Abstract: A winding apparatus for winding wire onto bobbins including a support member for first and second bobbins and means for rotating the support about an axis parallel to that of the bobbin for moving the bobbins into alignment with the bobbin shaft, and means for laterally moving the bobbins from the carrier onto the bobbin shaft as well as from the shaft onto the carrier, so that a full bobbin may be removed from the bobbin shaft, the carrier member rotated so as to bring an empty bobbin into alignment with the bobbin shaft and then for moving the empty bobbin onto the bobbin shaft so that it may be wound with wire.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for lapping workpieces or components. A planetary-type plane lapping machine has a stationary lapping disc and a rotary driven rotary lapping disc. A cage having a socket for holding work to be lapped is disposed between the stationary lapping disc and the rotary lapping disc. The cage is a planet gear driven by a sun gear and a ring gear of a sun-and-planet gear. A differential gear train couples the sun gear with the rotary disc for driving the rotary lapping disc and a differential mechanism controls the direction of wear of the working surfaces of the lapping discs. In order to carry out the method disclosed the rotary lapping disc is driven rotationally at substantially twice the speed at which the center of the cage rotates about the axis of rotation of the rotary lapping disc. This precludes the development of forces of the work being lapped from acting on the cage.

Abstract: An electronic reverberation device comprising an input amplifier and an output amplifier connected in a circuit in which a delay device is connected between an output of the input amplifier and an input of the output amplifier, and a feedback path connects an output of the output amplifier to an input of the input amplifier. In order to render the operation of the device substantially frequency-independent, the delay line is a variable delay line the delay of which can be regulated by a regulator controlled by a control device which derives a control voltage from the output of the input amplifier. Preferably, the delay device is a bucket memory, the regulator a clock, and the control device comprises a diode having one terminal connected to the output of the input amplifier and another that is earth-connected through a capacitor and connected through a resistor to a control input of the clock.
Abstract: A method of arranging twine around a bale of straw or hay formed by pressing in a baling machine in which twine is fed from two separate bobbins, and, while pressure on the bale is maintained, one knot is laid in both pieces of twine for tying off the bale and another knot as starting knot for a following bale. The time periods of the formation of the knots overlap. The knots formed are noose type knots. The knots are formed under substantially no tension, so that the bales can be pressed with a considerable pressure, and a resulting increased density, without affecting the process of forming the knots or the firmness and stability of formed knots.Apparatus for binding bales in a baling machine comprising means for supplying twine for each twine loop, from two separate bobbins, and first and second rotary driven knotters.

Abstract: Apparatus wherein a partially ionized mass of gas is enclosed by a rotationally symmetric, axially elongate housing and set in rotation by a force which arises as a result of a substantially axial magnetic field constant in time and an electric current having a non-zero vector component in the radial direction, whereby positively charged ions originating from a centralized axial gas discharge arc region and moving at a high speed of rotation set the whole mass of gas in rotation by pulse transfer, said housing being lined on the inside with annular wall electrodes segmented in non-azimuthal direction and arranged against each other; the inside wall of said housing at an extremity thereof curving toward the center axis and approaching a centrally mounted electrode of opposite polarity, the wall electrodes being connected with variable resistors which are adjusted so that the voltage applied to the wall electrodes increases blockwise from a minimum value at a chosen point on the axis of the housing to the grid-

Abstract: Seed drill has a row of coulters which are raised and lowered by a beam extending along and above the row of coulters and connected to the coulters by spring assemblies. The beam is raised and lowered relative to the frame of the drill by two rams to actuate the coulters. The mounting of the beam comprises an articulated joint, such as a ball joint, which permits the ends of the beam to rise and fall independently of each other relative to the frame thereby permitting improved contour following by the coulters and avoiding excessive loads on the beam in the event of failure of one of the rams.
Abstract: Trash removal apparatus in a sugar cane harvester comprises an axial flow extractor fan having multiple blades to draw trash out of harvested cane and to discharge it through a duct on the pressure side of the fan. The duct is in the form of a helical trash guide member which collects the trash out of the air flow and discharges the trash laterally. The diameter of the fan blades is chosen so as to leave a relatively large annular gap between their ends and the wall of the duct through which most of the trash passes thereby reducing power consumption by the fan.
Abstract: A revolving door comprising at least one upright door element arranged in outwardly extending disposition about an upright axis of revolution, motor means being provided together with control means operable to position the door at a first rotational disposition from which, when the door is turned in one direction by a user pushing against said door element, power assistance is given to the door to effect rotation thereof; limit means being provided to cause the door to then come to rest at said first rotational disposition, in the absence of continued pushing by said user, after movement of the door under action of said motor means.
Abstract: A device for normally maintaining a predetermined, set spacing between two associated flaking rollers of a flaking mill and for allowing the two rollers to spread apart from one another if unflakable material of a size larger than the predetermined, set spacing between the two rollers is fed therebetween. A hydraulic piston having a manually adjustable stop is mounted between the two rollers so as to maintain a predetermined, set spacing between the two rollers. A gas piston is associated with the hydraulic piston to act as a shock absorber if any unflakable material of a size larger than the predetermined, set spacing between the two rollers is fed therebetween to allow the two rollers to spread apart. The gas piston is preloaded to a pressure substantially greater than the pressure normally required to flake the material being fed between the two rollers.
