  • Patent number: 7127721
Abstract: The Core Network Management Object Model of the present invention generically models the physical and logical objects in a configuration management system. The present invention also models the generic action objects required to manipulate the network objects. Unique object level information is isolated at the leaf level of the object model and is not proliferated to other generic parts of the model. The action objects all model different actions that need to be performed in a configuration application architecture and insulates the network objects from having any knowledge of session and event information. Leaf objects and actions are specialized to perform any configuration related actions. In the Core Network Management Object Model an Object Factory creates the unique object and an Action Factory creates the unique action. The action shall then be performed on the unique object to get, set and modify device information through SNMP and also to store the information in the database.

  • Patent number: 7126938
Abstract: In a multimedia communications system (100), a multimedia-based answering system (200) lowers the amount of air interface bandwidth used to send multimedia mail messages. When a called party is unavailable, a user of a user terminal (102) is given an option to send a multimedia mail message for the unavailable called party (300, 302, 304). If the user wants to send a multimedia mail message, the bandwidth requirements for the call are renegotiated to reduce bandwidth for sending the multimedia mail message (306). The multimedia mail message is then transmitted over-the-air to a multimedia mail system (208), where the multimedia mail message is buffered, transcoded (if necessary) and stored until the called party retrieves it (308, 310).

  • Patent number: 7127708
Abstract: A method for programming of a plurality of programmable devices arranged in a JTAG boundary scan chain takes advantage of knowledge of a target system. The method speeds device programming and reduces system memory requirements. Raw data is extracted from high-level files. The raw data is stored in the target system. JTAG boundary scan chain information is coded into device programming software. Alternatively, the JTAG chain information is stored as data in the target system. The device programming software treats JTAG I/O registers of the programmable devices as concatenated shift registers. Data packets are assembled that include, for example, a byte of programming information, for each of the devices. The packets are shifted through into the JTAG chain. Bytes of the packet are aligned with, and loaded into, respective devices. Optionally, the validity of data loaded is checked by comparing it to the stored raw data. Invalid data is reprogrammed.

  • Patent number: 7127664
Abstract: The present invention discloses a single unified decoder for performing both convolutional decoding and turbo decoding in the one architecture. The unified decoder can be partitioned dynamically to perform required decoding operations on varying numbers of data streams at different throughput rates. It also supports simultaneous decoding of voice (convolutional decoding) and data (turbo decoding) streams. This invention forms the basis of a decoder that can decode all of the standards for TDMA, IS-95, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, and CDMA2000. Processors are stacked together and interconnected so that they can perform separately as separate decoders or in harmony as a single high speed decoder. The unified decoder architecture can support multiple data streams and multiple voice streams simultaneously. Furthermore, the decoder can be dynamically partitioned as required to decode voice streams for different standards.

  • Patent number: 7126603
Abstract: Techniques for creating interactive walkthroughs or visualizations of real-world environments. Such environments for which interactive walkthroughs may be created may comprise large interior spaces (e.g., buildings), wherein a space may comprise multiple rooms. The interactive walkthroughs may be photorealistic and rendered from arbitrary viewpoints at interactive rates. In one aspect of the invention, a technique for generating a visualization representative of an environment comprises the following steps. A dense set of image data is captured from the environment. The captured image data is compressed for storage. A portion of the compressed image data may then be decompressed so as to render a visualization representative of the environment from a selected novel viewpoint. Another portion of the image data may be prefetched and decompressed such that captured image data surrounding the selected novel viewpoint is available to be rendered.

  • Patent number: 7127519
Abstract: A Near Optimal Fairness (NOF) algorithm is disclosed for resolving data collisions in a network shared by a plurality of users. The NOF algorithm calculates an optimal back-off or contention window which is broadcast to users competing for system bandwidth. The NOF algorithm handles data contention in cycles and guarantees that each user competing for system bandwidth within a cycle will make a successful reservation before the cycle ends and a new cycle begins. The size of the back-off window is preferably equal to the number of successful reservations in the previous cycle, and functions as an estimate of the number of competing users in the current cycle.

  • Patent number: 7127244
Abstract: A system and method for delivering incoming calls to mobile unit(s) in border cells using packet-based links. An incoming call is received at a serving mobile switching center (SMSC) (204) for a mobile unit (214) in a border cell served by a border mobile switching center (BMSC) (206). The SMSC allocates (420) processing resources for the incoming call using a voice coder/frame selector (218) and designates a data link connection identifier (DLCI) identifying the voice coder resources to be used for the call. The SMSC sends (422) the DLCI to the BMSC and the BMSC assigns traffic channel resources for the call via an attached base station (208). The BMSC provides (424) the DLCI to the base station, causing the base station to establish a packet link between the voice coder and the traffic channel resources. Thereafter, the BMSC rings (426) the mobile unit.

  • Patent number: 7122872
Abstract: Materials such as titanium are vapor-deposited in the presence of, e.g., oxygen to form a film on a substrate, such as to provide an adhesion layer between a silicon movable structure in an optical MEMS device and a gold layer serving as a reflecting surface. The resulting film contains titanium and oxygen. Varying the conditions under which the film is deposited varies the intrinsic stress of the film, which varies the change in substrate shape caused by the presence of the film. A film having a desired intrinsic stress may be obtained by control of the oxygen partial pressure when the film is deposited. In one embodiment, the oxygen partial pressure in the atmosphere present during titanium deposition is greater than about 2×10?7 Torr, and preferably between about 1×10?6 Torr and about 2×10?6 Torr.

  • Patent number: 7124187
Abstract: Restorable paths in an information network are established in response to arriving traffic requests. Requests are received at a first node of the network for transmission of traffic to a second node of the network, and each request specifies a desired transmission bandwidth for an active and a backup path to be established between the nodes. Potential active links for an active path are identified in response to a given request, and potential backup links to form a backup path for restoring the active path, are also identified in response to the given request. An active and a backup path are then formulated for each given request from among the potential active links and the potential backup links that were identified in response to the given request.

  • Patent number: 7123931
Abstract: An algorithm calculates a correction value to be applied to a slot in an adjustment period for power correction. For each slot, the algorithm determines whether adding a correction value in a given slot would bring the actual accumulative adjustment value closer or farther from an accumulative adjustment target value. The accumulative adjustment target value has a linear relationship with the slot number and is calculated for each slot to ensure that any corrections are evenly distributed over the adjustment period for a smooth correction. In one embodiment, the algorithm also checks the total amount of adjustment applied to the slots over a sliding adjustment window to make sure that the total amount of adjustment applied to the slots in the adjustment window do not exceed a predetermined maximum threshold.
