Abstract: This system is a network of sensor nodes with multiple sensors at each node. The nodes are used in combination with a wearable garment to enable multiple types of data to be combined together to produce a fuller picture of a body's physiological state; such as during physical therapy. In addition, the system utilizes acoustic imaging to measure muscle activation. The system transmit this data to a host computer to visualize various data comparisons.

Abstract: A dual motor powered compact drive comprises two electrical motors powering the planetary gear mechanism. The dual drive can provide variable speed and torque. A single electric motor operated braking system with a screw-driven wedged brake pads is described using a compact test set-up. The system comprises at least one motor and a screw shaft connected to transmit the power to a sliding plunger, and braking pads located on a braking disc, and a force sensor applied to measure the braking force, and a device to measure the parameters of the braking motor and the parameters are used as the inputs to establish a control strategy. Systems and methods for monitoring a battery pack including multiple cells are provided. The battery management system further comprises a control strategy for implementing a balancing algorithm. A balancing strategy comprises a determination of battery cells to be balanced, and a calculated balancing current.

Abstract: Methods and systems for oxidizing gas are provided. An example regenerative oxidizer is provided that includes a combustion chamber to heat gas present in the combustion chamber. The regenerative oxidizer also includes a first heat exchange media bed and a second heat exchange media bed, each in fluid communication with the combustion chamber. The regenerative oxidizer also includes a rotary valve disposed at least partially between the first heat exchange media bed and the second heat exchange media bed. The rotary valve may alternate the flow of gas between a first and a second airflow direction. The first heat exchange media bed, the rotary valve, and the second heat exchange media bed are arranged with respect to each other such that the gas pathway between the first heat exchange media bed and the rotary valve and between the second heat exchange media bed and the rotary valve is non-linear.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter includes techniques for providing access to a cloud-based service from a learning management system (LMS). An example method includes receiving a request from a course instructor at a brokerage engine running as an extension of the LMS. The request is a request to configure a course to be provided by a cloud-based service. The request identifies assignments to be accessed by students through the LMS and provisions cloud computing resources of the cloud-based service to be assigned to the students for completion of the assignments. The method also includes performing the request using the cloud-based service by translating, by the brokerage engine, the request to be compatible with the cloud-based service.

Abstract: An imaging device may include single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs). To improve the sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio of the SPADs, light scattering structures may be formed in the semiconductor substrate to increase the path length of incident light through the semiconductor substrate. The light scattering structures may include a low-index material formed in trenches in the semiconductor substrate. The light scattering structures may have different sizes and/or a layout with a non-uniform number of structures per unit area. SPAD devices may also include isolation structures in a ring around the SPADs to prevent crosstalk. The isolation structures may include metal-filled deep trench isolation structures. The metal filler may include tungsten.

Abstract: Described herein are methods of stabilizing the beta hydrogen of glycerol based esters by the insertion of alkoxy groups to significantly improve the thermal, oxidative, and hydrolytic stability of the ester and allow for controlling the molar density of esters bonds in the lubricants to maximize hydrolytic stability while maintaining biodegradability and further improving performance properties.

Abstract: A tree stand platform assembly includes a platform that has a perimeter edge with a front edge, a rear edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The platform has a top surface, a bottom surface and an outer surface positioned between the top and bottom surfaces. The front edge is configured to engage a tree. A plurality of gripping protuberances is attached to and extends outwardly from the outer surface of the rear edge. The gripping protuberances are engageable by a user for stability when the user rotates relative to the platform.

Abstract: A proppant delivery assembly receives and supports a plurality of containers having proppant stored therein. A cradle has a top surface which receives and supports the plurality of containers when positioned thereon. The cradle enables the plurality of containers to dispense the proppant stored therein. A proppant mover is positioned to underlie and extend along the top surface of the cradle aligned with the plurality of containers to receive proppant from the plurality of containers. The proppant mover carries proppant away from the plurality of containers. A chute is coupled to the cradle for receiving proppant from the proppant mover and directing the proppant to a blender hopper. A hood assembly is disposed at an end of the chute opposite the proppant mover for directing a vacuum air flow that removes a volume of air containing proppant dust particles directed from the chute.

The system compares, in real-time, the current user's polling responses to identify which most similarly match the answered questions to that of the user. As the user progressively answers questions, the system updates the matching and presentation other users and of products, goods and services. Thus, as the user answers polling questions, the selected answers are compared against the selected descriptions of other products, goods and services, or general questions, to generate a likelihood of match between the users, and also each of the products, goods and services. The profiles of products, goods and services that have a likelihood of match within a predetermined threshold are then presented, including links within the profile for specific purchases.

At least a second side of the balloon is fitted into the ear canal. Audio processing circuitry produces an audio signal for driving a speaker in the device and to measure sound level using output from the microphone in the device while the speaker is being driven by the audio signal.
