Abstract: Disclosed are semiconductor devices that include additional gate pads, and methods of fabricating and testing such devices. A device may include a first gate pad, a second gate pad, and a third gate pad. The first gate pad is connected to a gate including a gate oxide layer. The second and third gate pads are part of an electro-static discharge (ESD) protection network for the device. The ESD protection network is initially isolated from the first gate pad and hence from the gate and gate oxide layer. Accordingly, gate oxide integrity (GOI) testing can be effectively performed and the reliability and quality of the gate oxide layer can be checked. The second gate pad can be subsequently connected to the first gate pad to enable the ESD protection network, and the third gate pad can be subsequently connected to an external terminal when the device is packaged.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for use of watermarking as a basis control abandonment of dynamic content modification. Upon detecting of the occurrence of a trigger event for causing a content presentation device to abandon a dynamic content modification with respect to a media stream being delivered to the content presentation device, an entity encodes into the media stream an abandonment-watermark interpretable by the content presentation device to cause the content presentation device to abandon the dynamic content modification. The content presentation device then detects the abandonment-watermark in the media stream being received by the content presentation device and in response to the abandonment-watermark, abandons the dynamic content modification.
Abstract: A telecommunications system (14) includes a chassis (12) defining a front (18), a rear (16), and a plurality of first signal connection locations (38) adjacent the rear (16). A plurality of removable cassettes (10) are housed within the chassis (12), each including a cassette body (68) defining a fixed portion (80) that is coupled to one of the first signal connection locations (38) on the chassis (12) and a movable portion (82) that telescopically slides relative to the fixed portion (80), wherein the movable portion (82) is configured for movement in a direction from the front (18) to the rear (16) of the chassis (12), each cassette (10) defining a plurality of second signal connection locations (58).

Abstract: Providing optical watermark signals for a visual authentication session by performing at least the following: receive, at an anti-spoof engine, an instruction to perform visual authentication operations for a visual authentication session, generate, with the anti-spoof engine, an optical watermark signal based on receiving the instruction, wherein the optical watermark signal includes at least one optical identifier to authenticate images captured during the visual authentication session, obtain, with the anti-spoof engine, an image source that includes captured images of the visual authentication session, determine, with the anti-spoof engine, whether the image source includes a reflected optical watermark signal, and compare, with the anti-spoof engine, whether the reflected optical watermark signal matches the generated optical watermark signal based on the determination that the image source includes the reflected optical watermark signal.

Abstract: A recording head that includes a reader having a front end at a bearing surface of the recording head and a rear end behind the bearing surface. The reader has a non-rectangular shape with a front-end width that is less than an average width of the reader. A first bias element is positioned proximate to a first side of the reader, and a second bias element is positioned proximate to a second side of the reader. Each of the first and second bias elements has a bias level that is a function of a ratio of the front-end width to the average width of the reader.

Abstract: An integrated circuit (IC) chip design for symmetric power delivery includes an integrated circuit (IC) chip package with I/O connections exposed on a first surface and power connections exposed on a second opposite surface. At least one voltage regulation module (VRM) is positioned on the second opposite surface and electrically coupled to the power connections on the second opposite surface.
Abstract: The present invention involves the use of a small profile device for preparation and/or delivery of cold slurry into the human body. The cold slurry can be generated within the device itself or within a separate small chamber, both of which produce a cold slurry using a cooling source and an injectable fluid. The delivery device provides continued agitation to the fluid/slurry through rotation and/or vibration of blades within the device. The fluid/cold slurry is cooled/kept cool through the use of an external cooling device, such as a cooling sleeve, that at least partially surrounds the delivery device. The cooling sleeve can cool or maintain the temperature of the cold slurry through a number of mechanisms. The cold slurry can be delivered using a device in accordance with the present invention to any tissue inside the body, including subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, and brown fat.

Abstract: A compact silencer (suppressor) device for a firearm comprising of multiple chambers which trap the gases from a projectile exiting the barrel of a gun to slow down the gases and reduce the temperature, sound, and flash associated with the projectile. In one embodiment, the first chamber which attaches to the barrel of the firearm comprises of sound baffling materials or gas porting baffles which vent gases from the second chamber passing rearward. The second chamber comprises of a chamber which can accommodate a retractable third chamber of the device, the second and third chamber of the device can have sound baffles to slow down the gases from the projectile.
