving devices can contain a master key. The transmitting device can generate a diversified key using the master key, protect a counter value and encrypt data prior to transmitting to the receiving device, which can generate the diversified key based on the master key and can decrypt the data and validate the protected counter value using the diversified key. Example embodiments of systems and methods can be used to provide further authentication and added levels of security for transactions.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein include an apparatus including an antenna and a processor operatively coupled to the antenna. The processor can generate an input signal and send the input signal to the antenna. The antenna can, in response to the input signal, transmit first surface electromagnetic signals along an interface between a first medium and a second medium. The antenna can receive second surface electromagnetic signals in response to the first surface electromagnetic signals being scattered by an object disposed in the first medium. The processor can produce an image of the object based on the first surface electromagnetic signals and the second surface electromagnetic signals.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods, assemblies, and systems for power production that can allow for increased efficiency and lower cost components arising from the control, reduction, or elimination of turbine blade mechanical erosion by particulates or chemical erosion by gases in a combustion product flow. The methods, assemblies, and systems can include the use of turbine blades that operate with a blade velocity that is significantly reduced in relation to conventional turbines used in typical power production systems. The methods and systems also can make use of a recycled circulating fluid for transpiration protection of the turbine and/or other components. Further, recycled circulating fluid may be employed to provide cleaning materials to the turbine.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for adjusting capacity in a networking environment. A networking system comprising clients, servers, load balancers, and/or other devices may expand and contract network capacity as needed. When expanding network capacity, load balancers may instruct client devices to connect to servers that are part of the expanded network. When network capacity is reduced, a server and/or a load balancer my instruct client devices to close a connection with a first server and establish a connection with a second server. Client devices may seamlessly begin using the connection with a second server without having to wait for a connection timeout with the first server.
