Abstract: A method of elastifying a non-woven or plastic jacket of a pants-type article in its unassembled hour-glass form, arranged end-to-end in a longitudinal web, includes the steps of stretching a web length of elastic net, film or elastomeric non-woven material, which is rectilinear in its unstretched state, transversely but not longitudinally at the two end portions (113) which will form the waist, stretching the length of elastic net, film or elastomeric non-woven material longitudinally but not transversely at the intermediate crotch portion (14) therebetween, whereby the net or film will naturally assume the desired hour-glass shape of the jacket to be elastified, then bonding the stretched net or film in its hour-glass shape to the jacket (5).

Abstract: A method for producing an absorbent structure intended for use in an absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, incontinence guard, diaper, wherein the absorbent structure is produced by laying a layer of essentially superabsorbent material between two layers of defibered and moisturized cellulose pulp or tissue, whereafter the composite structure is calendared between one or more pairs of heated rolls, wherewith the layer of superabsorbent material binds in itself and forms a stable layer, which binds to the surrounding cellulose pulp layers or tissue layers. The absorbent structure exhibits excellent absorption properties and can be made very thin. The structure can be manufactured without superabsorbent material being spread around the manufacturing machine during the production process, or escaping from the finished absorbent article when packaging, transporting or using the article.

In order to prevent urine from being mixed with faeces in the rear area of the article, an essentially liquid impermeable membrane is laid between an inner cover layer and an absorbent layer laying outside of it. The article has an opening to a pocket lying outside the membrane to make possible transport of urine from a front wetting area of the article to a rear area of the absorbent body which lies outside the membrane.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an absorbent structure in an absorbent product such as a sanitary napkin, panty liner, diaper or similar product, which is manufactured by air-permeable forming elements. In the present method, the constituent fibres or similar material are given a certain electrical potential while the forming elements completely or partially are given an opposite potential or are grounded, the position and duration of the potential being variable. The material's orientation, distribution and location can be controlled so that the structure in the absorbent product can have the desired appearance.

Abstract: A hypertrophic scar dressing includes silicone-gel on that side of the dressing which lies against the user's skin when worn. A flexible carrier sheet (1) is embodied within the silicone-gel such that the gel forms continuous layers (2, 3) on both sides of the carrier material. The silicone-gel is tacky and skin-adherent and the dressing has a thickness of 0.2-1.5 mm.
