Abstract: A pneumatic seed delivery system is provided for use with planter for row-crop planting an agricultural field in which the pneumatic seed delivery system may use high pressure air to accelerate seeds that are singulated from a seed meter to match ground speed when planting. The pneumatic seed delivery system includes an air accelerator arranged downstream of a release location of the seed meter. The air accelerator may define a pneumatic device such as an air conveyor or air amplifier that merges a primary airflow with a controllable supplemental airflow to provide a correspondingly controllable combined airflow that carries and accelerates the singulated seeds so that the seeds can be released with a rearward horizontal seed velocity component that approximates a forward ground speed of the planter to reduce seed tumble.

Abstract: A locomotive speed determination system and method receive image data of a field of view of a camera operably disposed onboard a locomotive. A speed and/or heading of the locomotive are determined as the vehicle is moving based at least in part on one or more differences in the image data. In one aspect, pixel intensities in different images or frames may be examined to identify one or more features of interest in the images or frames. Movement of the one or more features of interest in the images or frames is correlated to movement of the locomotive along the route, and the time difference between when the images or frames are obtained can be used to determine the locomotive speed.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to calculate a “life script.” The life script may include various behaviors and/or monetary allocations required for a user to meet one or more user-defined objectives. These objectives may indicate various lifestyle habits desired by the user such as where to live, a maximum commuting time to work, how often to travel, etc. Because each of these objectives requires the user to allocate his funds in a certain way and to live in accordance with a particular set of restraints, user information may be collected and aggregated from several sources to generate a user profile indicating the user's financial information, demographics, psychographics, and lifestyle information. The user profile may then be analyzed to calculate a constraint framework that guides the generation of a life script to allow the user to achieve the desired objectives.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application generally relate to controlling ingress/egress through entryway devices. More particularly, but not exclusively, embodiments of the present invention relate to attaining confirmation of intent relating to access to a controlled opening. According to certain embodiments, the credential device and/or the user of the credential device is prompted to provide a response, or otherwise is to perform certain actions, that can demonstrate a confirmation of intent to gain access to the controlled opening. Such responses and/or actions can be evaluated to determine authority to gain access to the controlled opening. Further, such intent confirmation events may, depending on the embodiment, be performed before or after credential information is communicated from the credential device and/or before or after pairing of the access control device and the credential device.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for forming a frame on the backplane comprising structures at least partially circumscribing or enclosing metal contacts on the backplane. In some embodiments, the frame may comprise a photoresist. The dimensions and structural integrity of the frame can help prevent misalignment and/or damage of physical obtrusions of light-emitting structures during a bonding process of the light-emitting structures to the backplane.
Abstract: A landscape lighting system comprises a plurality of landscape lighting fixtures, wherein each of the landscape lighting fixtures comprise a light source and circuitry. The circuitry is configured to receive a combined power and control signal over power supply wiring, separate the control signal from a power component of the combined signal, and cause the light source to be controlled based on the control signal.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to the field of molecules having pesticidal utility against pests in Phyla Arthropoda, Mollusca, and Nematoda, processes to produce such molecules, intermediates used in such processes, pesticidal compositions containing such molecules, and processes of using such pesticidal compositions against such pests. These pesticidal compositions may be used, for example, as acaricides, insecticides, miticides, molluscicides, and nematicides. This document discloses molecules having the following formula (“Formula One”).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media are shown for calculating an estimated amount of time needed to read a document. The estimate is based on historical session data. Reading sessions are identified in part by excluding sessions that include non-reading user behavior signals, such as adding text to the document, printing, or changing formatting. Reading sessions are further identified by generating session clusters based on shared attributes, and for each cluster, determining if a relationship exists between session time and the shared attribute. If a relationship exists, sessions are excluded if they don't fit the relationship. Once reading sessions are identified, coefficients for a formula are generated that are applied to an unseen document to estimate reading time. Each coefficient is associated with an element type. The coefficients are derived by iteratively analyzing documents with one unknown element type and subtracting out contributions of known element types.
Abstract: A quick-connect coupler includes an input, a main body, an inner sleeve, a ball retainer, a valve, and outer and inner balls. The main body is coupled with the input. The inner sleeve is disposed in the interior chamber of the main body and is slidably coupled with the main body. The ball retainer defines an interior chamber and a second aperture. The ball retainer is disposed in the interior chamber of the main body and is slidably coupled with the main body. The valve defines a passageway and is disposed in the interior chamber of the ball retainer. The valve is slidably coupled with the input. The inner and outer balls are disposed in the first and second apertures. respectively. The interior chamber of the main body defines a first diameter.
