  • Patent number: 10996739
Abstract: Techniques to provide for improved (i.e., reduced) power consumption in an exemplary neural network (NN) and/or Deep Neural Network (DNN) environment using data management. Improved power consumption in the NN/DNN may be achieved by reducing a number of bit flips needed to process operands associated with one or more storages. Reducing the number bit flips associated with the NN/DNN may be achieved by multiplying an operand associated with a first storage with a plurality of individual operands associated with a plurality of kernels of the NN/DNN. The operand associated with the first storage may be neuron input data and the plurality of individual operands associated with the second storage may be weight values for multiplication with the neuron input data. The plurality of kernels may be arranged or sorted and subsequently processed in a manner that improves power consumption in the NN/DNN.

  • Patent number: 10997315
Abstract: In various embodiments, before a data subject request can be processed, the data subject's identity may need to be verified. In various embodiments, the system provides a mechanism to automatically detect the type of authentication required for a particular data subject based on the type of Data Subject Access Request being made and automatically issues a request to the data subject to verify their identity against that form of identification. For example, a subject rights request might only require two types of authentication, but a deletion request may require four types of data to verify authentication. The system may automatically detect which is type of authentication is required based on the DSAR and send an appropriate request to the data subject to verify their identity.

  • Patent number: 10996822
Abstract: Techniques to control arrangement of items in a user interface is described. In one or more implementations, intuitive rearrangement of items in a user interface is caused by a computing device. A priority ordering of items, one to another, is determined that is specified for display of the items in a first layout in a user interface of the computing device. The items are assigned into respective ones of a plurality of groups that together compose one or more linear arrangements of the groups. Arrangement of the items is controlled by the computing device for display in a second layout in the user interface that is different from the first layout by an amount of display area available in the user interface along one or more dimensions.

  • Patent number: 10996236
Abstract: An accelerometer wireless position transducer or sensor is physically coupled to a control device in a process control system and includes an accelerometer that generates a signal based on a position of the control device or its actuator. The transducer converts the accelerometer signal into a wireless signal that includes a value indicative of the actuator position, and causes the wireless position feedback signal to be transmitted over a wireless channel to a valve controller, e.g., by using a short-range wireless protocol. The controller controls the valve based on the value included in the wireless signal. In some configurations, the feedback signal is received at a device paired with the transducer, and the paired device transmits the feedback signal to the controller. The paired device may be paired with multiple transducers and/or sensors, and may transmit various feedback signals to multiple recipient controllers and other devices.

  • Patent number: 10997092
Abstract: An apparatus includes a host and a baseboard. An out-of-band request is received via a host network interface of the host. The baseboard includes a management controller operating independently of the host and coupled to a management network interface separate from the host network interface. The out-of-band request is sent via an in-band communications channel from a proxy server of the host to a management agent running on the management controller microprocessor. Management data is formatted via the management agent. The management data is sent to the proxy server via the in-band communications channel. The management data describes hardware status that is obtained via the management controller in response to the out-of-band request. The management data is sent from the host network interface in response to the out-of-band request.

  • Patent number: 10999206
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling congestion of a data network are provided. An engine round-trip time (RTT) and a fabric RTT for a network flow are determined. An engine-based congestion window size for the flow is determined based on the engine RTT and a target engine RTT. A fabric-based congestion window size for the flow is determined based on the fabric RTT and a target fabric RTT. The smaller of the engine-based congestion window size and the fabric-based window size is selected for use in transmitting a future packet associated with the flow. The target engine RTT is determined based in part on the current congestion window used to transmit packets for the flow and/or the target fabric RTT is determined based on a number of hops packets associated with the flow traverse from a source to a destination associated with the flow.

  • Patent number: 10999905
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to accurate analog dimming of a light emitting diode (LED). Accurate dimming can require precise control of a power converter that supplies the LED with a current. The precise control relies on accurately sensing a level of the LED. When the power converter operates in a discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), for example at a low dimming ratio, the accuracy of the sensed LED-level can be affected by a resonant current offset, resulting from current ringing in the power converter. The disclosed circuits and methods provide accurate control of the LED-level by compensating for the resonant current offset in the sensed LED-level.

  • Patent number: 10996514
Abstract: A headset includes a backlight assembly, a display panel, and an optics block. The backlight assembly includes an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs), a diffusing element, and a brightness enhancement film. The array of LEDs and the brightness enhancement film are configured in a way such that the light generated by the backlight assembly has a non-uniform brightness distribution. The display panel receives the light and convert the light to image light. The image light has at least the non-uniform brightness distribution. The optics block includes one or more optical elements that direct the image light to an eyebox of the headset. The optics block adds another non-uniform brightness distribution to the image light to offset the non-uniform brightness distribution from the backlight assembly, such that the image light directed to the eyebox has a target brightness distribution.

  • Patent number: 10995684
Abstract: A variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) of an engine of a vehicle has a VGT mechanism and a VGT actuator connected to the VGT actuator. A controller is connected to the VGT actuator, and is configured to monitor at least one entry condition such as vehicle battery voltage, voltage at the VGT actuator, temperature of the engine, its oil, and its coolant, and exhaust gas temperature. If the entry conditions are met, the controller performs a learn procedure in which the VGT actuator cycles the VGT mechanism through its range of motion following a key-off shutdown command. The learn procedure may take place immediately preceding, during, or immediately following shutdown of the engine. The VGT actuator then reports to the controller an available range of motion of the VGT actuator and of the VGT mechanism.
