  • Patent number: 7396052
Abstract: A sanitary connector apparatus includes first and second tubular members coaxially aligned such that a first member end of the first tubular member is positioned toward a second member end of the second tubular member. First and second sealing components radially extend from the first and second member ends, respectively. An annular groove is formed into the first end face of the first sealing component and a corresponding resilient rib is integrally formed with the second end face of the second sealing component. A clamp band, secured around the outer perimeter of the first and second sealing components, has two extension members that apply compressive force to the sealing components in a direction coaxial to the tubular members. The compressive force applied is sufficient to compress the resilient rib into the corresponding groove and position the first end face against the second end face.

  • Publication number: 20080159183
Abstract: A first transceiver in a packet-based communications system is operated to achieve efficiencies. The transceiver comprises a receiver and a transmitter for bidirectionally communicating with a second transceiver. In various embodiments, data and control traffic scheduling enables several unrelated items to be bundled during single transmission and/or reception instances. In one aspect, receiver operation involves receiving a first signal from the second transceiver, the first signal requiring that return link information be sent to the second transceiver. A period of time during which the first transceiver can begin a bundled transmission of the return link information and initiating link information that is unrelated to the information carried by the first signal is determined. The bundled transmission of the initiating and return link information is begun during the determined period of time.

  • Publication number: 20080153486
Abstract: By employing an intelligent search order, a user equipment in a mobile communication system can shorten the time needed to find a cell/public land mobile network. After a first cell has been found, the equipment can determine which frequencies it will be worthwhile to search when another search is needed for a second cell. The equipment can thus avoid wasting time searching for cells in frequencies of a radio access technology that may not be valid when cells can be found in a most recently used group of frequencies of another radio access technology.
