Patent number: 4003928Abstract: A process is described for the preparation of urea at a high temperature and pressure whereby the quantity of water recycled to the urea-synthesis reactor along with the recycle ammonium carbamate may be reduced. The high pressure aqueous urea solution from the reactor is expanded into two or more ammonium carbamate decomposition stages operating at successively lower pressures. In at least one of the ammonium carbamate decomposition stages the expanded aqueous urea solution is heated in a controlled manner and a first off-gas is separated. The residual aqueous urea solution is again heated and a second off-gas is removed, which off-gas is combined with the first off-gas, condensed and recycled to the urea-synthesis reactor.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1974Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Stamicarbon N.V.Inventor: Antonius M. Patent number: 4003331Abstract: A marine outboard motor is provided with an exhaust valve assembly to operate automatically and prevent ingress of water in the event of a capsize. The exhaust gases pass downward through a vertical tube, to a ring of exhaust ports in the tube wall and, if the engine is inverted, a weighted sleeve fitted telescopically round the lower end of the tube drops into a position where it closes the exhaust ports in a fluid-tight manner. Inside the tube is a check-valve in the form of a captive ball, that upon inversion, drops on to a valve seat located above the ring of exhaust ports.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1975Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: R. Patent number: 4003338Abstract: An enduring cage for fish or other aquatic animals is provided. The structure of the cage is such that it can be made of deterioration-resistant materials at a reasonable cost. The cage has a top frame made of bent aluminum tubing or pipe. The tubing is slit so that it has a horizontal gap or slot into which are inserted the upper edges of flexible netting side walls. The top frame is strengthened by the use of an aluminum top sheet inserted into the same slot as the upper edges of the netting and forming a partial cover for the top of the cage. The tubing then is clamped, by means of bolts inserted through holes in the tubing, and the edges of the netting and the top sheet. The netting and top sheet are held tightly and evenly in place. The side walls and bottom of the cage are made of netting panels which are fastened together at their edges to form seams.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1975Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Gregor N. Patent number: 4003133Abstract: A method for optically aigning a machine part which should have its center line perpendicular to the vertical plane of a reference. The deviation in the horizontal and in the vertical plane between the actual position and the desired position of the part is numerically determined through the use of a theodolite. For determining the deviation in the horizontal plane two reference marks are provided entirely outside the machine at a distance as far as possible from each other. The distance between the two reference marks determines both a base line running parallel to the longitudinal center line of the machine and the position of the vertical plane of reference.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1974Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Papierfabrieken Van Gelder Zonen N.V.Inventor: Johannes A. Patent number: 4003005Abstract: A bidirectional filter circuit having an input and an output and substantly constant input and output impedance characteristics over the desired frequency range. A low-pass filter network is connected between filter input and output and has identical low-pass filter half sections cascaded back-to-back with a symmetrical all-pass network interposed therebetween, the all-pass network providing isolation between the low-pass filter half sections and the desired terminating impedance therefor. First and second identical compensating networks are respectively connected to the filter input and output and have reciprocal characteristic functions with respect to the low-pass filter half sections to compensate for impedance changes in the low-pass filter half sections over the desired frequency range without affecting amplitude characteristics thereof.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1975Date of Patent: January 11, 1977Assignee: Electro Networks, Division of Chloride, Inc. Patent number: 4002126Abstract: A pallet construction for use with detachable tiering frames, which pallet is fabricated of metal having parallel stringers with a plurality of longitudinally spaced-apart deck members extending transversely therebetween which latter are fixed, as by welding, to said stringers. Said pallet may be adapted for use with tiering frames of the center post or corner post type by means of a unique support member fixed, in the former case, to the intermediate zone of the under face of the stringers and end deck members, and in the latter case to the ends of said stringers. Said supports each incorporate a surface bearing portion for engaging a portion of the underlying tiering frame; there being an adjacent inclined portion which serves as a detent to inhibit shifting of the pallet as so supported while also acting cammingly to assist in positioning of such pallet. Each support has a base portion for engaging a support surface.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 1974Date of Patent: January 11, 1977Assignee: SAID Thomas N.
