  • Patent number: 4172771
Abstract: The present method produces compound materials by an electrolytic deposit. The extraneous, non-soluble matter is suspended in a fine distribution in the electrolyte. The foreign or extraneous matter and the metal are deposited in the absence of gravity, whereby homogeneous compound materials may be produced having a uniform and/or defined particle distribution. The present apparatus includes a closed electrolytic bath container. A gas separator is operatively connected to the bath. Supply and receiving containers may be connected to the bath container.

  • Patent number: 4168005
Abstract: A separating apparatus for separating objects of a particular kind from a stream of falling objects e.g. for use in crop harvesting comprising a movable separating member which is alternately held stationary in a first position to deflect objects of the particular kind in one direction and moved to a second position to allow other objects to fall in another direction wherein the separating member is moved between its first and second positions in such a manner, e.g. with an essentially reciprocating motion, that the volume swept by the separating member in the path of the falling objects is comparable with the volume of the separating member itself so that objects can follow one another at a close spacing without preventing satisfactory separating action.

  • Patent number: 4168435
Abstract: A method and apparatus for pre-processing by means of analogue techniques radiological information obtained by exposing a subject at various spaced positions on one side of this subject to an out-fanning, substantially flat beam of penetrating radiation. The resultant ray transmissions on the other side of the subject are recorded on a record medium as continuous and analogue signals located along a collection of recording paths each having a predetermined trajectory and a spatial orientation related to an associated position of exposure. The radiological information thus recorded is then scanned and read-out along another collection of adjacent scanning paths each having a predetermined trajectory which intersects different recording paths and likewise having a spatial orientation related to the associated position of exposure.

  • Patent number: 4168458
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for detecting, signalling and sorting inaccurately formed articles produced by a tool machine which machine has a first relatively stationary machining element and a second movable machining element cooperating with the stationary machining element. A rotatable pulse generator rotated by any suitable drive portion of the tool machine is used to generate pulses, the number of which is proportional to the movement of the movable machining element. The number of pulses generated between the starting and stopping of the movable machine element are counted and compared to preset lower and upper limits. A logic circuit then emits a signal to a power amplifier and a reject switch if the counted number of pulses falls outside of the lower and upper limits that have been preset. The reject switch may either shut down part or all of the machine or operate a gate in a chute through which the article must pass and directs the same to the reject bin if the same is inaccurately formed.
