Abstract: A high dynamic range imaging pixel may include a photodiode, an overflow node, and an overflow path between the photodiode and the overflow node. The imaging pixel may have an overlapping overflow integration time and photodiode integration time. The overflow integration time may be shorter than the photodiode integration time. At the end of the overflow integration time, an uncorrelated double sample of overflow charge may be obtained. The capacity of the photodiode is then increased and charge continues to accumulate in the photodiode until the conclusion of the photodiode integration time. A correlated double sample of charge from the photodiode may then be obtained. For additional increases to dynamic range, the overflow charge may be repeatedly sampled and reset throughout the overflow integration time, effectively increasing the overflow capacity. The overflow samples may be integrated on a buffer to track the total overflow charge.

  • Publication number: 20210286793
Abstract: A system and method index data objects in an object store according to structure found in data records from which the objects are themselves formed. Embodiments order structured data records, aggregate slices of consecutively-ordered records into a single corresponding data object, store the data object in the object store, and place the associated object handle into a search tree with all the other such handles. The search tree is indexed using probabilistic set-inclusion filters, such as Bloom filters, not on the handles themselves but on the indexed fields of the records within each slice. For data sets having enough data records, and thus search trees that are deep enough, the aggregate false positive rate for depth-first searches on the tree becomes infinitesimal due to the multiplicate property of the false positive rates for independent Bloom filters. Searches are rapid on even moderately tuned filters.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs stored on a computer-readable storage medium, for video stabilization. In some implementations, a computer system obtains frames of a video captured by a recording device using an optical image stabilization (OIS) system. The computing system receives (i) OIS position data indicating positions of the OIS system during capture of the frames, and (ii) device position data indicating positions of the recording device during capture of the frames. The computing system determines a first transformation for a particular frame based on the OIS position data for the particular frame and device position data for the particular frame. The computing system determines a second transformation for the particular frame based on the first transformation and positions of the recording device occurring after capture of the particular frame. The computing system generates a stabilized version of the particular frame using the second transformation.

The pin system has an elongate tapered shoulder bolt that has a larger and smaller outer diameter with a tapered surface extending between the larger and smaller outer diameter. The system includes an expansion sleeve that has arcuate portions. The expansion sleeve can slide onto the smaller outer diameter with the arcuate portions facing the tapered surface. A nut tightens to move the arcuate portions radially outwardly to apply force to the inside surface of a draw bar. The apparatus can be used with a remelting furnace. The electrode and ingot act as the conductive bodies, and arcs, discharges, or slag currents are the current segments spanning the gap. Actuators for movable sensors can be coupled to the sensors in a servomechanism arrangement to move the sensors along with the moving gap. An actuator for moving one of the conductive bodies can be coupled to sensors in a servomechanism arrangement to maintain the gap distance within a selected range as the gap moves.

Abstract: A novel hybrid lithium-ion anode material based on coaxially coated Si shells on vertically aligned carbon nanofiber (CNF) arrays. The unique cup-stacking graphitic microstructure makes the bare vertically aligned CNF array an effective Li+ intercalation medium. Highly reversible Li? intercalation and extraction were observed at high power rates. More importantly, the highly conductive and mechanically stable CNF core optionally supports a coaxially coated amorphous Si shell which has much higher theoretical specific capacity by forming fully lithiated alloy. Addition of surface effect dominant sites in close proximity to the intercalation medium results in a hybrid device that includes advantages of both batteries and capacitors.
