Abstract: A method of forming a fibrous web including the steps of providing a fiber slurry, depositing the fiber slurry between an inner forming wire and an outer forming wire, wherein the outer forming wire comprises a structured fabric and the inner forming wire contacts a segment of a forming roll, and rotating the forming roll so that the fiber slurry moves into contact with the structured fabric.
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods for use with an AC mitigation device coupled to an underground conductive structure and to one or more buried AC mitigation conductors adjacent to the underground structure. AC current transformers sense AC flowing between the mitigation device and the underground structure, and between the mitigation device and the mitigation conductors. A controllable switch is coupled between the mitigation device and the underground structure. Digitizing circuitry generates digital data corresponding to the AC sensed by the current transformers when the mitigation device is connected to and disconnected from the underground structure.

Abstract: This invention relates in part to plant breeding and herbicide tolerant plants. This invention includes a novel aad-1 transformation event in corn plants comprising a polynucleotide sequence, as described herein, inserted into a specific site within the genome of a corn cell. In some embodiments, said event/polynucleotide sequence can be “stacked” with other traits, including, for example, other herbicide tolerance gene(s) and/or insect-inhibitory proteins. Additionally, the subject invention provides assays for detecting the presence of the subject event in a sample (or corn grain, for example). The assays can be based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct, inserted into the corn genome, and on the genomic sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are also provided.

Abstract: A system tracks user actions associated with advertisements. The system may receive information in response to a user action. The system may then determine whether the action performed by the user resulted from an advertisement.
Abstract: An apparatus configured to operate in a network comprises: control circuitry configured to perform a selection operation to select a preferred base station from one or more base stations in the network, each base station having a backhaul connection; connection circuitry configured to connect to the preferred base station; and communication circuitry configured to receive characteristic data of the backhaul connection of each of the one or more base stations. The control circuitry is configured to perform the selection operation in dependence on the characteristic data.
Abstract: A driver electronics is provided for powering a light engine including light emitting diodes (LEDs). The driver electronics arrangement includes at least two drivers that alternate power to a light engine. By alternating between the two drivers to power the light engine, the service life of the luminaire is increased. In one embodiment, the driver electronics includes at least two drivers, a light engine and a control relay block. The control relay block controls the at least two drivers so that only one of the drivers is powering the light engine at a time.
Abstract: A method of smart cattle reproduction management and digital farm to market transparency metrics tracks, monitors, and predicts reproductive efficiency, providing actionable information that allows the cattle rancher to optimize operations to ensure a high calf crop percentage. Using conventional ear tags to track and monitor the location, temperature, and movement of each animal in the herd, a highly accurate and data-driven reproductive performance score may be calculated for open heifers, cows, and bulls, thereby allowing actions to be taken to enhance reproductive efficiency. In addition, given the high risk of losing a heifer during calving, a method provides a means to detect, in advance and remotely, when a pregnant heifer is about to start calving to allow the cattle rancher to go on site, locate the animal, and provide any veterinary assistance that may be required should the delivery be difficult.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus (100) for profiling a beam of a light emitting semiconductor device. The apparatus comprises a light emitting semiconductor device (102) comprising an active region (108) formed on a substrate (104) and configured to generate light when a suitable electrical current is applied to contacts on an upper surface of the device and a light emitting surface (110) defined by a lower surface of the substrate opposite the contacts. The apparatus further comprises a transmission medium (112) comprising a first surface (114) in contact with at least part of the light emitting surface of the semiconductor device and a diffusion surface (116), opposite the first surface, and configured to diffuse light emitted from the micro-LED and transmitted through the transmission medium.
Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH100811. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH100811, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH100811 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH100811.
