The U.V.-curable binder is preferably an adduct containing at least one isocyanate group of (a) an acrylic or methacrylic hydroxy ester having 5 to 20 carbon atoms and (b) a polyisocyanate having 4 to 40 carbon atoms and 2 to 4 isocyanate groups.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for tightening a nut and bolt assembly to ensure that the bolt shank is tensioned correctly using a wrench having two relatively movable detector parts carried by the body of the wrench, one part being a cylindrical outer casing which engages the abutment surface non-rotatably, the other part being a stem extending axially from the body and having its outer end engaging the body of the nut and its inner end connected to a holder for a microswitch arranged to cooperate with an actuating member fixed to said outer casing, said microswitch being in an electrical circuit which controls power to the wrench and/or a visible or audible signal.
Abstract: A method for loosening stony soil by means of a rotating cutting head fastened to the rear of a tractor and having cutting members to be drawn through the soil and being mounted according to a helical line.Stony soil can be readily loosened to the desired depth because the cutting head can be kept at an acute angle to the direction of movement. So the cutting head is drawn in a stable manner in the direction to the tractor against the stone surface concerned and penetrates the stony soil like a plough, the soil above the cutting head being torn up upwardly.
Abstract: An anchor caddy useful in raising an anchor by translating the force exerted on the anchor line by movement of the boat to a vertical force on the anchor is disclosed. The device can also function having the anchor on a few feet of line extending therefrom, as a sea anchor. The anchor caddy consists of a float adapted to support the anchor and caddy. A pulley and housing therefore are attached to the float and movable deflector plates are pivotally mounted at ends thereof on either side of the pulley housing. The anchor line extends from the anchor, over the pulley, through a releaseable, one way dogging mechanism, mounted within the housing, to the boat. The dogging mechanism, when engaged, will permit the line to pass over the pulley only in the direction of the boat. Force exerted on the line causes the deflector plates to pivot outwardly to about 45.degree. angles with the pulley.
Abstract: A process for preparing 2-(3-benzoylphenyl)-propionic acid which includes treating 1-(3-benzoylphenyl)-propine with a thallium (III) salt in a lower alkanol to obtain 2-(3-benzoylphenyl)-propionic ester, and hydrolyzing the ester.

Abstract: A liquid developer composition suitable for use in developing electrostatic charge patterns, which composition contains in an electrically insulating non-polar carrier liquid a dispersed particulate coloring substance, at least one charge control substances, a copolymer (I) precoating the coloring substance particles in a weight ratio of copolymer (I) to coloring substance between 1:1 and 9:1 and a copolymer (II) in the carrier liquid in a weight ratio of copolymer (II) to coloring substance between 0.5:1 and 5:1,Said copolymer (I) being a copolymer consisting of 50 to 90 mole % of recurring units of the following formula (A) ##STR1## wherein X is phenyl or alkylphenyl, and from 10 to 50 mole % of recurring units of the following formula (B) ##STR2## wherein R is a hydroxyl group or is a group resulting from the esterification of hydroxyl by means of a C.sub.12 -C.sub.20 aliphatic acid with the proviso that the copolymer (I) contains at least 0.
Abstract: A suspension device for a support, in particular a support for a fixing panel, in which a body portion is formed as an integral structure and has two laterally extending diverging arms extending from junction points on the body portions. The body portion has downwardly extending feet, which extend at least up to the junction point of the lower of the clamping arms, and the arms are provided with axially aligned apertures to receive a support bar on the panels. Locking feet are provided at the lower ends of the legs to engage in an orifice in a support member.
Abstract: A process is provided for simultaneously coating an article with a metal and a synthetic resin. In this process, the article to be coated is made the cathode in an aqueous electroplating bath. The electroplating bath contains (1) a metal salt, (2) particles of a synthetic resin in a concentration of about 3 to about 250 grams per liter of bath, (3) a cationic surfactant and (4) a nonionic surfactant. The concentration of the resin particles in the bath is from about 3 to about 250 grams per liter and the particle size of the resin is less than about 10 micrometers. The cationic and nonionic surfactants are used in a ratio of between 100:1 and 2:1 and the concentration of the two surfactants in the bath is at least 4.times.10.sup.-3 mmoles per m.sup.2 of surface area of the particles. The bath is subjected to electrolysis until a coating of a metal and the resin forms on the surface of the article. A resinous coating is deposited over the layer of metal and resin.
Abstract: Plant material derived from the family Hypoxidaceae is heated at a temperature of at least 60.degree. C. for a sufficient period to ensure enzyme destruction and is then extracted at a temperature of 0.degree.-30.degree. C. with aqueous alcohol containing 30-75 volume percent ethanol for about 1 to 15 days to obtain a pharmaceutically active material.
